I just bought a car with a similar 48V mild hybrid system and the electric boost is extremely mild. If I didn't know that the turbocharged gas engine comes on boost around 2500 RPM, I would think the low end torque was only coming from the gasoline engine. The hybrid assist never operates concurrently with the gasoline engine. It provides some torque fill so the engine feels consistently powerful from zero rpms.

Sales are low on the C63 because potential buyers can agree on one major thing: it's too heavy for a performance car. Reactions are the same with the new M5, despite the fact that it has a twin turbo V8 and makes over 700hp. The previous generation of those cars will appreciate in value because of this.
My main issue with the one that I drove is that I didn’t comfortably fit in it, even though I fit in C classes no problem. The roof is too low and even with the seat as low as it can go my head touches the roof.

I like that this car doesn't have lane keep / lane centring. If the feature was present, some law would require it to default to being active, so you'd have to disable it every time you start the car.
i was sitting at my Mercedes dealer waiting for my car the other day, and one of these pulled up as a service loaner, and as someone who initially thought these were kinda ugly looking, my thoughts completely changed. i was sorta mad that they didn’t give me it as a loaner 😅

My comments on your comments on the rear camera/logo/hatch release. My Mk6 GTI (2008-13) had the same feature, and I believe VW had a patent on the design (and were the first to use it), so M-B couldn't create one of their own until the patent ran out. So, it's not novel as that particular feature has now been around for nearly 20 years. Also, people (auto journalist) actually complained that it made a grating noise while closing up. Really? The sound didn't last but more than a second and yet it bothered them. I think it's pretty genius as I also have it on my 2017 Golf Alltrack and Mk7.5 GTI as well. Yeah, the sound isn't great, but at least I know it's working. In all the time I have had it, it has not failed once. Between the Mk6/Mk7.5 GTIs and the Alltrack, that makes about 230,000 miles of travel without one glitch of its function. More people that see it think it's pretty cool. Must be if M-B decided to copy it. I suspect the same feature will find its way into other cars as designers are trying to figure out clever ways to integrate radar and parking sensors into their exteriors and grills. Sometimes it's the little details that can really make a car feel special. In a world of cars that look way too much alike, those well-executed features (inside and out) might be the only elements that can distinguish a model from its competition.
It’s just insane that a base model, essential C class coupe, is $74k CAD without taxes or dealership fees. You’re telling a $90k car for a 2.0 4 cyl with a shitty battery boost. I’d rather take a 2.5L 4 cyl NA and not be replacing a $10k battery in 7 years… no no appreciable massive HP feeling and or major gas consumption. Merc has weak reliability and let’s face it the Mercedes stature is not really felt by a C class or CLE, an S class I get it - you’re getting the baller vehicle but this is a base model, that’s almost costing you 6 figures without lane keep assist. Insane, I’ll go spend $66k with taxes for a Lexus and never have any problems, and have lane keep assist ffs! Love your channel a you beat the throttle guys by a long shot! Keep it up!

I've yet to see an auto-start/stop that works well. The one in my M550ix sucks, especially pulling into my garage when I need to inch forward, the car wants to stop then jerk forward when I only need to creep a couple more inches to get fully into the garage. It also takes way too long to start up when a light turns green. Thankfully, you can manually disable it, but have to do so every time you start the car...unless you use an ODB device to permanently turn it off, though even that gets reset with every over the air software update.
Strangely enough, I find that stop/start works better with a manual gearbox. The one I had would only stop the engine when you were in neutral, and it started the engine as soon as you depressed the clutch, which meant it was ready to go by time you were in gear. In my current car, stop/start is automatically disabled in Sport mode, which I always use. It's just a pain that you have to manually put it in sport mode every time.
