Lucky Crit This game is going to one of the most replayable Fire Emblem games in history, since we'll be getting like 3 or 4 Villager Forks. I'm going to have SO much fun with those Forks when I get my hands on them.
Yes indeed! I'm so excited. You can get one right now! Just be sure that you collect it with the right character (Celica / Alm) as it will be stuck with whoever you are playing until very late game!
Honestly, the game have been a wee bit more interesting if there were no "canon" classes for the villagers, and there were more class variety between genders. I understand this was a simpler time, but the Resistance the Clerics have would be useful on a more physical unit
@TheDealSealer It doesn't matter if she doesn't do it every map. If she does it once, she's bonkers. Faye(yelling to nowhere): ALM! DO YOU SEE ME! YOU BETTER BE LOOKING EAST RIGHT NOW! LOOK IN MY GENERAL DIRECTION DAMMIT! ALMMMMMM! AKDHJDFMAFKJAB Saber: Can we put her back where we found her, lass?
A few other people told me it was immersion breaking for her to keep talking about Alm in her battle victory quotes so I'm pretty sure it's still like that even on Celica's route!
OK this is a lot late but certain characters have different lines when around different characters. For example celica has quotes only for alm and only says those quotes around alm as it wouldn't make sense for her to say it if he's on the other side of the map or not deployed. The same would go for faye. You can see this on the Battle quotes section of this link fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/Celica/Echoes:_Shadows_of_Valentia_Quotes This game is amazing and you should play it again.
I feel like Faye was put in here just to get kicked left and right. I'm usually not of the pairing type, but man I wish she got with Tobin or Kliff because the whole married a random man didn't feel right.
@@Ardith50 sorry i can't see him with Faye. There are better single girls for him to ship with on feh. Don't ship him with clair or any married ones. Faye is married too
I think everyone at some point in their lives experiences unrequited love. It's one of the most gut wrenching and sobering things you can experience. Hard to get past it, too :|
*It didn't really flow with the video, but here are the unique dialogues for recruiting Kliff and Faye with Celica:* “Oh, Celica! You're back! Gosh, how long has it been? I've missed you so much! Alm left Ram. Did you know that? Just up and LEFT! I'm so desperately lonely... Anyway, I thought about going after him just to teach him a lesson, but I didn't. I'd probably get killed by some foul beast out there on my own, you know? Hey, wait... Are you on a journey or quest or whatever? Then maybe I could go with you!” *- Faye* “Celica? Celica, is that you? How long has it been?! I can't believe you came back to the village! Alm and the others are gone, I'm afraid. It's... a long story. Oh, and Sir Mycen vanished around the same time. * sigh * Ram Village was never all that exciting, but now it's unbearably dull. So where are you off to, mmm? Somewhere grand, no doubt. Say, why don't you let me come along? I bet we could both use the company.” *- Kliff*
+Gystes __ Yeah I don't think Faye is the type to ever say screw you Alm even behind his back unless Alm were to push her into mud or something, but we all know Alm isn't the type to do that either so I think Faye is legit sad that Alm left her. ; (
You know what? I'm pretty sure Alm's shield is the thot shield. Man had to hold back Faye and Clair the whole journey, but then when he's about to finish Duma, he realizes "Oh yeah, Bae is right here by my side, don't need this anymore" and drops it there.
Lucky Crit I made faye a cavalier unit had to grind a little. She was pretty useful in dungeons but the desert levels were a little tricky. Looking back I should have made her a cleric and I would have if I knew about the desert levels.
She might have been useful as a Peg Knight with Celica too because of those desert maps. But that would pretty much make Celica's army 1/3 Mercs, 1/3 Mages and 1/3 Peg Knights lol
Are you on your second playthrough because how can you have too many mages on Celica's path before you recruit Kliff on Alm's path? You wouldn't have played Celica yet and you can't go back to Ram Village after Chapter 3, can you? Oh and Faye is my Mage and Kliff is a much better Sniper than Python.
I could never leave Faye behind, or Kliff. I'm that type of person who is so into the storyline, where ever Alm goes, the Ram Village Squad is coming. I like Faye, I don't understand the hate people have for her, she's just in love, why do u hate someone for having a crush on someone? After Alm says they can't be together she totally understands but asks for permission to still like him despite her knowing they'll never be together, that's so heartbreaking and cute at the same time. I feel sorry for her.
Mathew Kerr But he's pretty unique. As much as I love Faye, (She's my waifu in Echoes, even if I can't marry her) she's far too bland and too much like other characters in Fire Emblem, but unlike the other characters, she has little to no story or character development. Also, she resembles tharja, which should have immediately made her a Waifu, but unlike tharja, she doesn't ave the supports like tharja. This game may have support conversations, but the supports in awakening made Tharja a MUCH more likable character and gave her a lot of character development. And like I said, I REALLY like Faye, but she is very, very bland.
I wish they gave Faye a different personality, give her Mae's personality; loyal, annoying to Alm, disagrees with Alm's actions, but would put herself infront of him in times of danger, basically Mae to Boey.. to make her and Mae different, take away Mae's hype-ness and replace it with Hana's determination and prowess, she would slay anyone for her friends and puts herself infront of everyone, and is extremely loyal to Alm like Hana is to Sakura. And there you have it, a villager who is brave inbattle, always arguing and annoying Alm but always has his back at the end of the day, extremely loyal to all her friends. For more uniqueness: first one to say a thing when a noble respected character like Fernand spits on them for being rabbles. Always having to be reminded about formality when speaking to higher-ups but not giving a damn about it, always arguing with the nobles and speaks to everyone the same no matter who you are, unless you're Mila lmao. That's my perfect idea of Faye's personality.
