It’s always so rewarding to upgrade something you must touch every time you use it. Puts a good smile on your face, warms your heart, and inspires what you’re making next. 👍👍😎👍👍. Cheers Cam

    Hi Cam.
    Great build mate 👍
Making tools etc. is rewarding, because every time you ‘use’ the tool, you get to re-live the design and making of same.
Compliments of The Season….. looking forward to your endeavours in 2023.
    Regards,
    Robert

Thankyou Gary, all the best to you and your family for the new year. Hope you traveling well, had my last screening in November and still all clear. Unfortunately my specialist that I have been with for the last three years has just retired so he has referred me onto a new specialist who is taking on all his current patients. Don't like change, especially when you have developed a trusting tell all relationship.

Gday Cam, the new handle setup looks great and much better being shiny the blued, im not a fan of cold blue look, I’m really glad the Hangsterfers way oil has worked out good, it’s definitely worth spending that bit extra and honestly I think it’ll will save money in the long run by not running off the ways, great video as always mate, cheers

Thanks Paul, havn't had much time with UA-cam lately due to work commitments so still trying to catch up. New Years day here now and I'm just up after 16 hours on a breakdown at the Refinery on New Years Eve and 14 Hours the day before. I'm never working the Christmas/New Year break as the sole plant Maintenance Superintendent again. Looking forward to what you dish up to us this year. I do watch your video's but sometimes don't get the time comment.

Hi Cam, I noticed that at 16:36, you have a cut out on the slideway where the pin fits. Originally this is so you can drill and tap for a locking screw ( half in the pin and half in the slideway) to prevent the pin from rotating, might be a good idea to reinstate that at 180 degs. I know the pin was a tap in fit, but over time it might work itself loose hence the screw. All the best to you and yours for the new year.

Now 1ginner, I was wondering who would pick that up so I left out commentary on it. The stub that came out from the Multiflex Tooling had the matching "half hole". I was going to re-drill with a slot drill in the same location for either a Roll Pin or a Scotch Key (not a big fan of Scotch Keys). I'll see how it goes, if there is movement I'll do the modification. Nice observation though.

Good one Cam . I have to make up a new wiper holder in my next video . Personally i would not put a spring under the post , i think it may let coolant & crap drift in there . I wonder what the cost of a genuine Dickson from 600 Machinery would be nowdays ! 👍

Yes, I was thinking that crap would get under it as well. No gap - no crap.

G'Day Max, very good point on the lifting of the Tool Post. I'll leave the mod for now and see how it goes. Its funny I spent 15 hr's yesterday in one of my machinist contractors workshop yesterday on a breakdown for the Refinery. His facility is large with a huge assortment of CNC and manual machines, while I was there I checked out a few of the Tool Posts and out of the six of the small manual lathes three of them had a spring arrangement that lifted when the nut was released. Funny what you look at when your feeling stressed out. All the best to you and the family for the New Year and really looking forward to how the new shop develops.

Hi Cam, lifting the tool post when loosening the capstan with Bellville washer could introduce chips between the mating surfaces, maybe causing more problems, just my take on it.

G'day Pierre, yes I agree. My videoing and editing does need a lot of work to make it better. I'm only using a very cheap camera for UA-cam but really need to spend (gotta save up) money and upgrade what I have to improve the quality. Thankyou for your honest comment, much appreciated.
