MJ never made it a priority dunking on Mutombo until Mutombo decided to stress it.....
It is obvious, he will never recognize it, because it was a challenge that Mutombo issued, and they fulfilled it, he says that the hoop was covering him, jajajaja, it is clearly seen, that Mutombo knows that he is coming and he believes that the prey is coming, but It was one more dam for Jordan of more than 7', that is what really bothers Mutombo, knowing that his challenge came true
That part
I find it super impressive Dikembe went from being an All-Star in the NBA to voicing the Cookie Monster.
I definitely remember that game. MJ came baseline and went up, Mutumbo was a foot or two in the paint, he tried to contest it and failed. HE GOT BANGED ON. PERIOD!!
Michael Jordan is the ultimate competitor and if he puts you on his hit list, rest assured there will be a line through your name at some point before you leave the Earth.
Michael M.J. Jordan...He is not just one of the best basketball players but the best basketball player ever.
Bruh I’m sick of this era and the games bring back hand checking bring back the real teams that had passion to play for their team I miss the physicality and competitiveness
💯 cause half the game is now spent with the ball suspended in the air for 3s. Fouls for tapping. It sucks
That’s like saying bring back BLACK N WHITE TV… every thing in life changes bruh. Good or bad.
@@uncomfortabletruth7285 there was still colour tv back then Jesus level on intelligence for real! It certainly moved in a bad way for sure
I agree, basketball was so much better when they allowed hand checking, physical play and trash talking. The mental game getting into your opponents head and physical game should be part of the game. The NBA peaked in the 80's-90's.

If you are a HOF and you put two MJ posters in your basement, you know that MJ is that great lol
The thing is everyone knows Mike is the GOAT, whether they admit it or not. He got ONE dunk on Mutumbo throughout his whole career. That speaks volumes of Mutumbo's shot-blocking greatness. Just give the man his credit.
After the game, Craig asked Jordan about the dunk on Mutumbo and the finger waving afterward: "Is that something you're gonna regret?" Jordan: "No, (but) yeah, I do regret, cuz that's a technical foul. In retrospect, I'm giving the other team a point." Just one of many reasons Jordan is the best ever.
Great point.I was gonna point out him shooting and making a free throw with his eyes closed in a game.
I know it’s ‘just a free throw’ or whatever, but Lebron ain’t doing that.He doesn’t even take his teams technical free throws (yet another reason he ain’t the goat).Kobe never did that,Steph never has,KD never has,,not Kareem or Magic not Bird not wilt not russell,etc...
And again,I get that it’s ‘just a free throw’,but you gotta have a dif type of confidence to do that in a game mid conversation or mid shht talking with the opponent and to just be laughing about the situation the whole time...then of course he swished it.
And if any Kobe fans see this yea I know kobe bet $$👀 bla bla bla on a free throw and you gotta have crazy confidence to even suggest that etc etc etc yea I get it...but he didn’t close his eyes.Big difference.
@@dc4690 what this got to do with LeBron or any other all time greats, not to be that guy but can great players be great 👍🏽.
Re-read my post
@@dc4690 I understood
Then why’d you ask what it had to do with Lebron?
I was just pointing out yet another reason Lebron,Kobe our whoever else is nowhere near MJ.I do that any time I get a chance.
Dumb fans need to stop acting like Lebron or anybody else is the goat over MJ.Shit is getting annoying.
Growing up watching this era and the coverage afterwards. Mutumbo is such a light hearted jokester that he just talks s*** to the goat because he can. I find it hilarious. There’s not a lot of content about mutumbo. But he can always be a part of the goats content
I would like that too now that you say it. Him on the 76ers with AI. I know there is some funny but serious stories about his career/life.
And this was 34 years old jordan
Poor Mutambo! He’s a legend but boy he sure is in denial!😂 Bless his heart!🙏🏾
😂😂😂 Poor Mutombo you mean poor Patrick Ewing MJ still call this man to talk trash to this day Ewing said MJ been talking trash for 40 years non stop
@@shaunkoger8096 Ewing is the one player that I really feel sorry for, for having the misfortune of playing his WHOLE career during the Jordan era. Jordan was snatching rings from Ewing since his college days! Ewing's entire career was haunted by MJ! smh lol
@@brileygabriel4949 I know right lol
It's Ok he just landed the gig as the next voice of Cookie Monster 😂

He got served a facial with a side of his own finger wag signature and MJ left this man in denial until to this day😂

I still love Mutumbo because he brought it every night DPOY great respect.
You hold the goat to one dunk, that’s pretty damn good.