As far as it goes for me I don't like Faye because she is pretty much just a yandere troup, wich I wouldn't mind that much if it would have been in fates or awakening, since in those games the characters are pretty much truops, but in echoes where most of the characters aren't that bland, have character development, she really feels out of place to me,although she is still a better character then Peri to me as far as the yangire/yandere troup goes, since at least Faye has the excuse that the war breaks her mentally,so she clings to Alm,while Peri or even Camilla and Tharja were obsessive and mad just because why not?
venawartmander :3 I thought it was a double cheese burger...damn...the localisation of that game is just like in Awakening. Next you want to tell me, that they censor Tobin as soon as the sentence "Shut up, Tobin" drops...wait...don't tell me...I already know the answer
I would've liked to see their dialogue in this video. Also, what about all the other units Alm could choose to ignore? Could Silque, Clair, Forsyth or Python join?
Yep, sorry about that. Would have required me to clear out of a save file and play through chapter 1 and 2 again to film it (I don't think anyone else has footage of this on youtube yet). I don't believe it's possible with the other units. From what I've seen characters that you don't recruit don't stick around forever, and I think by the time Celica comes around they're gone. It makes more sense for Kliff and Faye because they actually live in Ram village so they'd still be hanging around.
Yeah, if you are going to bring anyone to end game from Alm's side, Mage!Cliff and Cleric!Faye/Silque (depending on what you want in an off cleric) seem to it.
Celica is Best waifu i would of felt heartbroken if she didn't have a obsession with alm i really wish they done better with faye or at least give her struggles or anything
oreki houtarou She kind of does. If you talk to her randomly she says she worries about her parents and grandma and that when she sends letters she has a hard time conveying her own thoughts to them.
I love Fire Emblem Echoes, this game is probably the best by far fire emblem game I played out of the whole series, Echoes is now my favorite story, gameplay, and has the best music out of all the music from the series, I personally rate Echoes a 10/10 because they kept all the features from Gaiden exactly like it was and making it fresh and new, for those of you who played Echoes but not Gaiden, play Gaiden and compare them to each other and see how well they're alike. Echoes is the best!!!!!!!!
I'm REALLY hoping this game knocks it out of the park in terms of sales. My biggest sore spot about it is no PVP, but it's Fire Emblem, so it didn't HAVE to have it. But they did it for Shadow Dragon so I'm surprised they didn't bother here. Regardless, I want even more Fire Emblem love (and the series deserves it) so hopefully it will be a success at least in the West.
When you said in the video on character classes that Atlus would be the only villager for Celica's route, unless you do an Easter egg, I knew that it would be my destiny to find it before your video came out. Unfortunately I recruited Faye and Kliff with Alm. There goes my destiny
It's not amazing in terms of what you get out of it, and Alm's route becomes much harder, but it's definitely interesting and might be a fun way to switch up further playthroughs!
Hm, thinking about this makes me wonder what other characters could've potentially been good choices to have been on the opposite team, or at least have the option to do so. One that comes to my mind is getting Jesse on Alm's route. Mercs are overrepresented in Celica's group, but underrepped in Alm's (i.e. if you don't promote a Villager into one you aren't getting any), so he would stand out more. Saber's a notable supporting character in Celica's route, and it'd be weird to split Kamui off from Leon and Valbar. Jesse also happens to have had a past encounter with Silque, so there's connections there. Of course, the big issue is that he is obtained at a place Alm's team can't get to, but hey, this is a hypothetical.
I love Echoes, I really do, but since my first playthrough was Hard/Classic and I unlocked all the supports, I honestly don't see any appeal in replaying :/ It's a darn shame after sinking 300+ hours EACH into Awakening and Fates. But if the gameplay can't get harder and I can't learn more about the characters... /shrug
MagicalH20 You could try mixing up the unit recruitments, and with the pitchforks later down the line. And the forging too. If you buy the cipher dlc which comes out on june 22 you get 4 extra characters, voiced and have there supports.
Shadow Striker I forged everything, so I don't see how I could change that. And I used all the units up until the final dungeon. I could limit unit recruitment I guess, but that doesn't sound exciting to me personally. Maybe the Cipher characters will be a good enough reason.
See I've enjoyed this game quite a bit (along with Fates and Awakening, all for different reasons) But this is where I feel the game did itself a disservice by trying to emulate the older games. The limited range of supports. Now, it didn't need to add S rank/marriage/ child units, but having the characters actually be able interact with more than just a select one or two would have fleshed them out a great deal and added a lot to the replay-ability. There's also the flawed logic in these characters have conversations in the middle of battle when you have plenty of downtime in between, but that's neither here nor there. A support between Faye and Celica could have lent itself to some great character development for both. But the fact she and Kliff are just space fillers in her route feels like a wasted opportunity.
