    No mention of the Suzuki 800DE which has a better suspension, better fuel delivery, and better electronics than the Talp. Seems like the whole ADV market is buzzing about the MT/Ibex 450, but you don't think that is an adventure motorcycle to look out for in 2024? I would agree with the 1300GS and the Kove800x. And what are we watching out for with the T7? It's an old and tired platform that's getting run over by the competition. I guess we need to look out for their sales crash, one of my local dealers can't sell them and they have been sitting on the floor for over a year.

      The Ibex 450 looks great for sure, unfortunately it was only announced announced about a week after filming this video. Took us longer than expected to publish this one.

      @davidcharlton3710 3 місяці тому +1

      I personally like the simplicity of the T7 even though it's"tired" by comparison.

      800 DE dont sell in my country, somehow suzuki only sell 150cc here :(((

      @jonwoodworker 3 місяці тому

      @davidcharlton3710 I was a little harsh with using "tired," it's still a great motorcycle. It's just not "something to look out for in 2024."

    Eric, good information as always. I just saw CF Moto 450 MT. Nice looking bike. Currently I ride an Africa Twin for long distance and KTM 390 adventure for off road. My nearest dirt road is 40 miles away. So I need freeway worthy light weight bike.

    • @RIDEAdventures

      That 450MT would have been mentioned for sure, but they announced it like a week after we filmed this list! Thanks for watching.

    Wow! That Kove 800 definitely has my eye. Looks like a shredder.
    One thing to say about The Transalp....IT'S ABOUT TIME! Western CBX fans have been asking for this bike forever.
    Is that new T7 price for the T7(2.0)? Yamaha made a fair amount of changes to the bike. Maybe that is just the "World..?....something"? No need to replace my T7, so I have not paid that much attention.

    • @RIDEAdventures
      @RIDEAdventures  3 місяці тому +1

      Tough to keep track of MSRP’s as they change around the world, but enjoy that T7 and yea, something lighter and maybe more race-ready awaits you in that Kove 800. Hope it’s a good bike.

    You asked for opinions.
    The Suzuki 800DE?? Great price with an excellent engine with more usable torque than the Transalp, (at least as torquey as my Africa Twin, and beats my AT 6th gear acceleration on the highway) quality completely adjustable suspension front and rear, more travel, more ground clearance, better range, better electronics, better fueling, better traction control comparable to KTM's TC, does not feel like a 500 lb bike... just a more premium bike than the Transalp.
    Transalp? Pogo stick rear suspension with nothing adjustable except preload (get out the spanner wrench🙄) with less travel front and rear, engine parts hanging down low for the rocks, low ground clearance, lousy traction control nobody seems to like in the dirt, and, absolutely ridiculous air filter access alone is enough to kill the deal.
    Endorsing China now? Soon enough, folks who don't understand the threat of China, will.

    Kove 800x is competition to 790r and Tuareg - performance oriented segment, not T7.
    T7 and AT for people with highest priority is reliability.
    Similar on paper, completely different mfg philosophy.
    In other words, most people who choose T7 earlier won't change it for Kove.

    • @defylifeadventure
      @defylifeadventure 3 місяці тому

      The T7 is competition of the Tuareg and 790, 890 etc.. anyway. People looking for a middleweight adventure bike will initially be likely to have all of them on the list, then whittle them down depending on their needs, price, features etc.. they are all the same class. Few people will switch between bikes of the same class (though it does happen. T7 to KTM, KTM to Tuareg or Desertx), but for people looking to replace an older machine or coming from a different class, they all in competition IMO.

    Great roundup thanks. I think the 2024 KTM 790 adventure needs mention. China manufactured, inexpensive and you get that mid ktm design and all the options like cruise control… well if you have to pay extra but they are there.

    China taking the market by storm and look to be putting out bikes that have been asked for by many. The big question will be dealer support. Kove has huge potential. KTM cutting the 490 adventure I think was a mistake on their part.

    Also very strange decision to mention rally version of Kove 800x.
    First of all, for now they are shipping only version PRO for whole world.
    They arriving in May in most countries.
    Pro version makes the most sense and itll be the most selling one, with good pricing.
    Rally version will be way more expensive, around 13k€ and will be sold much later than pro.
    Configuration of rally version doesn't make sense for 99% of users.
    More suspension travel is always good thing, but all the rest changes doesn't make sense for most - and it is logical, its RALLY version. More like showoff toy/tech presentation to show the world what they can do - very light twin.
    Pro is the way to go. Base model also doesn't make too much sense, worse suspension and only about 800€ cheaper than pro, why would anyone choose it.

    • @Angry-Lynx
      @Angry-Lynx 3 місяці тому +1

      Anyway, for now only the pro version is coming to market and its the only relevant version, that should be mentioned, not some exotic, expensive and coming not very soon rally

      Potentially the best of the bunch! This bike looks like an absolute bargain. Hopefully it gives Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki a big kick in the pants to compete against it - it's the bike the new Honda NX500 should have been!

    I'm sorry to say it but you just lost a customer. I've been seriously considering going on one of your tours and training. But it's one thing to review Chinese bikes it's another one to use them in your business. you really need to get educated into what kind of horrors are happening in the country of China. Would you have bought and promoted motorcycles from Germany in 1940? They were good quality.
    On UA-cam there's a bunch of people that'll get you up to speed on China. I recommend ADVChina, "the China show", and serpentza
    I'll continue to watch your show because you're the only one who reviews bikes that you have multiple copies of and multiple brands and a lot of experience on these bikes so I'm forced to watch your show.
    Sometimes it's not possible to avoid Chinese components or equipment but we don't need the Chinese motorcycles there's plenty of choices out there - stop supporting them.