Mj never made a point to dunk on him. He only blocked mj like 2x ever too
Mutombo sent MJ flyyyiinnggg the other direction. @@tedbear6012
If I close my eyes Dikembe sounds just like Cookie Monster....it's amazing
Lmao 🤣🤣
Ha ha ha ha ha 😂 😄 😆
Lol,you wrong 4 that,lol
Now that’s all I hear lmfaoo
HAHAAHAAH COOKIESSSSSSS
The mere fact we are talking about a 6 foot 6 Guard. hunting & dunking on a 7 foot centers tells you all you need to know about how amazing MJ vertical & strength was.
I want to "like" your comment, but it's perfectly at 23! 👍🏾
Was really 6'4 ish but yeah
I'm 5'9 and i could dunk a 9' foot rim 😁😁 a 6'6' should jump on top of the rim ! Tire of something that is easy because of their height, that we make a big deal out if it !
48" vertical, still the NBA record. Sit down Rodney.
Matomba was right though he had to go under the rim and I never seen Jordan dunk that fast as if he was scared
When you try to block, you accept the challenge!
You just gotta love the intensity that an offensive player like MJ would bring & Mutumbo was a Sho Nuff, shot blocker ✌🏾
Dikembe mutombo could make a lot of money being the voice of a cartoon villain
cookie monster drunk!!
It brings a tear to my eye because I was fortunate enough to be able to see for 12 years what Micheal did to people, he was was and is the smoothest basketball player ever. He never disappointed, ever.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Jordan brought an energy and vibe unseen these days. Regular games had playoff energy. We were lucky.
Someone being good at a game makes you cry?
@@codycomstock3260 He wasn't good. He was the greatest.
@@eroccha Someone being the greatest at playing a game is a silly reason to cry.
@@codycomstock3260 No one actually said cry. Try rereading the OP and this time think exaggeration, humor or enhancing a point to show how special MJ was.
I remember watching this when it happened. At the time I had no idea what the backstory was, I just remembered Johnny Red Kerr flipping out. I thought it was just because Mutumbo was doing the finger wag that whole year. And I remember Red Kerr being so furious that they gave Jordan a technical on the finger wag. You were great
😂😂😂I was about to turn 19 when I saw this I remember him gettin Mark Eaton and Manute Bol and those two are 7’4 and 7’7 im still like wtf 26 years later
Mutombo: what a personality!
Dikembe STILL salty about that one!!! lol Jordan planted a flag on the top of Mount Mutombo! It happened!!!
Those Atlanta Hawks jerseys were fire 🔥
Now Dikembe is a believer of the saying " Never talk trash to Mike " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🙌
After 7 years bro😂😂
@@colaseuguens5070still counts though 😂
@@colaseuguens5070it was never a challenge to mike until he brought it up
MJ dunked on centers LBJs greatest dunk reel was against Isaiah Thomas who was 6'1.
Yea Lebron do be trying to pick on the smaller guys 😂 I still remember the couple of times he got John Lucas III when he played for the bulls. Lucas Lil Ass did surprisingly get his lick back and actually dunked on Lebron after he got postered but I don’t think that makes up for after the 1 time when Lebron had his sack on my mans head 😭🤦🏾♂️
Did you see the change in Michael Jordan's body language when mutombo said Scotty did?? Just the body language alone and the way he starts rocking side to side says I am going to vanquish this guy!!
Lolol I didn't peep that, but this whole thing is funny. Some folk just don't get it. It's like investing time and energy into someone that actively goes out of their way to show you that when it comes to his game, you can't touch him. It's just a matter of time before he consciously chooses to show out, or shows out based on the right "opportunity" presenting itself. There's hype, and then there's reality!
@@junglekutz5625 I can just tell that his mind became very active as soon as mutombo said Scotty dunked on him but Jordan never did. Maybe I noticed it more than others because I have a similar personality in some ways to Michael Jordan so I know what was going on and I know he went home and just thought about it and thought about it and thought about it and that was mutombo's undoing LOL.
@bryantnonya8704 maybe.....I have no idea. But based on how he has readily reacted to others on the court to show and prove whatever (based on whomever annoying him).....needing to think about or "over think" what comes natural to him, doesn't seem to be the drive behind how his mind works.
When mj mad,he will get his revenge ingame. But when lebum got mad,he will cry on ref and ask for a tech
Dikembe wanted Michael to dunk on him.
Lol!
Bronsexual spotted
9:29 come on Dikembe you were under the basket and he had to go through the baseline, he went for you and he got you.
Como’n you now it’s more easy to Dunk than block so even MJ IS ONE OF THE BEST I DO KOT AGREE WITH ONLY ONE TIME DUNK OVER HIM.
I think it's Patrick Ewing's fault bcoz it's him that said " he never dunk on you, never put you on the highlights!".
Hahhaaaaa😂😂😅❤🎉🎉🎉.