Everything is valid in this video, but speaking as a long time Fire Emblem player I -highly- recommended that you DON'T get Kliff or Faye in Celica's route. Both Faye and Kliff need some form of investment, more than Tobin and Gray need. You'll be setting back the pace of your playthrough by having both Kliff and Faye catch up and getting them early in chapter 1 to round out Alms team is going to be incredibly helpful to both Faye and Kliff experience wise. The only reason why you want these two in Celica's route is like Lucky Crit said, "if you need a cavalier unit on Celica's route." OR you just really don't like Faye the Bae and you want to recruit her into Celica's team so she suffers even further. Either way very neat Easter Egg. I saw the post on Reddit, but seeing it presented in video format is always nice, especially with editing as nice as yours.
I missed Faye and Kliff when starting out with Alm. I knew I should have gotten them near the beginning when I started playing, but I was excited to get started and I forgot go back to the village gates to recruit them. It wasn't until I was already playing Celica's first act and a friend mentioned something to me that I realized I had missed them. I picked them up with Celica, but Alm's route is noticeably more challenging now! :)
I'm a fan that was going to get echoes anyway but after watching (almost) all of your videos it got me pretty hyped for the game and made me get the special edition because you made it super interesting (and it is!). Anyway I'm always super excited to watch your videos and watching them always is a great time. Thanks for getting me hype for this game and for also making enjoyable videos to watch.
I was one of those that decided on get the game based on your vids, and man its great, its fun, great strategy game and looks awesome. only bad part is the overpriced dlc, which i hope can be bought at a discount. #Echoes rules
As someone who always uses kliff as a cavalier and faye as a pegasus knight: I think they should be on alm's path(act 3 and 4 are mostly swamp and desert maps and Celica's path already has 3 fliers.)
I feel bad for Faye and Kliff as characters, since they’re optional units their supports are extremely limited when all of the Alm squad should have supports with each other and these two especially should have them. Also, since Faye’s a pretty one-note character, more supports (with Lukas or the other male villagers) would really help her out. Although, I do think that supports with Kliff, Tobin and Lukas would be the best.
I have Faye as Pegasus knight in my first playthrough and her attack dwarfs that of the sisters on Celica's team (they hardly do any damage and seem to die easily), so this might actually an option. On the other hand, she also turned out much better than Clair for me and I buffed her attack so much Alm is the only one outperforming her in the damage departmen x)
Faye would be a much more interesting character if she could have supports with Celica and/or the rest of her army. Instead of just being that standard character-who's-head-over-heels-for-the-army-commander.
Hey Lucky Crit, I've actually watched basically all your videos on FE Echoes and I can say with certainty that no one else makes videos on this game with as much quality as you do. I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate them a lot. Initially I did not really have high hopes for this game, especially with how it seemed to be adding features like voice acting or dungeon exploration which I thought will probably take away from more important elements like the gameplay or story, something that I believe has been declining for the FE series recently (I'm looking at you Fates!). But you got me excited for the game again, an excitement I hadn't felt since the dual system in Awakening was announced, and for that, you have all my thanks. Also, I think it would cool if you made a video on the weapon upgrades and like what weapons you think is best for which character. Or maybe on the choice of Blessed shield or Silver shield. Otherwise, anything will be cool, I'll still be watching you videos. And before I end all my rambling, fun fact, I got hooked onto fire emblem after seeing Joshua land a critical hit in FE8. Funny that a UA-cam Channel called Lucky Crit gets me excited about the series again.
On my first play through, I just completely ignored Faye and Kliff because I didn’t know you could recruit them. Didn’t even bother talking to them. The funny thing is that I was wondering when I could have them on my team like Grey and Tobin. So when I was playing as Celica, I went back to Ram village to see if I could talk to anyone (forgot about Faye and Kliff at this point) and there was Faye and Kliff still standing there. They were the weakest on my team since I recruited them extra late. (I also didn’t realize I could recruit Python until mid game when I went back the the hideout for the Mila Temple. lol I’m dumb)
The creators said that Faye was supposed to add an "interesting subplot" to the game. I knew it couldn't be anything more than "making an actual character out of Severa's opinion of her mother" the moment I learned that she was an optional party member. This is so face-palm worthy...
The creators stated that Faye was there for two reasons : 1. To give Alm a Female Unit early. 2. Add a potentially interesting subplot to the the game. It's on top of this page : tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/FireEmblemGaiden While she does fulfill the first reason, the mere fact that she's an Optional Unit leads to her failing to fulfill the second one. Unless said subplot truly is to be the embodiment of everything Severa believed her mother to be : A walking broken heart who never moved on from the fact that she never got the boy she liked. And if you ask me, that NOT an interesting subplot, it's just another way to add ANOTHER annoying shipping war. As if what happened with Cordelia's lack of supports and Sumia's pies wasn't enough...
You know I was gonna leave ram on my first play through but I wondered why kliff and faye didn't join along with Tobin and gray good thing I talked to them am and recruited them and thx to you lucky crit I now know why they didn't join right off the bat cause it was like an Easter egg.
I do wish she and Kliff talked more. Having Gray and Tobin always talk is cool and all but Kliff is much too silent. It feels like I've got two villagers instead of four :(
Lucky Crit Yeah, I was really confused to see him thrown to the side like that, especially when Gray and Tobin chime in throughout the entire game. But man, at least you get to learn a few things about Kliff and his personality in a few early bits of the game. Faye's entire character is literally just crushing on Alm. It's a little disappointing considering she's a new character, and most of the other new characters pretty much steal the show.
