Dan & Mick are slacking off again. They forgot the horn for Danish Pete name drop. Speaking of Danish Pete, he should definitely do a guest appearance on That Pedal Show. Thumbs up for Danish Pete on That Pedal Show.
Mick on a Tele needs to happen more often. Some killer KILLER tones today boys! It made think 💭 that is like to see and hear tones in context if songs like when Mick was playing Ryan Adam today. Pick a few favourite song tones that you love and use and how you get them.
Hi Dan and Mick, and Michael, quick story about the Mudhoney... I was in Copenhagen last week and stumbled across a pokey little blues club called Mojo late one evening. There was a very good band playing mainly covers, but the guitarist had one of the best drive tones I've ever heard. After the gig, and about 7 pints, I approached the guy (luckily he spoke very good English) and enquired about his rig... he was playing a baja tale through a rented fender Princeton, with a katana boost and an original mudhoney on the floor (powered with batteries). One of the best sounds I've ever heard... great video as always guys.
What an absolutely cracking guy! Those pedals though. Low-gain OD, High-gain OD, Tape Delay, Trem, Reverb... I could quite literally have all five of those pedals and be set for life. And by life I mean about 2 months when I start craving some other wonderous noise device!
Mike is quite literally the third best thing on UA-cam. He's an absolute nut and is just SOOOOOOO passionate and anyone who sets out with a mission to bring monstrous tone and bottles of booze to the guitar playing world is a giant in my book! He needs his own channel. I'd tune in without fail. Great show again fellas, I am all over that Mudhoney reissue when it's release, sounds sensational.
heh heh. this made me chuckle but I would love to see this happen. Could you image the epic-ness of the episode? We need to petition Mr Gilmour to visit and bring along some of his pedals.
Twould be beyond amazing all right! As superstars go, infinitely long shot though it may be, he seems one of the more approachable don-to-earth ones. So in other words Dan & Mick will have failed miserably if they don't make this happen.
Who the hell has been to Pompeii,, twice? Sorry I was doing a little `There's Something About Mary' reference, except that was San Tiago. Anyway he obviously has time for this show being there is nothing better that a guitarist can do than to be on `That Pedal Show'. Therefor, I agree, if we do not see Mr. Gilmour on here, say in a couple months, it will be because Dan and Mick didn't do it.
Nolan Derosia - I'll go ahead and throw Johnny winter's name in the hat. Don't believe me? Have a listen to manish boy by muddy waters, hear the original hype man himself in the mix
Must admit, I hurriedly checked around for one as well, but I just dropped coin on some other gear earlier today. Congrats on a killer reverb! I am pretty satisfied with my Neunaber Immerse.
I just received my Replicator Jr. On Tuesday. I haven't left my room since. Just inspiring to play. It's a lot of $$$, but so worth it. Best piece of gear I've bought in a long time
After years of therapy, I managed to purge all nightmarish memories of tape hiss. Hearing it again makes me weep inside, like a child without a gift on Christmas morning. That Mudhoney though - gorgeous.
You never need to actually tell us whether you like a pedal or not - we can tell by how inspired your playing is. It's fair to say on the evidence of this video that this TRex gear is well liked.👍🏻
+James Goddin Glad you get it James. It’s why we love certain guitar and other gear a bit less... and of course that will be different for everyone. Our whole message is to try to get everyone to understand that the right gear can inspire you to new heights. And it doesn’t have to be expensive - it just has to be inspirational. Thanks for watching and the for the kind words!
The perfect end to my week - three superb guitarists get emotional over a tape delay unit, and I get every bit of that to the extent that I now want a T-Trex Replicator! Lovely show guys and well appreciated! Love the show and really appreciate your humour and camaraderie!
Mick ‘Groovy Cat’ Taylor. Looks like you got your blues name! The delay was ace, but honestly for me, I think the standouts here are the drive pedals. Never really heard them before, but they sound bloody good.
Just delicious, addicting, and somehow nutritious ear candy. I have no doubt that the next guitar hero is going to reference That Pedal Show as one of their biggest inspirations.
Um, I meant an IRL guitar hero like EVH, Clapton or Page... Now if the next Guitar Hero video game has a pedal order mini-game then there will surely be reference to this channel. LOL
I think you guys have found a way to bring back those games. There could be an option that allows you to bring in Dan to sort out your board between sets. He could take us on a lesson in what does what and where and why. I'd play it just to hear him talk about pedals.
Love the Danes! The tape echos are such a luxury to have but I can't see myself ever bringing one to the gigs I play. I could but it just isn't as practical as analog/digital boxes on a board. My mind would be held hostage a bit because of reliability. But....they are friggin' awesome! The playtime at the end of the vid made me smile, but this show has given me numerous grins. Keep 'er up boys.
