Stavros, Is there an official title for a person who has mastered a craft in your country? In the USA there is a specific path a person takes in a trade that includes school, time on the job, and a competency exam to become a Journeyman, and later a Master. We also have fields of interest where a person can become so excellent at what they do, others refer to them as a Master. You sir, are a Master in advanced wood working and hand plane making. Can you teach outside of UA-cam or your home? Are you a licensed Master in your country? By the way, where do you live?

I‘m deeply impressed! That plane turned out to be beautiful and it works like a charm. Making it with the tools that have been available hundreds of years ago let‘s me realized what our forefather could do with what they had. All it takes is the idea, the knowledge how to use the tools you got, time and the effort to precisely make another valuable tool that would be inherited to future generations of artisans. Thank you for this education!

I wonder how many audience members have a sense of complex the theory is to get a blade to make that cut. And you show both with and across the grain. I am completely mesmerized and inspired. I also love how this combines and continues some of your past projects and predecessors. Is there a story behind Holbrook Bristol or H.R. Burden? And their tool has a panel cut in it! This is now my favorite video to explain to fellow invention and geometry nerds why I am a fan of what you do. Wow.

    • @StavrosGakos

The clarity of detail and the clarity of PURPOSE of SHOWING the attention to detail of all the various stages is totally SUPERB. Oh and the GORGEOUS sound of the Beech being worked, wow that wood is beautiful. And then at 30:00 on wards with the GORGEOUS close ups and sounds again of the wood being worked and the incredible detailed workmanship. Words are hardly good enough but they are all I have, wow, yes like a comment below mentioning nirvana..... I am now thinking ecstacy of workmanship. Totally beautiful. INCREDIBLE. Please, MORE.

Buffing compound on wood is a great idea he's the only person on UA-cam I've seen do it, I've been doing it a few years, but I didn't think of putting compound on wood on the lathe like he did.

Just witnessed the building of what should be a $6,000.00 hand plane! Extraordinary effort often imitated...never duplicated.
