Really enjoying this content! Deciding on the strategy of WHY you might buy before you make a purchase is so important. I also love to remind folks that at every level there's a space to follow your personal tastes and curiosities so you can become your own expert in what you love!
Passion buy: went into a little antique shop on my way to work, just to have a browse and ended up buying a pair of paintings which reminded me of a holiday I went to 20 years ago, I don't intend to sell these and don't care if they are not worth anything or depreciate in value if they are worth something. I bought to enjoy and keep.
I stumbled upon this video but I am glad I found it! I purchased a passion piece two weeks ago and I have been researching the process of buying art! Thanks and I will be watching your other videos! Also I followed you on IG
Hey Gerald! Thanks for watching, passion pieces are often times the one we fall in the most love with. It doesn’t always serve us to search for monetary return in art. Focus on loving the piece. 💕
Hey, I’m on masterworks looking into investing in my first piece of artwork! My question is.. is it best to form an LLC for investing art or “invest of the behalf of myself” as the website says. Thanks
Great video! This is the kind of information I was looking for. What kind of questions did Masterwork ask you to determine your eligibility for membership?
Hi Irving! No, no dividends. Maybe that may be something we could see happen in the future, but not now. Buying shares of art is extremely new in itself, and if you invest in different assets, and you’re interested in buying shares of art.. I would say try to view it as diversifying your overall portfolio, not to make immediate or monthly profit.
Hi, thank you for the video. I see the return or value the artworks have gone up in the years since sold. So If I invest in an art on Masterworks and my investment goes up. Can I sell my shares or am I lock in for x amount of years into this investment?
It’s tricky. They’ve changed a few things since I was accepted. They require an immigrate investment into one of the pieces. As long as you can show them you have the capital they will let you in. I have my thoughts about this process but that’s for a different day. Lol Let me know how it goes if you go through the interview. 🤎