I cannot deny how amazing that delay sounds!! Out of this world!! I have always been a digital delay person (DD3 and timeline) but that's something else entirely, something very special!! Big boy effects!!
That Pedal Show Many thanks for the reply, Dan. Don't think for a moment your playing goes unnoticed. I honestly don't know how you guys do it on the fly like that. Truly inspiring! Btw, I bought a new (pre owned) amp tonight (Headstrong Lil King) and played it through a DM Drive at times. Just killer!
Hey guys!! This is the best show ever! I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! My suggestion: call Rob Harris (Jamiroquai) for a talk.. he seems to be a nice guy, and a gear geek as well.. Keep rockin'!
that Replicator Junior is pure magic. When I turn it on in my band (which is half the time) and you get a tape glitch I feel a rush of happiness going through me. I also just discovered that the tape design is the same as the dual headed Replicator, meaning you can actually move the delay head and half the pedal's delaytime. It now does slapback! Not sure about the warranty, it's just one screw.
not to be off topic, but, well...I'm gonna do it anyhow ;) Mick, just heard that jam session from Guitcon with you singing.. RIGHT ON! Love your voice (and of course, your guitpicking)! Dan, of course you were awesome too (on bass even) and the songs with Mary were super fun!
Hey Dan - I just got a Replicator Jr. this week - to go with my new Two Rock Classic Reverb. (See my post/question to Mick in another Video...) The Two Rock is incredible by the way. Mick was right - whole world changed. My question is actually on POWERING the Replicator Jr. Everything says ONLY use the power supply provided by T-Rex - but I know you don't do that with the Gig Rig...so If my Power supply (Yankee HSM10) can handle the VCPI...lol...then I should be fine, right? They just have to put that warning on for others that don't know what they are doing?
Hey Tyler. Mick here - congrats on the Classic Reverb. It’s a beast, right?!? You can use a separate power supply for the Replicator just as long as you satisfy it’s VCPI requirements. Voltage must be exact Current is a minimum, so exceeding the current is okay Polarity must be correct Isolation is important but there will be no damage if it’s not isolated - just noise I’ll also add that you just need to make sure the barrel connector is the right size and shape. I can’t remember what the Replicator has - I think it’s standard, but some aren’t. Good luck!
That Pedal Show thanks again fellas. It astounds me how many times you've responded to my comments and in such a timely fashion. Don't know how you do it but I'm sure glad you do!! Cheers,
First off: I really really love this show. Thank you for everything you have teached me and the love for tone that once felt ridiculous but now I know I share with others. That being said, being from south america, I beg you please don't call America to the US. We really take offense about it because you know, not only are we many more and much more diverse that one country, most of us thank their influence in music but at the same time transcende it and make our own. I can happily point you to some examples if you can bear not understanding lyrics. Thank you both once again!
+Javier Burgos Hi Javier. So we call the USA the USA, not ‘America’, right? Apologies for any offence caused. Most Americans can’t distinguish between the England, Scotland and Australia. And they have no idea what Wales is at all, so we sort of get it. Ireland is in Brooklyn though, apparently. Cheers!
Love it. And that Tele is great, Mick! Not sure I've seen one with that pickup combination before. A couple show ideas for you... 1) Acoustic guitar! Dan said the other week something about using the D&M with acoustic. So talking through an acoustic board, what pedals, how you use drives, mod, compression, analog vs digital delay, etc. Maybe that's a few shows. I don't know. 2) Difference between "modern" & "classic" voiced ODs. Sometimes people reference an OD being classically voiced or having a modern voicing and I'm not sure what that means in terms of eq, clipping, etc. Thanks so much for educating and inspiring so many of us!
+Kyle B Thanks Kyle. I took a chisel to the Tele and put the TV Jones in myself. Hatchet job. :0) I’d love to do a show on acoustics - Mick here. I play more acoustic than electric truth be told. Dan is the same and we have very contrasting approaches.... ALL plugged-in acoustics sound terrible, so maybe we can discuss the work-arounds. Modern and classic OD. We’re not sure either, but maybe a ‘What Is Overdrive Anyway?’ show is in order. Thanks for watching!
This is an old vid at this point....but, I think Michael is one of my favorite guests you guys have had on the show. I must watch this episode at least once a week still. Get him back even if it’s just to hang out. Not to mention the selection from TRex is top notch.