Ewing got dunked on baited MUTOMBO.
God I remember that, it was all hyped up in the Media leading up to that series. Mutumbo was a defensive stopper and could Jordan drive to the hoop with him there. That's all we heard, well we know how that all worked out.
Dikembe you had enough time to contest the dunk stop saying you were late. That's on you.
He was right there he missed the block
Yeah he was that was his fault and he verbally admitted it. Mutumbo did get dunked on but he said he did.
Tell us you can’t jump that high without telling us that you can’t.
He definitely stuffed it on his ass, he keeps saying it took 7 years, they only played 1 or 2 games a year at most, MJ destroyed everybody, a lot better players than Mutombo
Mitumbo also blocked him. That is basket
I watch this game when I was younger oh man I was going crazy. If you ever told MJ he couldn't do something you just f up
In slowmo. He saw him coming. Hehehe.
That's 1 reason why you should never talk trash to Michael Jordan. You talk trash to Michael Jordan he'll get his revenge
So when he told him I did not get you recently, he was telling the truth. thank you. 🧡
First! This series is amazing man thanks
U want me to call scottie....tht cracks me up everytime I see tht part!!
DM try to say he didn't look at it as being dunked on 🤣Nah big fella you Got Dunked On!!! 💯
Mutumbo should have just hushed. He started a fire while the camera was rolling...I said oh lord why did he say that? 🤭😆
Mutumbo was inaccurate about one of the things he said... Yes, he was coming from the opposite side of the rim BUT he reached the basket at the same time Jordan did. Regardless of the fact that Mutumbo is about a foot taller than MJ, MJ had an incredible vertical leap that he showed. Video doesn't lie
..and Mutombo, was in the zone as a real post, he got enough time and almost one xtra foot (in height) to go up and still with that advatnages, lost in front of MJ that was faster and with more courage and vertical over him!!
Dikembe Mutumbo: (blocks mike shot, waves finger) "NOT AT MY HOUSE!" Michael Jordan: when I saw him and heard him say that and that's when I took it personally 😂
“A man can not fly in the house of Mutombo.” Ok, maybe once. That’s good stuff man.
I still shudder remembering the brutality of a Pistons-Knicks series back then. Great times.
Our man Patrick Ewing left Dikembe Mutombo talking smack to the goat. It was funny we all knew Pat wanted to say to Dikembe "Don't go there, don't you go challenging Mike"
the great Ewing warning him in a cool way but Mutombo still go trash talking to the GOAT like a real stupid and then....Damn!!!
2 things we can evaluate:
1) MJ after 7years felt relieved, overjoyed, and closed a big chunk of a book chapter that has all the fans doubt about MJ unable to handle all the big guys in NBA. He finally dunked to the greatest blocker whom I prefer to call the "Great Wall of NBA". It was MJ's another great exploit and snd brought him to even further up to another level.
2) Dikee obviously is bitter since that dunk and couldn't move on every time he's confronted with that event thru interviews and conversations.
Actually, the fact that it took MJ 7years to put a dunk on Dikee shows a loud statement of how great a blocker really he was in NBA.
Dikee in fact has to only have to put up good wording arrangement of that line because as MJ accomplished it, it actually also elevated Dikee to a different level as the greatest blocker in NBA history.
Dikee doesn't have to resort on pulling up all his verbal machineries to prove his point and discredit MJ at the same time.
And u wonder why he says that ? we know the background story thanks to internet but I bet a lot a people didn’t even know it took m’n 7 years for that 1 dunk? And like he said that was not getting dunked on. He has the right to confront people that try to diminish his accomplishments
80s Mike would've tattood Mutombos face
Truth
😂 bruhhhhh that 80s game when he dunked on that kid and shattered the glass 😳 sheesh that dude mentally is probably still not okay
Oh I was looking for this comment ‘cause you best believe that would’ve happened.
No doubt!!!
'80s Mike struggled to get out of the first round of the Playoffs. Mark Eaton blocked Jordan a few times per game in a few different games.
Great content bro ,keep going💥
Amazing I am watching all of them, amazing work from your side my G Thanks ;)
I’ve heard that story a bunch of times, but this is actually really good video. Had some details that I didn’t know.
He got you dikembe your rookie year stop it
Is that personal to you, yeah a little bit.
There is no such thing as a little bit personal with mj, it's just personal hehe
The fact that MJ was past his prime can still do things unexpectedly .
Past his prime? Lol. His prime was quite long man
The fact is, a past prime MJ would dunk on Lechoke James any day of the week.
Great video
THEY ARE BOTH LEGENDARY
lol Dikembe is a legend 😂😂😂
This level of pride on offense & defense from both players has diminished. Happy I got to witness the golden era of basketball.
lol Dikembe is a legend, I like his argument. It wasn’t really on his head but it was enough to brag about 😂😂
He posterize you so quit saying you were late.