This I'm not sure about, she might have disappeared by the time that Alm can make it there. The characters you don't recruit don't just stick around forever.
Alm never has access to the Priory until postgame, where the army's merge. Celia's Chapter 2 splits Alm and Celica off from each other. You have a small window to get Faye and Kliff with Celica, in fact.
*"The characters you don't recruit don't just stick around forever."* WHAT!?! They don't stay in place waiting day and night, rain or shine for me? They don't revolve their schedules around the possibility of ME, the player coming back to their little village for even the briefest moment? WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?
Yeah, also, congrats on 10k subs! Your sub count is growing really fast, glad to see the effort that you're putting in paying off, and best of luck to the future of your channel!
Hey LuckyCrit thanks for making this video! I will definitely check this out on my next play through. I just finished FE Echoes SoV and I have to say this is my favorite Fire Emblem ever and now one of my favorite remakes of all time. Thank you!
Awesome to hear! We're really glad you like it. It's definitely worth another playthrough. I'd recommend choosing some different classes for the villagers this time, pick Sonya or Deen (the one you didn't pick the first time) and maybe even try out the villager's pitchforks as well for some fun class swapping!
Well both teams can have a unit with that OP Dread Knight->Villager loop. Other than that one OP unit and your main character(s), you don't need anyone else (except maybe one healer for each team). My Dread Knight Gray already has capped out his hp, attack, skill, and speed. While his defense and luck are getting there. His resistance is a lost cause though, with that base 0% growth.
Echoes is perhaps the most story driven ce to date, save fore FE 4 and 9. I knew I'd love this game. But how much I ended up loving it is an engierly different story. Thanks, lucky crit. You gave me some nice entertainemnt until this game's release, and gave me some clutch RNG too. (Get it? Because.. the channel name... I'll stop)All in all after beating the game and trying to complete Hard mode in less than a week, its going to be interesting. Love the gameplay and the characters. Hope to see more of your content in the future. Fire Emblem or otherwise! Take care
Also, I already got Faye on celica's side. She is bad as a cavalier, but it is funny to have her talk about alm when he's nowhere near her line of sight.
I actually discovered that Tobin can also get Physic as a Sage, but it comes way late. However, Tobin does get Excalibur early to balance things out. That's a useful way to justify Faye in another class. However, the only real use for Cliff and Faye on Celica's path is as Cavaliers, given you have none at the start and only have one Paladin on Celica's path by the end. With three Pegasus Knights, potentially four Mages, and potentially four Dread Fighters, they do have limited options and uses. I'll definitely try it one time, but probably only recruiting one of the two and not both. Having a second Knight on Celica's path may seem like a good option given you've only got one, but with the prevalence of mages all throughout her path, that's really a pretty bad option overall. One other potential option is having Faye as a Cleric not for Physic, but for Rescue, as Celica doesn't get Rescue or Warp.
Kliff is the only childhood friend of Alm that I actually like. Just my opinion. I don’t like Tobin or Gray to be honest. (just by their personalities and characters) Don’t know why.
This is a good pick if you get them back up in level. Btw what are your thoughts on the postgame of Echoes? As far as I heard and experienced it's kinda lackluster. Since I played on hard classic it doesn't feel right to play again aside from trying other stuff.
I’ll be honest, if someone like Faye were to be obsessed with me like that I wouldn’t like them back. (just not my type of people) I actually wanted to try not recruit her and just leave her in the village. Sounds harsh but I didn’t like Faye much anyway.
I just finish the game, I m in love whit it , I dont know how are people saying this game is bad. (rip nomah in my save, he died in the final dungeon and I couldn't revive him after that :C)
Faye as a cavalier is probably my favorite way to use her. The only downside is that Tatiana is alm’s only physic user if you make her a cavalier. (Also Tatiana is the worst cleric unit IMO.) cavalier Faye is always stronger than Clive and usually stronger than mathilda.
After all of the work you put it, I'm going to slash that subscribe button and I'm a character who if he gets a critical hit, it will to times 10,000 damage. So if you gain 10,000 subs, know it was me.
I did this not knowing there was any other way.. my alms side has been pretty challenging. Ecpecially when I missed python for a decent amount of time until i started to struggle and went back to all locations to see if i can get more people.. turns out there was 3 i missed... and 2 i cant make up funiily i also missed Genny (ginny?) on Celica's side and it never affected me at all.
Hey Stevie, will you talk about that famitsu info of fire emblem warriors. How cool would it be if you got to join GameXplain? Try hitting them up on twitter and try to get the discussion happen for sure.
they should make dlc classes specifically for Faye and atlas, make faye a hunter like in shadow dragon, but without the horse promotion, and make atlas an axe user, also they need to put in some usable axes in the game, I know they wanted to be faithful to the original game, but that's no excuse for missed opportunities
well. tho its grinding related to, but I actually use Jesse as an Archer in Celicas army ^^ so I dont think this feature will be useful for me in different playthroughs either but its funny to know this works
Hoo. I don't know how I would ever get along in Alm's path without Faye's Physic in the later acts. I don't think I would have it in me to leave her behind because of that.
I felt that Faye and Kliff could have ended up together. At least they might have a stable marriage as Kliff is trying to help Faye to move past her unhealthy obsession with Alm.
i actually felt it lacks in replay ability up to atleast dean parts. kliff better off in alm route his stronger mage there . while faye always puts slique to shame with her heals and recuse
Can you still do the trick where you let a unit die on one character's route so you can revive them on the other or did they change that? Also, shouldn't you be able to use this on Python as well?