Ok seriously guys, I only JUST received the Delay Llama you enablers forced me to buy. Now I need a Replicator to go with that and my other 5 delay pedals. Oh, and a Mudhoney. And a Reverb pedal they don’t even make. You make it very difficult to keep loving you sometimes. 😋
Wow! what a great sounding pedal …. that has to be my next pedal …. that T-rex Replicator sounds amazing!I have been looking for a delay pedal for some while but just couldn’t decide what to go for. I have tried some top end boutique pedals and they didn’t seem to offer me more than my old Boss DD7. But maybe tape is the way to go!
+Alles Gitarre Thank you sir. Now go and listen to Shawn Tubbs, David Grissom, Matt Schofield, Joey Landreth and Michael Landau and put that right. :0)
Wow! Thanks guys! I learn something new each week and today I realized that T-Rex may be the best sounding brand out there right now. I have a replicator and love it! But the Alberta and mudhoney damn! Oh and mode 4 of the roommate! Just fantastic sounding stuff! Get ready reverb I'm having a yard sale!
The Replicator is so awesome, like the big brother! And the Mudhoney sounds great aswell! Actually all Pedals today sounded brilliant... I just had an idea for a shootout video that might be nice. Two Channel Amplifier vs. Clean Amplifier with Overdrive Pedals vs. Distorted Amplifier with Pedals!
I think I'll be buying an Alberta and a Mudhoney in the near future. It's been a long while since I've heard a drive that blows me away. They sound killer.
Officially you guys have made Tape Delay the only delay I love. The sounds, the noise of scratchy tape being spun just as white noise in the background. The day I finally buy one my bank account will put some voodoo juju on you two, but my tone will be grateful. And yes T.Rex it would be this tape delay.
Awesome show & what a sound... that tape delay & Alberta! Dan I have a Room-Mate also and love it! I wish they would do the M0ller OD circuit on its own without the boost from the hand made Denmark line
Something Mick said sparked a question. Is there such a thing as a “lossless digital echo pedal”? If so does such a device have a minimum delay setting due to sampling latency? Do tonal “flavors” such as tape or analog etc cause additional processing latency or are they handled via a preamp, tone stack or a separate chorus engine. Just a thought.
The Replicator can sound good, but it is also a bit of a pain. The tape needs to be adjusted often, binds all the time (as it did at 8:00) and also you can frequently hear the splice go by the heads. For me, it might be more trouble than it is worth. Still haven't brought myself to sell yet though.
Spose I better start saving... that tape delay with gain sounds unreal! The mudhoney is beautiful. Both needed for my board now and you guys are awesome! Thanks for the great content as always!
I hope you guys get to stop somewhere else in the states other than just Riff City in Minnesota. Great store, and probably a nice town, but still. If you're gonna be shooting shows with Americans who can't or won't get themselves to the U.K., I'd love to see Brian Wampler and Robert Keely.
+Whiskers B Hello - we hope to plan a series of American trips, maybe even one long one at some point. At the moment everything needs to happen fast however. We both have day jobs so taking time off is tough!
37:10 geez guys save some for the next show. I'm really impressed w/ the sounds/ playing today. Makes my day. Cross for fingers on the 5% chance to see you in MN
Love the show guys! Just tossing a few ideas into the episode exploration hat, I’d love to see a show on speaker efficiency and/or cabinet construction. For instance I have a little 12 watt American voiced amp that came stock with a single 75 watt 10 inch speaker, and an ac30 with two 15 watt alnico blues. Both sound fantastic, but why? An exploration and conversation on this topic would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I recently purchased a d and m drive and absolutely love it. I just rewatched an old episode you guys did where you discussed selecting overdrives (and pedals of all kinds) to match up with a specific amp, rather than the idea of how to make pedals work with every amp. I loved that concept and find it to be very very true! Thanks again for all your hard work!
+ghostofshiloh Hello! We have plans to address speakers in a short series of episodes. Such a fascinating topic, but one that comes with a massive warning about there being no answers! It’s all personal preference and yet another variable in the whole ecosystem of guitar/pedals/amps etc. Played clean they all seem to sound okay. It’s when there’s overdrive and volume that it all changes. Should be interesting. Thanks for watching and for the kind words! And for buying the D&M. :0)
@@metalloid3417 It sounds great!! Extremely warm repeats!! At full feedback and decay, you can still play over the oscillation! It's pretty cool! I posted a short little video on my channel!
@@justinbutler3465 Just listened to it. Sounds pretty good man, guess you helped sell another one of these things haha. Well, at least you will have when I get the money in about 3 weeks.
Dan & Mick are slacking off again. They forgot the horn for Danish Pete name drop. Speaking of Danish Pete, he should definitely do a guest appearance on That Pedal Show.
Thumbs up for Danish Pete on That Pedal Show.