Gorgeous pass by Longley 9:02 to the left of Phil Jackson Bill "The Winner" Wennigton in street clothes lmfao! Popping off!
He should've said nothing then say after they both were in the Hall of Fame, MJ never Dunked on me!
MJ was like “Okay fine!” “At that point I took it personal!” Moral of the story NEVER challenge this man!
You gotta love DM's level of confidence. It's the only language MJ understands.
Mutumbo is fearless. He took a beating from Shaq day after day and still have his all. These guys are phenomenal 🔥
Could have spared us of the Kendrick Perkins footage! LMAO
Damn mutombo really reaching with the term "dunked on" 🤣
This was classic
Not a bonafide A+ on yuh head. Yet still a highlight. Now that history is a block buster lol
Healthy comp is always welcomed

Jordan has never climbed mount Mutombo! Lol what great Trash Talk
Miss this era of basketball. My childhood era. 90s competition has so much greats Jordan penny Ryder Webber Hill. Shaq Tim stark. .
Poor Dikembe learned a lesson many players did. Don’t get MJ hyped.
Why does manifestation only work with negatives?
Why can't I seem to manifest a lottery win?
What are the manifestation rules?
Haha! Great point 😄
Motumbo is a class act. I have 2 of them.. 😂
"You'll never take cookie monster's cookies! No, no , no!"
Dekembe is hilarious.😂
Fire 🔥 Content King 🤴.... 🤴
I love Mutombo’s swagger though... sooooo funny.
The thing about these videos is that they make you smile ear to ear having been alive to see these games. Awesome!! These should all be preserved in HD digital for infinity.
I remember being a bulls fan and knowing mutumbo as the last big wall.
Mutombo, if that wasn’t really a dunk “on” you, then you have to admit your block on Jordan was a Foul. You may have got the ball, but that was a lot of body too 😅
The dunk was a three point play too
so ur better than the ref?is that what u mean?😅😅..ur comment shows that u got a better skill than the ref..so what is ur job now?

Basketball use to be so nice back then on so fun lot of superstars that never win a championship but we still appreciate them
I love Mutumbo and all the great things that he has done. But he looks kind of pathetic in this. You got dunked on by the greatest ever, there is no shame in that.

Dikembe should start a Mt. Mutombo Cookie Company.
Us Dudes that lived thru the 90's know this story already... Lol..
I'll never forget the time Money free soloed Mt. Mutombo.
What MJ said about doing the finger wave is a great example of the mentality a leader needs to have in a team sport... He got his moment but he cost the team a point and realizes that it was wrong.
It's the shoes, the competitors and the stories that add up to make Jordan the GOAT in addition to the 6-0. Lebron doesn't have any such stories like this.
Idk know why…. But videos like this have me smiling the whole time. Why son whos 3 asked “why are you smiling daddy” I told him I’m watching my super hero…
Mutombo only played MJ once in the playoffs; that's why MJ "only" dunked on him once.
Growing up an Jordan fan, I remember the Nuggets were a tough match up to the Bulls because of Mutumbo. It always seemed like he took his game to another lever because of Mike, and would end up with 3-5 blocks against them. There are several blocks he had against Jordan indeed. He was lucky he didn’t catch a young Jordan or he would have really gotten dunked on the way he described getting dunked on meant.
With all due respect....Dik was late on the help. That give and go was fast. Mike already had a running start when he got the bounce pass, and it's definitely hard to see a bounce pass from the weak side.
Dik probably thought Moke was just running to the other side. By the time he realized Mike got a bounce pass, Dik was still on the other side of the lane....Lol.
Mt. Mutombo set himself up. T-Mac got him too, but Mutombo wasn’t letting anyone dunk on him while he was in Denver. All Defensive top three for 9 years straight and 4 time all defensive player of the year, he was probably on a lot of people’s dunk list
i bet pat ewing in his mind laughing and saying just wait his coming at you..😂😂😂
Mike gave Mutumbo his flowers on that Dunk 😮😅😂😂
My 3yr old daughter knows who Mutombo is. She has his finger wag and says ,"nuh teen my house!" DIKEMBEEEE!!!
thx for the vids They are a history lesson is why MJ is the GOAT. Some come close but MJ is untouchable. He was savage and worked hard and was an awesome clutch player. He did have some bad games but he was a fierce competitor and whatever he struggled with he worked on to become a better player.I thik the player kinda like Mike but in a diferent way of doing it is the great Steph Curry)
that was the day that only jordan was better in evry position..but not today..evry player had the skill to do evrything..but im not saying todays player are the best than before.cus its a deffrnt style of play, rules and physicality..