So I only just got Echoes yesterday. Haven't touched it yet cause there was enough things different about it from previous DS/GB releases that I figured a little preparation wouldn't hurt (also the DLC situation was kinda bugging me, thanks for that breakdown video btw) and thus far I'm greatly impressed by the changes that your videos have highlighted. Your explanations are top notch, with enough detail to get the info across while still being simple enough for people (like me) who don't usually delve into the numbers and minute details. Also, gotta respect the old school/new school comparisons you've done throughout these videos, the earliest I played was FE...6 I think it was? The one with Roy, had to get a fan translation mod (since I'm to lazy to learn a new language) to actually know what was going on. So it's cool to see breakdowns of past features and how they influenced the ones I've played. Well that's enough binge watching I suppose, time to actually get the show started, thanks again for all of this!
When I'm on like beginning chapter 4/5 of Echoes- Also it's kind of sad that they don't level up because I left Faye since I didn't think I would need her, then I watched your video on best units for them and realized "ALM NEEDS CLERICS OH LORD-"
I find Kliff works best for me as a soldier tree unit on Alm's route. You get a Ridersbane in time and a large portion of Alm's route afterwards is horses. If you REALLY want another archer in Celica's route, then Pitchfork Conrad for it. The man's skill growth is absolutely insane. Once I got him a Killer Bow (which wasn't hard, Lost Treescape hands you a silver to grind him back up to speed with), he was regularly tossing out hits with high 40s to over 50% crit rate, and Hunter's Volley only helps on that. For the final fight against Duma, Killer Bow Knight Conrad was my premier Mogall and Witch exterminator. "Scatter before me!" indeed.
Amendment about Kliff: Whst sets him apart from the other Soldier tree units you get normally is that on top of expressing great soldier tree growths (You ever hear of an armor doubling Berkut on the first encounter?), his base 8 Res can be bolstered by the free DLC Talisman item to 11-probably one of the highest Res stats you'll see in the game, making him the most impervious to magic out of everyone as well as shrugging off most physical attacks that aren't coming from bosses.
For me personally, Faye has to not only join Alm and become a Cleric but also have Rescue by the end of Alm's path in Chapter 3 since her Rescue usage in tandem with Silque's Warp usage is my primary strategy to get either Python or Tobin(both BK) into kill range of Tatarrah so that Delthea is rescued as soon as possible! With a lot of luck(and a maxed out Killer Bow equipped), she probably won't even have time to teleport ANYWHERE before Tatarrah dies!!!
Not recruiting Faye is one of the worst mistakes you can do. Saint!Faye learns Anew at Lv. 14, which turns her into a Dancer! And Silque|Warp/Faye|Anew is sometimes even more useful than Silque|Warp/Faye|Rescue. Oh, and did I mention that Anew is exclusive to Faye?
Thank you immensely. If you like Advance Wars or any other oldschool GBA games, stay tuned. More "What happened to's" coming soon and future retrospective on some of those old gems alongside the FE stuff.
You know what job i hate in this game is "Pegasus Knight & Falcon Knigh" they're weak in defense and low in dmg they can't even make a follow-up atk because many jobs out speed them but i like the girls though they're waifu materials. The job i really love in this game is the Dread Fighter (high crit chance) med def and very high spd and res + 1/2 dmg recieve from magic atks + 7 mov. The honest part of the game is 2 gold knights r useful Conrad and Mathilda the other r junk seriously. The best mage is Delthea and can really out shine other mages as long as she has the mage ring (all of her spells r low range). Sages r effin weak they can only make enemy's soft then the others will land the final blow. Saints r the best "make Faye a Cleric trust me she will be a powerful one shoter of terrors + psychic can heal alm from the distance.
That's pretty awesome! I'm still taking my time through Echoes. Still on Act 3. I didn't realise the whole Sonya/Deen thing and took out Deen, so got another Mage in Sonya, probably not a bad decision, right? But still getting use to the whole '2 Units' thing, guess I'm so use to the single units from Awakening and Fates.
I'm actually in the middle of a run where I ditched Faye with Alm and recruited her with Celica and made her a Cav. Not Kliff though. He's cool he can stay.
I admit, your content has been very helpful, and not to mention you have reached out and commentated on a few of my comments, which I have never really seen any youtubers do, especially with well edited and quality content, my only thing I say though aside this, is how you have been put in a position to progress through the game at a rather slow pace- which is understandable, yet unfortunate from how much I see you enjoy from not only writing about its content, but presumably playing the game. I'll definitely be here to watch and give my own two cents on the future content you hold.
I feel as if having either of them with Celica isn't the best idea as I think they hinder Alm more than they help Celica. The only other healer Alm has early game being Silque who I found as I was playing wasn't very good and the only thing really useful about her was warp. Thinking about it having Silque with Celica would have been much more useful with the terrain. Alas 'tis not to be.
It would be kind of tempting to do this & also give Celica all the Cipher characters, just for the fucking "Cantor, 200 squares away, usually in a desert or swamp" maps.