+Don Karnage Yes yes, it’s in the works. When //things// happen. ;0)
Thumbs up for Danish Pete on everything. Even stuff where there is no guitar playing. Pete could fix that.
The Alberta into the Replicator is something else! Must be something in the water in Denmark...also, Dan's Tele is the best I've ever heard. Unreal!
+Buck and Evans Hahaha! You know what’s coming next then Chris. When you coming on the show?
That Pedal Show Haha. I'm ready when you are mate! Did I see you were off the US? I'll pop in for a cuppa when you're back if that suits 😊
I love Friday mornings again. Thanks guys!
Mick on a Tele needs to happen more often. Some killer KILLER tones today boys! It made think 💭 that is like to see and hear tones in context if songs like when Mick was playing Ryan Adam today. Pick a few favourite song tones that you love and use and how you get them.
Completely agree. Mick sounded unreal on that Tele!
Andrew Gordon That's got me seriously considering a TV Jone in the neck of my Tele.
Hi Dan and Mick, and Michael, quick story about the Mudhoney... I was in Copenhagen last week and stumbled across a pokey little blues club called Mojo late one evening.
T-Rex guy is gentlemen and a great person. Thank you for this video!
Get Dave Gilmour in when the Echorec is done to put it thru its paces. Offer him tea and biscuits and maybe a t shirt.
If that happens, Dan and Mick should dress as Wayne and Garth going “we are not worthy!”.
heh heh. this made me chuckle but I would love to see this happen.

Yeah. If only Gilmour were a UA-camr. Can you imagine him doing panels and workshops at future GuitCon's? OMG.
Michael Pagaard is the ultimate hype man.
+Nolan Derosia Nope, he’s in The White House.
Nolan Derosia Flavor Flav would be the correct answer.
Nolan Derosia - I'll go ahead and throw Johnny winter's name in the hat. Don't believe me? Have a listen to manish boy by muddy waters, hear the original hype man himself in the mix
5 years later...The Echorec is finally ready...As an original Replicator user, I'm very excited!
This is the best sound on the show, to this day.
That Viking man is totally awesome! He has a customer from me for sure!
I wasn't even aware of the Roommate. Once again, I hit pause and just scored one off Reverb. You guys are killing me.
+Bruce Johnson YES!
Must admit, I hurriedly checked around for one as well, but I just dropped coin on some other gear earlier today. Congrats on a killer reverb! I am pretty satisfied with my Neunaber Immerse.
Did the same thing!
I just received my Replicator Jr. On Tuesday. I haven't left my room since. Just inspiring to play. It's a lot of $$$, but so worth it. Best piece of gear I've bought in a long time
+Chuck Shook Nice one Chuck - we think we might have to add one to That Pedal She’d. :0)
That Pedal Show I also have your D&M drive. It's replaced my boost and drive pedals. Such a great pedal!!
Same here Chuck!
I could listen to you guys banter all day! Love it.
Wow. Best pedal sounds I've ever heard. Hands down.
Thanks for another great episode fellas. All the tones were superb!
Now if there could just be a button I could press, when my star power bar is full, that makes me sound like I play like Mick.
Love my old Mudhoney. It's great drive.
When Dan started playing his Les Paul through the Mudhoney, i think a little tear of joy slipped from my eyes... AWESOME tone
Super inspired by this episode. Playing, pedals, and of course the replicator!!! What a great time.
28:25 Haha Mick’s face in absolute wonderment! 😂
I think this is the Best episode I have ever seen!
This sounded simply incredible
T Rex are just awesome..all their stuff is mindblowing
Love the Alberta, been using it for years, I regard it as one of the worlds best overdrives
Fingers crossed for a TPS/T-Rex Room Mate special.
I cannot deny how amazing that delay sounds!! Out of this world!! I have always been a digital delay person (DD3 and timeline) but that's something else entirely, something very special!! Big boy effects!!
That intro by Mick was truly outstanding. He's always been a terrific player, but lately seems to be taking it to another level. Kudos!
+ZenDriveSeven Dan here, totally agree. He went off for a week with Rabea and came back on fire!

Btw, I bought a new (pre owned) amp tonight (Headstrong Lil King) and played it through a DM Drive at times. Just killer!
Michael Pagaard!!! Best rep ever!!!
The T rex Michael is a great guy. awesome show!
"RIGHTEOUS"... my favourite Dan saying :D
that was... just a whole lot of fun for me ... had a great time, thank you once again
Hey guys!! This is the best show ever! I watched EVERY SINGLE EPISODE!
My suggestion: call Rob Harris (Jamiroquai) for a talk.. he seems to be a nice guy, and a gear geek as well..
Keep rockin'!
