Re: the Lisa Eldridge liners, I just watched a video and they didn't fully set down. She ended up with panda eyes at the end of the day. And her original application was Perfect. Took the fun out of them for me. I'll be looking for your review.

I saw that last night while watching the video…and ordered owl with palette 3. Although I have a light complexion, the colors are beautiful. Your video convinced me I wanted it…and then owl was back!
I am in the deep/dark side and took the leap on bundle three and they all work! I wear glasses so the "bronzer" works well under my eyes as an under eye powder, the blushes and highlight show up too. It's a learning curve because blushes for deep skin are usually super pigmented but I finally understand what lighter people mean when they say they want buildable. There is color but it's such a pretty flush that you can add to rather than buff away.

Yes the blush shades are vibrant but soft. And I like having that control in dialing up or down the application. Happy to know you can use that bronzer for setting purposes!
@@crownedprincess100 it's technically the snake palette. I got bundle #3 in the leopard. It's worth it to me since I don't have any other Hourglass face powders and unless something changes holiday 2024 it'll probably be my only one

Fun fact: there’s a barn owl living near me. Every night, it squawks as it flies between the tall evergreen trees. I’m hoping to see it one of these nights. I saw one last year in late summer, perched on top of the shed when it was still light out at 9pm. I think I’m becoming a bird watcher. 🤓

@@aliciaarcher great idea! Inspired by Labyrinth, as suggested by @Cicelyize, it could be called Jareth! :) Or Ghost, Oolert, or Moggy. Agreed that they look incredible. The one I saw perched eventually flew over the adjacent field to hunt and the wingspan was impressive for such a small stature.

I snagged the owl with palette one yesterday when it came back in stock (and before it went out of stock again)!!!! I’m so happy 😭 it’s stunning, especially with the lightest powders that make it more visibly monochromatic and emphasize the stunning owl! Its stark simplicity is gorgeous 🥲🙏🏻🦉

I ordered the Snake palette as is and I’m a light/medium. I think I’ll be fine. I find that Hourglass will sheer out nicely or just go on lightly. Mostly I loved the shades the most. I don’t mind snakes and the graphics appealed the most.
The color choice for the snake was also more satisfying to me. I can’t get enough of mint and red 😮💨
Finally someone close to my complexion trying it. I even went to Sephora to see in person. I was on the fence but now I want it. Don’t know when it will come to Sephora. I’ve been looking for the all in one face palette for years and finally I think I found it.

I am glad I did not hesitate on that one, and got palette 3 in the jellyfish design. I have a lot of makeup, but these are special. Last year I got the tiger palette and love it.
They are so lovely, and I’m happy to that I didn’t hesitate when these dropped!

The Owl is my favorite, Jellyfish the second, but I know my 6 year old would steal it (obsessed with everything ocean), and Hourglass is too expensive for that.

Hey Alicia! This will be a fun one! Edited to add: oh I missed the "that's enough"! Lol. I haven't gotten into Hourglass, but i have to say the finish of those colors on the screen is really nice. It looks like the color is part of your skin, not just a layer sitting on top.
I totally forgot to say it! I was in rush mode, and something my brain goes on the fritz. And exactly how you described, is why I love the hourglass formula. They figured out a way how to make powder look like skin 🤷🏽♀️ I would also give it to Surratt Beauty for a similar finish.

I’m light to medium & I got the owl packaging (had to I LOVE birds) with the jellyfish color story & I got the leopard packaging with the snake color story 😅 I can make both palettes work on my skin tone 😊 I had to have tiger from last year as I am a tiger in Chinese zodiac 🐯 & then I caved & got elephant (it was the one meant for my medium skin tone) … this year I dove in too because I love HG powders; love face palettes & I used a 15% off code which worked on the new release & saved me some coins 👌🏼😆 I did get an email that my shipment was “delayed” due to all the orders 😢 but it finally shipped so I’ll receive them this Saturday (& I’m also in NYC); but that owl one had to be mine ! I have 2 parrots so yeah crazy bird lady here ! I too have a great variety of brushes that I could go in with especially with the darker palette ❤ ugh I’m excited ! The palette looked stunning on you Alicia & yes thx for reminding us that we can use our face palette on our eyes 🫶🏼💃🏻 lastly I am too trying to buy less; but these palettes were a no brainer; & i ordered on early release & still not having them in my hands is slowly driving me into madness 😩🙌😭🤣😆
I think birds translate so well as illustrations. Maybe we’ll see another one next year! And I hear you, where you can make several of these shades works, and I can validate all of them for my face 🤣 But I’m trying to hold strong!

