A lot of this went over my head because I’m a bit thick but I was super impressed with your engineering skills dude that’s quite a frankenlandy your putting together it’s gonna be a very special monster of vehicle that’s for sure …happy days 😜👍
Thanks mate 😃👍 yea defo a bit of a Frankenstein build and hopefully should work out well in the end 🔧😃 happy days mate 👍 thanks for your support mate 👍👍
Great Work. Really enjoy these longer format videos and great to show how much effort and work goes into all this. Without giving away some of your secrets it would be good to see you tuning and setting it all up when you get to that stage.
Thanks mate 😃 I did worry that the video may be too long. Yes I’ll also do video’s on setting up and turning both the engine and gearbox when I get to that stage too 👍 cheers
Aerospace level engineering on a landie🤩. I fitted a Ashcroft ATB a couple of years ago, really pleased with it, and Ashcrofts were dead helpful with advice too.
Excellent video mate. I reckon you had a few hair ripping out moments when building that transfer case set-up. But I bet you are glad that that part is complete. Roll on the next video. Thanks for the video. Johnny.
Thanks mate 😃😂 yea bit of a pain pulling them bearings in and out and shimming 😝 but got there in the end so well worth it 😃 cheers, should be another video very soon pal, thanks for watching 👍👍
Brilliant video! Question about adapter holes. Am I right that there is misalignment on the Synchrogearboxes adapter? I ask because I have the same problem with the GS6 manual adapter - if both guides fit correctly, it results in multiple holes that are impossible to insert bolts into. I assume the reason for your modification of the guide bushing at 1:26:08 is the same. Maybe I should do the same?
Thanks mate 😁👍 First of all I’m not doubting Synchrogearboxs build quality at all as it’s of a very high standard and I’m really happy with all that I’ve purchased from them and are a great company. I think it’s more that on most of these adaptations (even from other companies) the lower locating dowel and bolt aren’t used so it’s difficult to rely on the bolts and locator tube to precisely centralise the transfer box to the adapter, normally this isn’t much of a problem but in my case I chose to fit a centre bearing which centralised the shaft precisely hence my own locator dowels. 👍 hope this helps mate 😁 cheers
Thanks mate 😃 yea I did think of using Loctite on the bearing but it’s held in quite well with the pressure of the transfer box, it’s just the shaft that could be a problem but hopefully should be ok 🤞 cheers 👍👍
how about drilling the case out and putting eccentric bushes in might be easier on the long run. fantastic idea to put the extra bearing in anyhow coz the torque you are going to put through that shaft will distort it. hope the transfer casing can take the power though ....
Yea that’s not a bad idea that mate 👍 it’s all good at the mo though but if I ever take the transfer box out in the future I’ll do it then, the dowels have located it perfect and it’s well secured for now 😁 we’ll see how the casing gets on when receiving a load of power in the near future 🤞 cheers mate 👍👍
@@CarJunkeez yip there i no wrong way just the way that works :) i am looking forward to seeing the end result and love the fact that you aligned the complete powertrain and props perfectly ... makes me want to build one too..
@@wesleyconn620yea true 😂 cheers, yea can’t wait until I’m finally tuning it. I can’t believe how much that Land Rover build them totally out of plonk so should make a good difference 👍 cheers
ive only gone and forgot to put that seal in ffs i thought it was a seal to go in the gearbox ,i didnt put a gasket between the adap and the box so it wouldnt keep oil in as there is a seal on the box and a seal on the transfer box are you suppossed to run the adpt shaft in oil i thought they went in dry ?
Some people just put a bit of grease on the spline so no need for the seal, yes people also fit dry but I wouldn’t really recommend it mate 😂 you could just loosen the bolts from gearbox to adaptor enough to slip a small pipe in and pump loads of LM grease in there as it would eventually work it’s way in the spline when it warms up and not much would leak out being grease. No one really runs them in oil anyway, it’s just me being paranoid 😜 cheers 👍
I've been looking forward to the next video in this series.... Well worth the wait 👍🏼
A very meticulous assembly 👌🏼
Thanks mate 😁 it’s getting there slowly, should have another video soon, thanks for your support mate 😁👍👍
Been waiting patiently for this next update 👍👍coming along m8 . Keep em coming gonna be a beast 😀👍

Cheers mate 😁 yea she’s coming together bit by bit, I’ll have another video soooooooon too mate 👍👍 cheers
I love this, some engineering has gone in to that, can’t wait for the next one

Thanks for the kind words mate 😁 yea can’t wait to try the ATB out, superb customer service from Ashcroft to mate 👍 cheers 😁
Shaney D you are spoiling us....going to keep this for later after work....feet up beers on....
Ha ha 😝 nice one mate 👍 hope you enjoy it, they’ll be another one soon pal 👍 cheers
Brilliant video, excellent approach to mechanical problems.
Thanks mate 😃 yea Landys come with plenty of mechanical problems 😝 but I like sorting them out 👍 cheers
Some work gone into that Shane, good effort 👍🏻
Cheers mate 😃👍 you know how it is with these Landys mate 😝 thanks for you support pal 👍👍

Yes new video. Going to be awesome. What bhp are you aiming for?
Thanks mate 😁 about time I did a video 😂 I’ll be happy with 400bhp 👍 cheers
Great work mate, well done. Surprised to see that you didn't use retaing compound on that bearing and its bearer though. Did you feel it wont need it?
