I got some 12 lows this year that I wanted SO bad and they’re perfect….except a few parts of the rubber on the right sole - including the Jumpman - is unfinished or something, because it takes 100000% more damage/grime than the other side. Purchased from Nike. Bizarre. Supposedly when/if it comes back - it was a limited release of course - I’ll still be under warranty….but of course my size was gone right away..ugh

A LOT of what you are paying for is the licensing of the brand logo. Dupes/fakes are often times made in the exact same factories by the same people with the same equipment, but when you cut out the costs you pay for licensing, distribution, marketing and retail, you are suddenly able to get the exact same product at a fraction of the price.

You didn't get psi readings in the air units because you need to be standing in them for them to be under pressure. The compression of the sole decreases the volume of the air unit. This in turn increases the pressure of the neutral gasses. They cannot put compressed gas in the foam because it would bleed out due to atmospheric pressure differences. Decreasing the volume through sole compression is realistically the only way to create a pressurized pocket that isn't rigidly encased. This is why other manufactures also use this method.

I just bumped into your channel as it is my first winter in NY from living in Florida all my life. I love the channel, already learned so much! The one thing I’d love to see to make this 200% is also a pragmatic test wearing them out to get a better insight into how you feel them in terms of comfort, grip, features etc.
I get really picky with shoes in general and despite all the tech jargon and hype I ended up liking pumas which never called my attention, they are by far the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever tried. So the actual irl use review would take your channel to the most complete level of user review value for me. Thanks a lot, it’s really cool all the care you put into this channel! ❤

I own both real and rep AJ1’s. If you buy reps from a reputable source, no one will be able to tell when they are on foot out in the world. If I can score what I want for retail great. If I can’t purchase them but really want to wear them, I have zero issue getting a rep. At my age, I don’t worry what some kid thinks about my footwear. I come from an era where you could just walk into a store and buy whatever you needed, and it was in stock.

It's not about worrying about getting called out for fake flexing. For me, the thrill of the hobby is hunting and getting authentic shoes in my collection. I don't want a replica collection. I'd rather go without the shoe until I'm able to get a real pair. If reps is your thing, I don't look down on you for your preference. But your thing doesn't have to be everyone else's. Plus I sell and trade pairs in my collection because it's constantly evolving. Buying reps would severely limit this. A lot of the time I can sell a shoe I've worn for months and still get the money I paid for it back and more. Can't do this with fake shoes unless you're a scumbag.