Also the way you were describing your undertone, we are shade twins and I was laughing at your description. That’s exactly how I would describe my undertone😂

I ordered the third palette with the jellyfish packaging and it’s on its way. I think that with last year’s deeper palette this will give me a nice range of Hourglass cheek products and shades that I’m very happy with just those two. And the tin packaging is really nice for me when it comes to travel; I’ve used my tiger palette from last year SO MUCH, traveling or otherwise!
I do have to say you are a comparison queen!
I love snakes and I loved the Tiffany blue background so thanks to your terrific review I finally pulled the trigger on this one. I wasn’t going to get it because in other people’s videos the blush colors of palette 3 looked exactly the same as last year’s palette 3. Thank you so much for your description of the colors. I think this year’s will work a little better on me. Ordered my palette today.
I love the snake packaging too!!! I keep going back and forth on if I’m going to get it because I have the tiger and elephant from last year. And I kind of forgot I had them so they’ve barely been used.
My palette should be getting delivered today and I’m so excited! I got the same palette/cover combo and this video just solidified my decision. 🥰

I have been waiting for this. I, too, picked up palette 3 but opted for the leopard lid. I am not a snake fan. The colors look fabulous on you. I also like the fact that it offers a bronzer this time. Mine comes later this week. Great review!

@@aliciaarcherWell, I gave palette 3 a whirl. It is beautiful, but the bronzer looks like a buildable peach blush on me. While I wish it was dark enough to bronze, I’m just glad it works. By the way, I’m PMG 26. The interior portion of my face is a bit lighter. I don’t think the “bronzer” will work for anyone with a richer complexion. The actual peach blush is pretty, too. I haven’t tried the pink/coral shades yet.
@@evelynwilkerson4800 I suspected the bronzer would serve more as a blush. And as you said, I’m happy that it’s useable. How does the Radiant Light finishing powder work on your skin?
I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t think before giving the radiant light powder a try. I use HourGlass primer, skin tint, translucent powder, concealer, and even blush. But, I guess the word “radiant” didn’t really hit until I used it and looked more than shiny…greasy 😆. I have desert dry skin, but it didn’t really help me pull it off. From this point on, I’m going to strictly use it sparingly as highlighter and on my eyes. All in all, that is my least favorite part of the palette. It looks beautiful on you, though. I used my Sonia G buffer. Last year’s powder was a bit too dark, but the overall finish looked much better on me. 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you for the thorough color comparison. I'm still on the fence with Hourglass. I gave up on Nars long long ago when they changed the powder formulation into impossible baked that I could not even get pigment on a brush.

I skipped last year’s so went for no 2 to suit my light medium skin tone - with the Jellyfish cover & have worn it a lot over the last week, I just adore the 1 ‘new’ shade blush - it’s stunning!
Alicia, so glad you purchased palette 3 and with the owl. I purchased the exact same so it was so great to watch your demo. I’m really happy with this palette this is the first one I can use all shades on face, cheek, eyes. It will be a great travel palette. I’ve been experimenting with the palette to see if I can use just the palette to do entire face minus foundation & concealer and it works. I even tried the coral blush topper on the eyelids with the bronzer. I have the palettes from last year & other years and really happy with palette 3. I like how you demo with the various brushes it shows how much color you can really pick up. Great review & demo!! 😊❤️

I am excited to finally try these palettes & this looks gorgeous on you! I was so tempted to try last year's but waited too long and the one I wanted sold out. These appear to be worth the splurge & potentially to be used with foundation for a glamorous beat or no makeup- makeup days using just this and a mascara. I purchased the Owl (palette 3) since I wore the heck out of my Tiger palette. I don’t believe I’ll be getting anymore if there isn’t a significant difference in 24’. My Ambient Light III is a love ♥️

All week I’ve been checking your page for this review. I’m excited for the new colors and it seems it’s a universal palette bc I see a big range of people grabbing it. I think the leopard was so classy but I grabbed the jellyfish bc I felt like this is more of a summer palette than fall. But I use my tiger palette year round and will do the same for this one. When you stopped in the middle of talking to say “ohhhhh that’s pretty” that’s me every time I put that peachy shade from tiger🤣 I’m always impressed every time I put it on. I ordered the exact same palette (inside & out) and am so glad that I did! Especially now, after watching your video. I too, did not hesitate when the link came through to order before the actual launch date. I have an olive undertone so peach and coral shades work best for me no matter the depth of my skin tone throughout the year. I must say, I have to acknowledge the fact that you give us THE BEST representation of what the true colors are when it comes to swatches. I appreciate that so much. Other beauty creators use so much lighting that it blows out what the colors truly look like IRL and that makes it just as difficult when it comes to picking one’s best shades. Thank you for that, Carrie! And I appreciate the feedback about the lighting as I go back and forth about changing my set up. I’m lucky that the window I film in front of is HUGE, and I truly feel natural light is best when trying to film swatches. I might look a little dull, but I rather adjust the colors for the thumbnail, than sacrifice the colors’ true representation.
@@aliciaarcher I totally understand the aesthetic part of it. You do your videos so well balancing between the two (natural lighting vs content creating lighting). It’s never overdone to the point that the balance is off or the saturation is skewed too far one way or another. You truly encompass what it is to be a content creator. You give us honest opinions, great recommendations and are great with storytelling that it keeps your audience staying until the end. You don’t sacrifice the colors or product performance for the sake of aesthetics. You content goes beyond just the beauty niche and I appreciate that. I’m a fan 🫶🏼

I did not pick up any of last years palettes, so the leopard had four new shades for my collection. I can understand why that does not work for everyone but I look forward to trying it. I picked it up with the jellyfish case. Thanks for a great video.

