    My wife does periodical fasts of anything between 24 to 36 hours. She regularly does intermittent fasting (daily) for 18 hours and has 2 keto meals. But what I notice is that at the end of prolonged fasts, rather than getting tired, she is so full of energy, in great mood and her skin super smooth. She is an Indian and she is exceptionally beautiful. But at the end of prolonged fasts, she looks like a goddess. That could be because of internal repair. Autophagy is real.

      This is how I do it and I've had the same weight loss in the same time frame. When I'm not working, I try to push the feeding window to 4 hrs. I started IF at 96 kgs, i'm now 81 kgs @ 5'11". Two meals a day from now on and NO snacking and I also eat a bowl of ice cream every night after dinner.( Although I would not recommend that and that's the last vice I need to get rid of)

      Ive just completed my first week of no sugar, so getting off the ice cream was a battle in itself. Getting leaner now. I am also taking vitamin K2 and D3 to mobilize calcium, although im not entirely sure about the K2, because i have the prothrombin gene mutation, which is a blood clotting disorder. Vitamin K causes blood to clot, i just hope K2 does not.

    I’m into my 8th day. Four months ago I fasted for 16 days and cleared up some issues that had been bothering me for years. That is the incentive for doing another fast but maybe only 10 days this time. I have a history of cancer and diabetes in my family so I thought maybe a little fasting could help Incase something is lurking there in the shadows. I will break my fast with a bowl of cabbage soup, and eat mostly cabbage and turmeric soup for the first week - that’s what I did last time.

    • @artm9803
      @artm9803 2 роки тому

      How did it work for you, I have a history of cancer too and I am being monitored for any lurking cells. I want to fast but don’t know how to do it since I have to take pain medication for nerve pain due to the surgery I had to remove a tumor in my face.

    • @MultiPjay
      @MultiPjay 2 роки тому +7

      @@artm9803 there are many things we can do besides fasting. The first thing I did was cut processed foods and dairy products out of my diet. I stopped frying foods (to avoid the black char and excess oil) and instead I roast chicken in the oven, microwave steam my salmon. So basically I don't buy anything that's in a jar, box, bag or bottle except for my lentils, eggs, salt, olives. I found eating mostly wholefoods has been more beneficial than fasting. I do intermittent fasting. My eating window is between 12pm and 6pm.

    I recall being taught many complex concepts of chemistry and biology in school. But it was all over the place, and felt so abstract after school ended. I suppose if these subjects are taught in context of such things, as nutrition and benefits to the body, then that would actually make a difference. People would have something they can take forward after learning all that.

    • @Quaerite.Intellectum
      @Quaerite.Intellectum 5 років тому +7

      Yes!
      Learning with a purpose and context makes all the difference. The question "How is this information useful to me?" or "How can I use this information?" should be answered in everyone's mind in order for them to experience optimum learning, or just to learn at all. The "all over the place" factor can overwhelm people and prevent any learning from occuring at all.

    This Dr. I trust....he has brought out to the light alot of healthy life extension info.
    Dr. Berg was the first Dr. I heard say "potasium is the most important mineral our body needs." I was ignorant of this as my PCPs never even checked my potasium level! Because of this l went tru most of my life suffering horrendous cramps all over my body, heart palpitations, nervousness, afib episodes, severe insecurity which led to depression because l felt not up to tasks that required strenuous activity.
    Not bragging, l had the ability to be one of the best athletes in hi school. But lacking Potasium AND magnesium in my diet kept me in the bleachers, thinking l had a bad heart!
    In 2018 Dr. Berg made a video on Magnesium, l tried it and just 20 minutes later l felt like a very healthy 18 year old! My heart rate went down to 60 bpm from 80 bpm resting pulse and blood pressure came down drastically.
    What an AMAZING change in how l felt. I wanted so bad to go back to my teen years and live again eating right. God bless Dr. Berg even more!

Usually one boil pops up every few months but right now I have a severe staph infection where more and more boils keep appearing all at once in the same spot. People say once you have mrsa it will never go away. I don’t want to believe that. Within the last month I started doing intermittent fasting which had been amazing for me as I feel so much healthier and in control and happy doing it! I also have been cutting sugars and carbs(not completely) but dramatically. And once I’m done with this infection, I plan to start power walking/ running again! I refuse to take antibiotics but these reoccurring infections are very scary and I’m just looking for some answers. I have been following you for over 5 years and I trust everything you say! There is a big, big, confusion, as well as, sever lack of information, on this topic, so people resort to watching all kinds of crackpot videos, from people who have no clue what they are talking about, but, need their clicks/views, to monetize on UA-cam.
    Make it a good, long, 20 - 30 minutes video, but, cover the topic exhaustively.

    I love and admire all of your efforts and videos. I would like to mention at the start of this video you said that autopaghy is the process of the body getting rid of things the body doesn't need anymore. I wonder if you would agree that autopaghy includes the body getting rid of things that the body doesn't want as well. This to me expands the importance of the process of autopaghy.

    Is there any way to measure those bad proteins to clean up and how much autophagy we need? The basic question is, where am I standing? Is 16 hour IF enough or would a 3-5 day prolonged fasting be more appropriate, and if so, how often? Many thanks for all your videos

    I'm a healthy pre-menopausal woman who is has a borderline low-end healthy BMI doing low-carb IF solely for autophagy/insulin sensitivity and not weight loss. How long should I fast? I've read that women have different responses to IF than men, with the recommendations to not surpass 16h fasting for long-term insulin/hormone benefits and I want to increase and prolong my fertility.

    I appreciate that you explain things in simple terms which allows me (with no background in medicine or science) to grasp an understanding of the subject. Autophagy makes intuitive sense to me. It is simple enough for me to try and I hope, succeed. Much appreciation for your channel and thank you for your explaining things in simple terms.

      SWLoreNerd55 that’s calorie restriction. You would lower your metabolism. Best eat fewer meals and fast. That way you have less insulin spikes and be able to burn body fat for fuel. 👍😊

    I am trying to do IF. I was doing it everyday for 16/8 cycle. I changed it to three times a week for 20/4. I got into the habit of having tea three times during this fast, but use non-sweetened almond milk with one pack of stevia (per cup). So that adds about 40 calories per cup. How bad I am hurting my IF? (I really don't want to stop it/makes a huge difference in personal enjoyment). I also do a 2.5 day fast each month, with no extra calories/very strict.
