This is how bushcraft should be Chainsaws and plastic covers. So you stay in touch with nature and can get the feeling of real survival. I tend to bring a bulldozer to finalize my shelters.

I e become a huge fan of your bushcraft survival videos! You are resourceful, clever, and strong!! I was in USAF detailed out to joint service operating command JSOC at times in my career. The basics were water, food, rest. I’d suggest you keep your mini-ax and belted knife razor sharp, and keep a stone with you to resharpen. Also; you have the chain saw with you; rip down a few smaller 6-9” logs lengthwise, and make your sleeping platform from those, mounted flat side up. It’s difficult to sleep on long round surfaces, and your back can suffer. A bad back in the bush is not optimal. A flat surface with a ground pad is ideal with a cold weather bag. You’re doing a fantastic job!!! Keep those videos coming!!!!

What happens if you have rain especially heavy ones, how do you drain the water out & prevent flooding inside your building??
My guess is that one builds their dugout in a relatively high point compared to the surroundings? Maybe? That way you still might see minor flooding but the water drains through the floor quickly. Unless the soil has a high clay content.
I thought the same thing, but it looks like he builds them on a natural incline and/or digs a path out from the front door so the water drains away instead of coming in.

I want to build a small town of little buildings likes these! That would be a cool idea for a retreat from the grind and live like early man did for a while.... my back would kill me if I tried but I can dream can't I... (if I couldn't dream I'd cry)

Awesome shelter no doubt. I’d worry about flooding tho and bugs and ventilation. But I guess in true emergency, wouldn’t care much about that anyway. Nice job guy!

Study Viking history and you'll see most Scandinavian archeological sites have many similar homes the Viking lived out of. Flooding is not much concern once winter sets in.

A lumber order I received from Lowe’s had 2x8x16s. The variation of width ran from 7 1/2 down to 7 1/2 to nearly 7 3/4! Will be great building with such precise materials! Is every product mediocre nowadays?
