      I grow them in my backyard and they attract a certain type of bird with white tail feathers that pecks on them like a Woodpecker after they bloom. I've had them stay up 4 years, and I spread the seeds around open areas. Thanks for the video and great information.

    No, I have not heard from your publisher, but people are enjoying the last of the summer before we start thinking about the joys of the winter ahead. So no worries. Yesterday I made mullein tea for a nurse who is suffering from a terrible cough and sore throat. Oh, I added a number of other wild edibles and she said she got relief pretty fast from them. Beautiful people like you are to be thanked for all that you share. Thank you so much.

      Ah, thank you Gerald! I have never dehydrated my plants - always air dried. You probably could though but I think when the drying process is accelerated the plant can lose some nutrients - - - I have read that somewhere but don't recall where. Lucky you saving the mullein in your garden! I appreciate the feedback!

    I've heard from a couple sources to only use the first year new growth, not to harvest the blossoming phase. Is there a reason for that?

    • @EdibleWildFood-1
      @EdibleWildFood-1  2 роки тому +2

      When a biennial is in the second year, the energy of the plant is 'focused' on the flower then seed production; therefore the health benefits in the second year leaves lessens (not diminishes).

      Yes and no. You need to determine what is the cause of your pain and where exactly is it in the body. And always keep in mind, what works for one person does not always work on another. Hope that helps!