This is the coolest show for gear.
I really enjoy every episode.
I think they look a bit buzzed at the very end lol!!
Sounds like that replicator really lets your signal thru and interacts naturally, another great show guys
LOVED Dan's playing at 38.00 - 40.00. And Michael seems like such a nice fellow.
Cheers mate, Michael is the best!!
You are most welcome :)
Brings me back to the cassette tape 4 track recording days. Nothing sounds like real tape - great episode!
Hysterical! Educational! Musical! Full of both Vim AND Vigor
!
that Replicator Junior is pure magic. When I turn it on in my band (which is half the time) and you get a tape glitch I feel a rush of happiness going through me. ZZ Top came instantaneously to my head with the mudhoney! Nice!
Beautiful tele mick! Nice combination of pickups!!
+Juan Martin Reborati Yeah baby. Bit of Reverend Willy G. And David Grissom to be fair.... :0)
That Pedal Show I’ll check them out, definitely! Cheers!

Voltage must be exact
Current is a minimum, so exceeding the current is okay
Polarity must be correct
Isolation is important but there will be no damage if it’s not isolated - just noise
I’ll also add that you just need to make sure the barrel connector is the right size and shape. I can’t remember what the Replicator has - I think it’s standard, but some aren’t. Good luck!
As long your supply ticks all those boxes you’ll be fine :)
That Pedal Show thanks again fellas. It astounds me how many times you've responded to my comments and in such a timely fashion. Don't know how you do it but I'm sure glad you do!! Cheers,
Great to see and hear a Mudhoney - just about my all time favourite dirt pedal, and very underrated.
Some of your guys' best playing and best tones I've heard on this show! Amazing!!!
+John Marquez ah, cheers John. Dan here, Mick is especially on fire at the moment I think
Love T-Rex. I have two of their pedalboards and a power supply 👏

That Mudhoney oh man! It’s so versatile. That pedal is so USEABLE!
It's just a rat
Officially you guys have made Tape Delay the only delay I love. The sounds, the noise of scratchy tape being spun just as white noise in the background. The day I finally buy one my bank account will put some voodoo juju on you two, but my tone will be grateful. And yes T.Rex it would be this tape delay.
Just to say fantastic episode. That Mudhoney sounds amazing.
10:30 - never expect to hear an obscure mike oldfield track like that in a demo
Michael Pagaard is an awesome guy... what a character!
Great advice. Thanks I'll follow up.
it's wonderful to listen to your development as a player... keep it man .
Excellent show! Really enjoyed this one! That replicator sounds awesome... Watch out Timeline, you're on the sell list..... 😜
This video just made my day....those tones 😍😍😍
Which song is at 18:40min? Its very good vibes and tune.
I got chills...
Thank you!
+Everything Joseph to be fair, we're saving as well :)
i love that you guys don't call yourselves 'tone-lord' or 'tone-guru', or some other such tackiness; you just deliver. those sweet tones.
No offense to Dan and Michael, but Mick's playing was great today. Especially liked his bit during the Tremster segment - sweet.
That echo sounds glorious, and you are both really inspired playing it, apparently!
+Ben Lubin That’s what it’s all about. :0)
26:40 where have you been all my life? That reverb is breathtaking
+Yamazaki1923 Isn’t it just. :0)
42:14 Dan drinks; 43:22 Dan sees God, Elvis, and Jimi Hendrix. Priceless!
+David Woods We’re both lightweights these days. With Dan it’s fitness, with me just out of practise. :0)
T-Rex Alberta. Best overdrive ever? Love it!!
Really funny and plenty of incredible sounds as usual. Thank you guys!
WOW, was always keeping an eye on these guys but am totally impressed by everything. Massive sounds...
+Matt Flickinger Cheers Matt. Cool tones today huh!
That Mudhoney. I came twice, 17:48 and 18:31. I couldn't recover entirely of those godly tones so I just bought the first version second hand.
The first Danjam got me smiling all the way through.
+El Hijo De Perla ah, cheers mate
Just ordered a Replicator Jr. based off of this video! Thanks for the great review!
How does it sound? I want to pick one up in a few weeks.
@@metalloid3417 It sounds great!! Extremely warm repeats!! At full feedback and decay, you can still play over the oscillation! It's pretty cool! I posted a short little video on my channel!
@@justinbutler3465 Awesome! I'll have a look at that video you uploaded now.
@@metalloid3417 It was just with my cell phone microphone, but you can hear the quality of the repeats pretty good, though.
@@justinbutler3465 Just listened to it. Sounds pretty good man, guess you helped sell another one of these things haha. Well, at least you will have when I get the money in about 3 weeks.