Lucky Crit Honestly I couldn't leave my boy kliff he had to join me on Alm's adventure, also faye would be nice to have on the battle field
***** MERCENARY PYTHON, HERE I COME.
Honestly, the game have been a wee bit more interesting if there were no "canon" classes for the villagers, and there were more class variety between genders. I understand this was a simpler time, but the Resistance the Clerics have would be useful on a more physical unit
"Then I guess I'll stay here and just be... sad... forever..."
:(
It's so weird to see Kliff and Faye on Celica's team...
Yes it is lol! Kinda interesting, though!
As annoying as she can be, that made me legit sad
Meanwhile if Faye on Alm's team
Silque : Hey Faye I..............
Faye : Fuck you you not Alm get the fuck outta my sights
I just realized. Does Faye still ask if Alm is watching her while in Celica's party. Geez. That girl is seriously in denial.
That's a good question, yeah I'd imagine all her voiced lines are the same. :O
ALMMMMMM! AKDHJDFMAFKJAB
Saber: Can we put her back where we found her, lass?
A few other people told me it was immersion breaking for her to keep talking about Alm in her battle victory quotes so I'm pretty sure it's still like that even on Celica's route!
OK this is a lot late but certain characters have different lines when around different characters. For example celica has quotes only for alm and only says those quotes around alm as it wouldn't make sense for her to say it if he's on the other side of the map or not deployed. The same would go for faye.
You can see this on the Battle quotes section of this link
fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/Celica/Echoes:_Shadows_of_Valentia_Quotes
This game is amazing and you should play it again.
I feel like Faye was put in here just to get kicked left and right. I'm usually not of the pairing type, but man I wish she got with Tobin or Kliff because the whole married a random man didn't feel right.
Tobin DOES seem to have an obsession with being better than Alm..
.....Almbin. Tobalm. He starts dying his hair and telling people he leads the Deliverance.
I wish Tobin and Faye got together after accepting that the ones they liked loves another.
Ardith That....sounds sad.
@@Ardith50 sorry i can't see him with Faye. There are better single girls for him to ship with on feh. Don't ship him with clair or any married ones. Faye is married too
Does faye still say "did you see that Alm?" when she kills someone on celica route. That would be hilarious
Pretty sure there aren't any voice dialogue changes for battle, so yep. lol
Lucky Crit schizophrenia? It could be way more depressing, with her hallucinating that alm is watching.
She's clearly gone mad, knowing her true love has abandoned her.
Celica addresses Alm in her death quote too.
Sean Wheeler the ladies are all crazy for Alm
Faye please you're sorta touching my heart.
I definitely feel for her. :|
Ohh Faye
Inigo
Is it because you can relate to her, as a hopeless lover?
I think everyone at some point in their lives experiences unrequited love. It's one of the most gut wrenching and sobering things you can experience. Hard to get past it, too :|
leon handles it pretty well
*It didn't really flow with the video, but here are the unique dialogues for recruiting Kliff and Faye with Celica:*
“Oh, Celica! Then maybe I could go with you!” *- Faye*
“Celica? Celica, is that you? How long has it been?! I can't believe you came back to the village! Alm and the others are gone, I'm afraid. It's... a long story. Oh, and Sir Mycen vanished around the same time. * sigh * Ram Village was never all that exciting, but now it's unbearably dull. So where are you off to, mmm? Somewhere grand, no doubt. Say, why don't you let me come along? I bet we could both use the company.” *- Kliff*
Aww, poor Faye. I don't think I could bear to leave her like that, even for the funny bonus event
Lucky Crit I now ship Kliff and Celica. dammit
Lucky Crit So am I the only one who reads Faye's as, "Screw you Alm! I'll go on an adventure without you!! Who needs a man anyway!!"
+Gystes __ Yeah I don't think Faye is the type to ever say screw you Alm even behind his back unless Alm were to push her into mud or something, but we all know Alm isn't the type to do that either so I think Faye is legit sad that Alm left her. ; (
+Anarch Ao You ship them now just because of a single one-sided line? That's.....really interesting.
Why would I ever do this? That rejection broke my heart! Also, Silque Warp/Faye Rescue shenanigans
Theitsybitsyspider I used that to get draco shield from Daddy Desaix lol
Yeah, it's hard to watch lol. I guess you could just not talk to her as Alm. That's easier.
You know what? I'm pretty sure Alm's shield is the thot shield. Man had to hold back Faye and Clair the whole journey, but then when he's about to finish Duma, he realizes "Oh yeah, Bae is right here by my side, don't need this anymore" and drops it there.
LOL THIS IS TOO ACCURATE
I got faye on Celica's path. Kliff went with Alm's path because i had to many mages on Celica's path.
How did it work out for you?
@@SeanWheeler100 He might have played Gaiden.
Zuraaa but she wasn't in gaidennnnnn
It's Ya Boi But those people don't hate Conrad tho.
One of the huge improvements in the game is full voice acting and I love it.
Yeah it's REALLY good. I can barely make myself skip it even once I've read the whole line. I want to hear the gorgeous VO.
SPOILERS! Celica joins forces with damn Daniel to destroy the all mighty god Shrek.
DUDE! I didn't get to Chapter 4 yet!!!! HOW COULD YOU!?
Lucky Crit IT'S TIME TO STOP!
