appears at 5:45 to get it unstuck he removed a bolt to the coolant valve pump to loosen it...yes on the "remove headlight first" method, makes it to much easier...also if you really want it to be easy: remove headlight (two screws in front, one can use a flathead, one screw or two under fender attaching bumper, then 3 screws securing headlight), cover to fuse box, clamp the hoses, disconnect, then unscrew the three screws holding it onto its frame and replace it that way. Then you don't have to unscrew the inverter or the little side screw to the coolant valve (which is trapping down the coolant pump), or the top screw which tends to break the head off.
How do you get to that first bolt? I took everything else off then realized i tool the wrong bolt odd and the one that I need to take off has a cm of clearance around all metal.
2007 Prius Removed the inverter pump today Removing Headlight is way easier no special extensions socket needed. “” everything in plain sight all clamps , hoses , bolts “” Great video!!!!!
I just did this very job on Monday, because my 09 Prius shut off while I was driving down the street during 40 mph. I didn't have a code for the pump, but there was no coolant circulation, so I knew it was the issue. I decided to reuse the full bracket that was already in place, because removing the other bracket around that post was going to be a hassle. I really wish I would have removed the headlight to do the job, but there's always next time.
Did you know that you can shut the traction battery down by pulling an orange key in the Trunk? In this kind of car it's necessary to do so, since it has around 200v DC..
Very helpful bro just did mine today then took her on the highway to see if I got the red-light..nope all set I had a feeling to check this 1st and ill be damned that was it 💪💪💪godbless bro 🙏
Thanks for this! This seemed way easier than the unbolting inverter brackets method. I didn't even fully remove the headlight assembly just popped out the top two bulbs for running and turn signal lights and set it on the fuse box.
Flushing the inverter coolant or the engine coolant? For the former ua-cam.com/video/5FTj4GumFbg/v-deo.html for the latter ua-cam.com/video/cprCC3wpI-E/v-deo.html best!

Who found this hilarious
Thanks a lot learned something very interesting
Wow bro very good job thanks for your tiempo
The easiest way to change the inverter pump is to remove the driver side headlight
Where's the fuse for that located??? I think there are 3 fuse boxes on the car.
I've heard it's the AM2 fuse, in the big box under the hood right side...

getting ready to replace my pump and as fate has it I have an igniter for the drivers side headlight to replace also.

Taking out the headlight was a very good idea. There was all kinds of room and removing the headlight wasn't all that hard to do.
Doing this today , I feel this is a much better way. I did the other way with inverter the angles made it a bit more of a pain.
Taking out the headlight looks like you can actually see what your doing and have room for your knuckles!
Well if you have tiny hands, doesn't need to remove any thing and still change it in 20 mins.
Going to have to do that with mine. Thanks
