I've always wanted to buy one of these Hourglass palettes, but they never fully suit me. If I could also mix and match the actual shades, then I could be convinced. In the Jellyfish palette I'd want a cooler bronzer shade, and I'd swap out the Diffused Heat blush for Mood Exposure blush. I think I'll get Bellabeautebar's Basic Witch palette instead! The moment I saw you hold it up next to Strange and Unusual, I was sold! Thank you for the thorough video about these Hourglass palettes. Your eye look today is just awesome!

I think you have a different bronzer in travel size - you have probably luminous bronze, and in this palette is lustrous bronze.

Milani even has a baked bronzer I just didn’t have it to show you all. Milani has the best formula to dupe HG with.
Great video - very useful💖 We have similar skin tones, and I was worried that the snake palette would be too dark - but it looks really beautiful on your skin so I am more optimistic now 😊

They were $85 last yr so they went up 5 bucks 😫 I wanna get the snake color story in the owl palette. Last yr was my first time getting one and I absolutely loved it. I still use it so much. The hourglass formula is just so amazing. I don’t like the prices but dang I love their formulas!

Great video!! I'm really wanting the jellyfish! I also love the leopard one. 90 is soo expensive. But I good deal if you were going to buy everything individually. Maybe for someone who doesn't own any Hourglass, like myself. It kinda makes sense in getting one. That way you can try a little of everything. I can definitely see using the jellyfish one daily.
If you bought mini sizes of all 6 (which you can’t bcs only certain shades are available) it would cost you $168 plus tax!

I ordered the Jellyfish palette but in the Owl packaging. I’ve been using the ambient lighting palette (the trio of finishing powders) for years and I love them. I’ve been through 2 of those pallets 🫣 so I’m really excited to try the blushes and bronzer. I would have loved to get all of them but that’s not in the budget. I do think the price is a steal if you break down how much each would be individually so I don’t mind the splurge. Love you’re eye look btw… I can’t wait to see that video. ❤

Thanks👍🏻❤️💕 maloney’s older blushes match some of the hourglass pallets and I have an old elf highlighting palette that matches our glasses finishing powders perfectly and Laura Geller has baked products and I have quite a few of her blushes and they match up also same with her bronzen n’ Brighten

I ordered the jellyfish palette with the leopard cover. Last year I bought the elephant palette since everyone was saying it’s the best, but it’s simply too dark for me. I couldn’t use the highlighter and the finishing powders, it looked very dark on me.
This year, I just went for the lightest.
Jellyfish 🪼 is gonna work for you especially if you are fair.
@@SteffsBeautyStash I’m not fair, I’m between your shade of foundations usually or one shade higher. But, like I said, the elephant finishing powder, didn’t work for me last year. And seeing the Snake palette, I can tell clearly, it’s not for my skin tone. Surprised you made it work for you.

I love that you managed to dupe Hourglass with WnW, Essence and Milani! 😂 Just goes to show you how good drugstore products have gotten. I still love my Elephant palette, but I think I love the Jellyfish palette for the blushes.
Drugstore has some good baked products, especially Milani. I think out of all the brands Milani is the best dupe.

I'm extremely fair and purchased the jellyfish and leopard palettes. I really want the blushes in the snake palette, but can't justify the price tag since I know the other powders won't work for me. But I am so excited for my two to arrive!

I agree, they need to be more inclusive for sure. They are pricey but beautiful, they know how to make finishing powders, blushes and highlighters right. I was only going to get the owl with the snake color story and ended up getting the jellyfish also. The shades look gorgeous on you!

These are all face palettes. Like Blush, Highlighters and a face powder. But I'm sure you can use these as eyeshadow if you like.

Do you have any dupes you recommend for the finishing powders?
Laura Gellar has some as did/does NYX on their website. The NYX ones are discontinued though so not too sure what they have left. Also, Flower Beauty makes one but it's only one shade and its a loose powder.