-It's-Time-To-Stop-Guy
***** crap man I'm sorry ;^;
Celica dies by the hands of a subway foot long.
venawartmander :3 I thought it was a double cheese burger...damn...the localisation of that game is just like in Awakening. Next you want to tell me, that they censor Tobin as soon as the sentence "Shut up, Tobin" drops...wait...don't tell me...I already know the answer
MvdKipz
The double cheese burger goes for Alm.
I wouldn't mind having Kliff on Celica's team since he's hot AF. I also love his witty attitude.
Full marks.
facts
Having a play through with a silent Faye doesn't sound that bad.
Hah!
My heart broke at "I'll be here sad forever"
Yeah :|
Faye would probably kill Celica if she were to join her party.
"Only *I* can have Arumu-kun!"
Yeah, I can definitely see this happening. Stabbed in the back.
*Arumu-senpai
Crappy DragonKin Marth Faya chooses to become a Mage, so she'll become a Priestess, gain a sword, and thus stab Celica with it.
Swedish X But she has swords as a villager.
TheAmphabulousGamer Seems I had forgotten, considering the villagers never stay in that class for long.
I'd always bring kliff cause 60% speed growth is fun
Kliff is pretty much my best unit on Alm's route!
Lucky Crit mine is Faye as a Mage. Maybe cause I used most fountains on her and got lucky with skill growths
Yeah, if you are going to bring anyone to end game from Alm's side, Mage!Cliff and Cleric!Faye/Silque (depending on what you want in an off cleric) seem to it.
Kliff is the best baron in the game because of that speed growth (also that base luck help a lot) and yes he double very often as baron.
Damn, i feel bad for Faye if you don't recruit her on Alm's route especially since she is one of my favorite characters.
She's definitely a controversial character, but that rejection line is heartbreaking all the same..
***** Yeah i agree. She is a character you're either going to really love or really hate. And yeah that line though....
Celica is Best waifu so she kinda does have a character and not a fully wasted troup character
i dont think faye is a great character but kliff is amazing so...leave faye keep kliff in my opinion
You a d I think so alike its not even funny. Well, exccept favorites. Cant give up on shadow dragon, the loser I am
I guess for Echoes they wanted to keep it as close to Gaiden as possible so I think that's why there is no PVP
Who needs another archer if you have best boi!
Niles, your "kind" of Archers isn't welcome in Valentia. LONG RANGERS ONLY BABY
When you said in the video on character classes that Atlus would be the only villager for Celica's route, unless you do an Easter egg, I knew that it would be my destiny to find it before your video came out. Unfortunately I recruited Faye and Kliff with Alm. There goes my destiny
Hahahaha that's awesome. Totally cool though, you can try this next playthrough ;)
Yeah, although I might do that low recruitment run, that sounds fun, and challenging
You can turn dreadfighters back to villagers and reclass them and Celica has a lot of those
NOTIFICATION SQUAD WE SUMMON YOU!
YOU GUYS ARE 5 STAR UNITS!
This is neat but it kinda just seems like a bad idea to do this all around.
It's not amazing in terms of what you get out of it, and Alm's route becomes much harder, but it's definitely interesting and might be a fun way to switch up further playthroughs!
That's true. I'm so used to having physic from Faye that I bet it'd be way more challenging to go without it.
Maybe since there's no Lunatic mode unlockable, players can do something like this to make Alm's playthrough even more challenging >:)
twittburning on my first play through I made Faye a Pegasus knight which made Alm's route really hard late game
Really cool! Definitely gonna try letting celica take them on my next playthrough! Very informative and awesome video!
Thanks for tuning in! Have fun!
Omg i'm not a die hard Faye fan or anything but hearing what she said if you don't recruit her actually broke my heart aaaw lol I can't do IT!
MagicalH20 Ayyyyyyyy
Go for the medals? LTC'ing for Lightning War is on my to do list for this game ha.
A Name You Shall Not Know :o I forgot about Lightning War! Thank you for at least a 2nd playthrough, nameless stranger
See I've enjoyed this game quite a bit (along with Fates and Awakening, all for different reasons)
But this is where I feel the game did itself a disservice by trying to emulate the older games.
Unpopular opinion; I like Faye a lot.
And that guilt Trippy dialog broke my little
Heart.
We're really glad you like the videos and ended up getting and enjoying the game! Thank you so much for watching!
I would have to disagree with kliff being best used as a mage. I found him far more useful to me as a archer and faye most useful as a mage.
I have Faye as Pegasus knight in my first playthrough and her attack dwarfs that of the sisters on Celica's team (they hardly do any damage and seem to die easily), so this might actually an option.
On the other hand, she also turned out much better than Clair for me and I buffed her attack so much Alm is the only one outperforming her in the damage departmen x)
just a reminder:
Faye never existed in the original gaiden game. Like Berkut shes a brand new character exclusive to the remake
Faye would be a much more interesting character if she could have supports with Celica and/or the rest of her army. Instead of just being that standard character-who's-head-over-heels-for-the-army-commander.
I agree
Did they actually state that? Was it in an interview? Interesting.
The creators stated that Faye was there for two reasons :
1. To give Alm a Female Unit early.
2. Add a potentially interesting subplot to the the game.
It's on top of this page : tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Trivia/FireEmblemGaiden
While she does fulfill the first reason, the mere fact that she's an Optional Unit leads to her failing to fulfill the second one.
Even bigger Easter egg: If you leave silque in the thieves' shrine, celica can go there and recognizes her. They talk but celica can't recruit silque.
