New to Boston, The Dirty Italian takes all of the old world flavor of the North End to Southie. Owner Talya Pessolano has been in the sandwich game most of her life- cutting her teeth at Springfield’s famous Frigo’s Gourmet Foods.

I’ve seen some of the pictures and reviews on google, I think they beefed up those sandwiches for this show cause they looked a lot different then the pictures from actual customers

Delicious looking, old school sandwiches, loaded with meat like they were 20 years ago. All for half the price of Katz’… $14.99 for a Bada-Boom (Large) Sub! 😋 I wish her great and continued success.

Ive never in my life called anything resembling a sub a spuckie or a hero. I grew up and still live 2 minutes from Boston.
There is a pizza place in lower mill part of Dot that is called Spukies n Pizza.
Hero or grinder is more of Rhode Island and parts of Mass that border R.I use for subs.

I know my opinion doesn't count because I'm from California haha but growing up in the 70s we called them Grinders but now everyone calls them Subs so when we're ordering out my family calls them Subs but when we're making them at home their GRINDERS
