He's lost weight several times. In 20-21 he was in the best shape of his life and then he had a freak injury halfway through the season, after a dunk against the Wizards.
Joel has a lot of bad luck with injuries. People who don't pay attention to his career, don't realise how hard he works to be in shape. However, he gets a lot of injury bad luck.
