Facing economic challenges, China has embarked on a significant strategy to rejuvenate its economy through the promotion of car and appliance sales. Beijing is championing a sweeping initiative designed to revitalise the nation's industrial base and domestic environments by replacing outdated and inefficient machinery with newer, cleaner alternatives. This move is intended to boost consumer spending and ignite business investments.
The initiative spans multiple sectors, encompassing upgrades in heavy industries such as petrochemicals and steel, improvements to residential amenities like elevators, and providing incentives for consumers to discard and replace old washing machines.
The execution of these plans will largely be managed by local governments. For instance, the city of Suzhou in the prosperous Jiangsu province has initiated a scheme offering substantial subsidies-100 million yuan for car purchases, providing up to 6,000 yuan per buyer, and 20 million yuan for replacing old appliances, with as much as 1,500 yuan available per item, effective from April 20.

OK, China's GDP grow by 5.3% and if they keeping this sort of growth the economy will easily grow by 1 trillion. I know India's current growth is at 8.4% but that is less than 0.4 trillion in growth. Palki talked about Suzhou, Suzhou is actually located in Jiangsu province in China. Jiangsu's GDP is about 2 trillion dollars in 2023 and the population of Jiangsu is 80 million, so for a province with about 6% the population of India but with more than half of the GDP of India that is pretty good. Jiangsu has gdp per capita of 26000 USD that is about 3.5 times of the richest Indian city. And what does the US admiral knows about the economy. Let me put it this way China spent 224 billion on military last year, the the government has a budget revenue of 4 trillion and it run a budget deficit of 200 billion. In term of military spending vs revenue China is spending $0.056 for every dollar the government raised. Now lets compare that to the US. The US defense budget is at 820 billion, the US government budget revenue is at 4.9 trillion but it is running with a deficit of 1.2 trillion, so if we compare it, the US is spending $0.17 for every dollar the government raised, bare in mind the US is paying almost 1 trillion a year to service its debt. When we talk about a country that spend big on military you seriously can't go past the US. Republican like Mike Gallagher even talk about raising the defense budget to 1.3 trillion. Now I can do a similar comparison on this about defense budget by India. India's government revenue is at 327 billion and its military spending is at 80 billion a year, that means for every dollar Modi government raised almost 25 cents is going to the military. So we can see who is really crazy when it comes to military spending.
