      Front drive lose 10% of enginr power to the wheel. Rear drive 15% all wheel 20% so if the tire can hold the grip, front wheel is the most efective way to use power for speed. It means if cars have same engine power front drive car will be the fastest one.

    • @DragonKnightX12
      @DragonKnightX12 Рік тому

      @@youngmoon8762Not entirely true. The biggest problem with FWD is traction.
      When you're doing fast acceleration the forces applied pushes down on the rear wheels and lifts up the front.
      So FWD cars are losing traction while RWD cars are gaining traction under high load.
      RWD cars also tend to have much better balance.
      RWD cars can also exit corners faster.
      That's why rear-mid engine cars are the most ideal. Minimal drivetrain loss, engine weight in the rear, and great balance. A shame no one can build one that's affordable anymore.

    Kona N design is really nice.

  • @afterburn2600
    @afterburn2600 2 роки тому +3

    Literally test drove both of these cars today, prior to even seeing that this video was being released.
    Our take (prior to watching the video): The Elantra N is a better car in almost all ways. It is more spacious on the interior, feels nicer to drive, has more comfortable seats, and seems to put down the power better. The Kona N sort of wins in "utility" but that's only really ground clearance and the off chance you wish to drop the rear seats to fit something bigish in the upright hatch. Otherwise, the Elantra N easily takes the win.
    To put it into perspective, we own a Focus RS. The Elantra N surprisingly close to the RS. The N makes better exhaust noises, is still plenty quick and handles extremely well for a FWD, has more comfortable seats, has more room in general, and has newer tech. The RS makes better intake noises - including turbo noises, is sharper handling, faster, and uses rear biased AWD for really fun power delivery.
    We loved each to death and wish the dealers weren't playing the shenanigans they are. The Kona N was about $9k over listed MSRP and the Elantra N was $11k over MSRP (both USD). It's a damn shame. If it was even slightly near MSRP we'd likely jump at the Elantra N. For reference, I was offered any 3-series BMW for $2500 over MSRP (including the M3). Now, I realize the design is a bit polarizing so maybe that's affecting their value, but still...if the dealer markup on an M3 is that "low", the Hyundai offerings shouldn't be any worse.

      I just got a KONA N--I owned a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT and like the Kona better.I like sitting up higher--you need to realize hyundai paint is weak and the low sitting cars can have the door sills and skirts getting scuffed up easier.Also the elantras lower profile tires also means the rims can get scuffed up easier--on the slow mo at the start of this--i cringed watching the elantra going over the corner markers--I bet the elantras rims were scuffed up and unless they made a mistake the konas were not.