Everyone pulls out their pallets from the prior years and they look mostly untouched. Anyway I love the nail polish I used your link, thanks for the video!
From my experience of using mostly the elephant palette for a year, it is very hard to pan or make a noticeable dent in any of the shades. I managed wear down one of the finishing powder by a few mm. All the other shades are so pigmented that you end up using very tiny bit everyday. By my estimation, light handed use it would take 5 years to pan any of the color squares. 😊
@chocolatesheikh I have the same experience as you. I use both Elephant and Tiger quite often and the only shade that looks untouched is Dim Light, I think l because it doesn't have a sheen to it. Something about the sheen in the other shades seems to camouflage usage dents.
I would probably have to use it everyday for a year to see a dent. Which is probably why I need to stop my blush obsession 🤣

Alicia, I felt the same way about the snakes on palette 3. So I ordered the palette 3 with the jellyfish because the owl is sold out.
I have 1 of these face and cheek palet from a few years ago I also use it on my eyes grate video I want the 1 that you have the snake

Night Forest HAS ME BY THE NECK!! I might follow your lead and get those two, because as impressed as I was with the neutral shades, I don’t wear them in that manner often. Think I’ll be getting palette 2 but in the owl packaging. I agree snakes are not my thing, and I’m not a fan of the leopard packaging. The 🦉 is a symbol of wisdom and independence. It speaks to my soul, and the artwork is most stunning!

I don’t know how innovative they’ll go for a holiday release, since these are potential gifts and they lean more universal overall I feel when choosing the shades.

Grabbed the owl with #3 even though it might be a tad deep for me lol the colors were just too beautiful to pass up! And then i just ordered the jaguar in the #2 cause even tho its mostly repeats the colors are new to me and the packaging is just too stunning! My wallet is SCREAMING 😂

I got the owl with #2 which suits my nc35 skintone more, but had to hop on #3 which i think i could really get away with so long as I do a light hand. Couldnt customize it (i really love the art of the jellyfish) but palette 3 was sold out for customizing 😭 cant believe i spent so much money on 2 palettes but planning on wearing the crap out of them.

@@shan-e-zahraI think the leopard is more day to day friendly without having to think too much on it but the snake palette is GORGEOUS and can be worn year round on our complexion with a lighter hand! Id recommend the snake one

Wasn't going to get this one because the deepest one has the snake design and I don't like them but I caved and customize on the site with the owl..I have the tiger from last year so I hope this one is different..a friend told me it's basically the same
I will say that the ambient powder is more versatile for setting and finishing, because the strobe light power had shimmer in the tiger palette. Solar Bronze is warmer than Transcendent light, and the blush shades run more coral than copper.
I'm with you I don't like snakes at all. The girls are asking me to get it. It's that bronzer shade that has me saying no. But I'm still on the fence smh
I’m one of the girls who asked you to get it. My palette #3 in the owl package arrived today. Sadly, the bronzer is on the redder side. I much prefer the finishing powder (used as a bronzer)from the tiger palette last year. I really love my elephant palette too from last year. I’ll have to play with the owl more, because I absolutely love the hourglass palettes from last year. These powders look gorgeous on the skin! But I won’t blame you if you don’t get it. It’s a lot of money and I want you to be happy with your purchase. On the other hand, I would love to see how this palette looks on your skin tone. As it was supposedly made for those with richer skin tones. Then we can truly see if Hourglass is doing better!

I honestly wish the pans were magnetic & you could just buy the shell albeit not a very business savvy plan lol! I love the cooler bronzer shade in the ‘snake’ palette, I rarely use highlighter, I’m afraid the finishing powder won’t work on my light medium skin & that copper blush terrifies me😂! I should just say f*ck it & save my money but I’m in love with the owl too! Last year I bought the gorgeous coral elephant which always sits proudly on the top of my vanity but I’ve probably used it maximum 10x😬💸

I love the design of the Owl palette and hourglass powders are my favorite but I can’t justify $90+Tax on a palette when I already have products at home. I broke my no buy for some Moon Cat polishes and the LD sales on Danessa’s site and am now being more stringent with my spend.
Between inflation and student loans I have to be stricter with my spend again. 😅
Does anyone know what is the darkest bronzing shade in the Hourglass line? I only have the Ambient Light Volume 3 and it definitely bronzes but I would like a deeper shade if they have one.
The darkest bronzer shade is quite warm, and not as deep as Transcendent light found in Vol III. Solar Bronze from palette 3 is deeper than the bronze single “Radiant Bronze Light.”

Hi Alicia, both the pink blushes look the same on the face. Is that true? I dont want to get a palette with 2 similar looking blushes.
You won’t be able to distinguish them. One is slightly more vibrant.

🫣 I am struggling so hard. Iridescent rose looks too cool for me. I'm more peachy-golden and you are more peachy-neutral. If I was behaving... I would say I have to like every shade at this price since I already have the mini - sculpture unlocked quad (and a backup). 🙄
