Given the shifts in the contemporary art market today, I'd love an update on this video. My very best art investing advice is still, buy what you love!
Masterworks is sketchy they force you to deal with their sales people who are unrelenting. People should Be able to invest if they want with no annoying sales people needed. Anything that tries to sell you so hard should be avoided esp in the bougie art world lol.
I've had a good experience with Masterworks so far. They do a very good job explaining each art piece, why they think it's valuable, and the research they've done on it. They also are transparent about past paintings' earnings. I think it's an interesting way to invest your money after you max out your 401k and IRA. Most people are highly leveraged in both real estate [if you own your own home] and the stock market, and most non-accredited investors don't much access to non-shady alternatives. Just keep in mind, art is a long-term investment, and the likelihood that you know which paintings will appreciate in price and which ones won't is slim. For that reason, I'm purchasing shares from numerous different types of paintings and artists. Hopefully it will pay out in the end!
The royal flush of shilling: Robinhood, random crypto and an unregulated asset market like masterworks. Be careful people, the art market is more prone to scams and liability issues due to the legal status of the market and art has terrible liquidity in the first place.
So is this another one of those companies like FTX that you guys peddle to get your cut? I remember when all the tube financial gurus were peddling FTX and to sign up with their link. On to the next one!

How is your investment doing today? I'm thinking of doing the same thing and I need a heads up.
I have heard a lot on Masterworks beings shady… not sure of them though I have one share of a painting. I am just going to be very cautious.
Where did you hear that?
Hey there! I’m an artist, how can I get my clients to be able to have stock in my artwork?
I will probably invest on silver now I do not want my painting to get ruined! It is just my thinking.