I've ordered the snake palette (unfortunately, I wasn't able to get this colour story in the owl packaging, I much prefer the owl illustration) and it's arriving tomorrow 😊.
Honestly, the highlighter is the only shade I'm not too keen on, simply because it's a metallic strobe - if I do it, it will be on my eyes 😉
I have to agree with you, HG need another palette, a much darker, deeper toned palette. The Snake shades are, at least, an improvement, especially for HG.

Who knows with HG!! Fingers crossed 🤞, they address this issue and become inclusive to all skintones. I've decided to return my palette - I refuse to support such a brand who , for whatever reason, refuses to deepen their shades 😡.
Wow the dupes are amazing. Sunrise serenita 🧡 is a great alt, I like that shade more than the HG.
I've always been curious if baked formulas are longer lasting than regular ones, or do they give a better finish. And if they're more dry or oil skin friendly. Loving the eyes and lipstick ❤
IMO they last a long time and are good for all skin types.

I am light medium neutral undertones and bought the tiger palette last year. Which one do you recommend? I just received the adept Samarian sunset palette today and tomorrow is secret Grove by gourmande girls.
Wow nice!!! I have not even gotten tracking for my Adept order. I would go with Snake. It’s the deepest color story but it’s not that deep.

This was so helpful. I have never own one of these so I’m interested in the Snake one but with the owl compact. Could you tell me if it contains avocado oil? I’m severely allergic but I looked on the website and the ingredients aren’t listed. It only says what it doesn’t use. It would say “Persea Gratissima (avocado) Oil” in the packaging. I’m sorry to ask but since you have it I would appreciate it ❤

I have never purchased one of these pallets before and I am light medium skintone which one would you suggest for me to get to start out with I would like what comes in the jellyfish and I’m torn between that packaging and owl and the jellyfish outside but, do you think the inside would be a good pick for me to kind of get my toes wet into each of their products?
I'd probably go with the Leopard color story and just choose whichever palette you want. Those are good mid-tone shades.

I am very pale ( I use the shade milkshake in Huda’s foundation or 0N in the terracotta of guerlain) do you think the snake’s palette will work for me?? Because I love that blushes but I am scared because that Bronzer and that highlighter. Last year I get the elephant palette and I love it
The finishing powder will be too dark for you to use but you should be able to use the rest. You’ll have to really blend the highlighter with the blush so it won’t leave a cast. You don’t like the Jellyfish 🪼 one? That might be better for you.
@@SteffsBeautyStash I love the blushes of the snake palette, I have the 2 powders that the jellyfish palette has… so I thought that the snake palette could be a good complement to the other products that I have. If I cant use just the powder, I have not problem with purchase it. Thank you for your help!!
Iam very fair with a golden undertone and love this finishing powder. I mix it with my HG bronzer and blushes for a glowy candellight look or use it as a very light glowy bronzer on its own.

I never understood why these palettes are so popular. They all look like highlighter to me. They cost a fortune. Not to mention they all contain bismuth oxychloride which to me is like putting fiberglass on your skin.
I have only tried buying an Hourglass holiday palette in 2017 and I returned it. For C$100, I don't think it is worth it as I can't make it show up on my light skin. I tried different brushes and technique and I have even asked Sephora employees for suggestion. Nothing worked. So I am not sure what the hype is all about. 🤷
Then pass for sure! Milani will give you the same thing at a fraction of the cost. Minus the finishing powders though, I can’t seem to find an affordable option for them.
They can keep them for $90.....

i’ve always wanted one of these. i’ve had 2 singles that i’ve completely panned and i loveeeed the way they looked on my skin, and i’d LOVE to get the jellyfish palette in the owl packaging. 🤍🤍🤍
If you can do without customizing wait for them to go to Ulta or Sephora and get them on sale or use points.

You should be able to return them. I’ve returned things that didn’t work for me without a problem.