Not like Faye provides much to the story anyways. Just this game's entirely one note character.
Wait does this mean that Alm can recruit Genny, too? Because Genny also has to be talked to in order to recruit.
*"The characters you don't recruit don't just stick around forever."*
WHAT!?! They don't stay in place waiting day and night, rain or shine for me? They don't revolve their schedules around the possibility of ME, the player coming back to their little village for even the briefest moment? WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?
No matter what party you are, choose Pegasus knight and Mage for Faye's and Kliff's class
Unpopular opinion: I like Faye as a character
Talking about Sonya... was kinda forced to get her due to witches continuously killing Leon.... even with turnwheeling..
Thanks for another great video Stevie! Really Glad I turned on notifications for this channel!
Of course! Thanks a million for joining the notification squad :)
Yeah, also, congrats on 10k subs! Your sub count is growing really fast, glad to see the effort that you're putting in paying off, and best of luck to the future of your channel!
Thank you immensely. Here's to many more :)
It would be a bad decision cause the Faye and Kilff reclass best in to classes Celica has more of and needed more in Alm
Rokkas Gaming Mycen died in the final battle for me.
I was able to revive him in the post-game, but deep down in my heart, I know he's dead
I'm not good at fire emblem but I'm not terrible!
But I just CAN'T BEAT THE FINAL (DAMN YOU JEDAH!!!!!!)
I did this not knowing there was any other way.. my alms side has been pretty challenging. Ecpecially when I missed python for a decent amount of time until i started to struggle and went back to all locations to see if i can get more people.. turns out there was 3 i missed... and 2 i cant make up
funiily i also missed Genny (ginny?) on Celica's side and it never affected me at all.
Hey Stevie, will you talk about that famitsu info of fire emblem warriors. How cool would it be if you got to join GameXplain? Try hitting them up on twitter and try to get the discussion happen for sure.
You should just dump her in both routes.
Only if she dies as a lonely virgin in Ram Village, then you can say you got the true ending.
Der Slendy In all honesty though, since she didn't exist in gaiden so that's as close as you can get
they should make dlc classes specifically for Faye and atlas, make faye a hunter like in shadow dragon, but without the horse promotion, and make atlas an axe user, also they need to put in some usable axes in the game, I know they wanted to be faithful to the original game, but that's no excuse for missed opportunities
well. tho its grinding related to, but I actually use Jesse as an Archer in Celicas army ^^ so I dont think this feature will be useful for me in different playthroughs either but its funny to know this works
Faye is so freaking obsessed with Alm it's scary. If Alm told her to murder an entire village with no reason I think she would.
With the abundance of mages on Celica's path there was clearly only one way to play, mage emblem with Kliff and Faye going with Celica to be mages too
Or just leave Faye where she is...
Harsh!
so celica how many dread fighters can celica have? 3 pitchforks 2 possible normal villagers and 4 possible natural onea
9? then celica in for dungeons
Yep, looks like you're right. DREAD SQUAD, ASSEMBLE
Definitely doing this on my next playthrough lol. Maybe some time in Celica's party will make Faye less of a simp
i actually felt it lacks in replay ability up to atleast dean parts. kliff better off in alm route his stronger mage there . while faye always puts slique to shame with her heals and recuse
I plan on doing a boys only/girls only run for alm and celica, so celica and faye will have to get along because they're gonna be traveling together.
I recruit Kliff with Alm and the Ciphers characters on Alm's route. Faye can keep her ass in Ram.
I FORGOT to recruit them on Alm's route
When I'm on like beginning chapter 4/5 of Echoes-
Also it's kind of sad that they don't level up because I left Faye since I didn't think I would need her, then I watched your video on best units for them and realized "ALM NEEDS CLERICS OH LORD-"
yeah fuck that I'm never leaving Faye behind. She fucking deserves to be with Alm.
I always just let Delthea wear herself out on Silque and then have someone sit on the supplies so she couldn't heal back up.
-But having something akin to the Again staff doesn't make you a Dancer.-
#echoes
I came for golden sun but I stayed for fire emblem
Keep making great content!
Thank you immensely. If you like Advance Wars or any other oldschool GBA games, stay tuned. More "What happened to's" coming soon and future retrospective on some of those old gems alongside the FE stuff.
Christian Montes-Moctezuma nice Joshua pic the world ends with you is one of my favorite games
Just an unpopular opinion, I like this art style of Fire Emblem better than Three Houses.
I actually don't think the replayability in this game is as good as a lot of other Fire Emblems.
Gerald Bantolino Saint Genny > Saint Faye tho.
I made Faye a mage and she is fucking powerful even though she is a priestess and she is max out on her level and she still kick ass
I'm actually in the middle of a run where I ditched Faye with Alm and recruited her with Celica and made her a Cav. Not Kliff though. He's cool he can stay.
How's she working out for you?
Well enough but she struggles a bit with the terrain
To those of you in Rigel with Alm at the crossroad between Jerome and Nuibaba, DO NUIBABA. It's incredibly difficult, but very worth it.
That would have been cool, huh? Yeah and the double healers for Alm does wonders. It's weird, but it's just a cool gimmick I guess.
It would be kind of tempting to do this & also give Celica all the Cipher characters, just for the fucking "Cantor, 200 squares away, usually in a desert or swamp" maps.
Yeah that's understandable lol
Great video. I honestly never knew about this little feature.
