I’m having the director of this movie, Brett Leonard, on my podcast tomm , and he has a suprise about a new sci fi movie he’s doing with Pierce Brosnan & Russel Crowe - about The Night Marchers - which he wrote in a bungalow in Maui, about a mythical horror story in Hawaii (it’s an urban legend, and will be amazing!)

Washington and Crowe made this film into a masterpiece where producers and screenwriters faltered... Dare I say... Denzel singlehandedly carried this whole movie on the back of his performance which made it so good... he was supposed to be a very crude character with a revenge story... and yet he made the audience feel... it was like going from monochrome to full RGB HDR or from 2D to 3D - that was what Denzel Washington did for me in this movie...
Probably one of the earliest " oh dude, you should TOTALLY see this movie" recommendations I ever got from one of my slightly older friends. Now at 35, I recommend this along with an entire 70's/80's/90's smorgasbord of delightfully underrated movies to all my 20 something coworkers and continue to blow their minds. I can't believe how unseen movies like the thing, the Terminator, big trouble in little china town, escape from New York, the gate, Godzilla 1984, fern gully, Labrinth, legend, dragon slayer, hackers, 13 ghosts, like man. I could make an encyclopedia of legendary movies these kids have NEVER even heard of or seen. To my fellow old heads, Can you imagine living without having seen the land before time? The importance of knowing that even if she's not there physically, momma's always with you? Little foot was a teachable moment to love and respect our parents, because sometimes life comes at you fast, and sometimes you just have to deal with it. I don't think as many kids have to just "deal with it" these day's, because they can just go and lose them selves online. 🤷
Big Trouble in Little China is one of my all time favorite movies… “When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol’ Jack Burton always says at a time like that: “Have ya paid your dues, Jack?” “Yessir, the check is in the mail.”
I just love how the careers of Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe kept crossing paths with each other. Both starring in Virtuosity in 1995, then in 1999 both Russel and Denzel getting nominated for best actor oscars for The insider and The hurricane respectively, only for them both to lose. Then 2000 Russel winning for Gladiator, while 2001 he misses out for A beautiful mind, because Denzel wins for Training day. And again working together in American Gangster in 2007. Both great actors with amazing filmographies, born on two opposite hemispheres.
The cyberpunk genre: 1980-2000-2005ish. R.I.P. FX may be better now the writing, the acting, the vibe, will never be equal. Virtuosity, The Net, The Matrix, Blade Runner, War Games, eXistenz, Johnny Mnemonic, Hackers, and related thrillers like Spawn, Fallen, etc. Just a whole vibe.
Not sure what everybody was watching. When I saw Denzel in the purple outfit . . . I was really? Not sure if it was the costume designer, director or whatever. After that, I watched it and it was okay. But what threw me off is the public was dressed normally and then the cops were dressed in black. Tragic.

One of the greatest films of the 1990s. Criminally underrated!
Crowe should have an Oscar from this, he's hilarious 😂
Hindi dub release date
Well, he won for Gladiator, so…
In addition to being fun, handsome

In AMERICAN GANGSTER Denzel got to play the criminal and Russell got to play the cop...
I didn’t know that Russel Crowe and Denzel Washington previously teamed up in this 90s Sci Fi Cyberpunk classic.
@@josephlowry4320how you saying it’s a classic but ain’t seen it
@@Slimtheghoul I can tell that it looks really good to watch and planning on watching it soon.
In American gangster, they were opposite
I wonder if they have ever been asked that question!! GREAT EYE
One of the greatest films of our lifetime. A true masterpiece. Martin Scorcese felt the heat of this movie and had to step his game up.
I was just explaining to my husband how much I LOVE this flick. I’m SOOO happy that my fave line is in the trailer 🖤
What's the line?

Can you name other classics please I'd like to watch. I have a hard time selecting classics from pre 2010. Thanks in advance

The still makes Russell Crowe look like Rick Astley.
What a movie it reminds on my childhood
2:03 Foreshadowing Denzel Washington's next movie eleven years later.
I had no idea this film existed 😅
Recommended if you love the following:
Terminator 2: Judgement Day,
Johnny Mnemonic,
Demolition Man,
Nemesis
Even this trailer is so cinematic & interesting. The magic of 90's movie.
Just watched this on MGM+ on Sling. Really enjoyed it. Loved Russell Crowe doing the John Travolta Sat. Night Fever walk.
Underrated film
Russell Crowe at his hammiest.
I was 13 and had the BIGGEST crush on Russell Crowe..😎😎. Love Denzel Washington and Kailey Cuoco is adorable! ❤
i had to look this up. damn. well back then i did not know who this was. i only know her from tbbt xD
Russell and Denzel's first movie!
This trailer did not do the movie justice.

2:22 *August 4th is the 6x6x6th day.*
Why Russell Crowe's name didn't show up just the way Denzel Washington's name did in this trailer
He wasn't a star then
It was two years before L.A. Confidential and five years before Gladiator came out.
This movie introduced me to Russell Crowe, been a fan ever since
it was basically his American Film debut
@@MikeWilsonBarrettyeah that one and the quick and the dead. I think both came out the same year
This is basically lawnmower man without James Bond
2:17 That’s Reality For You 😎 - Sid 6.7
I love this movie
Denzil Washington seems to think he's in a completely different kind of movie than Russell Crowe.. He thinks he's in "The Pelican Brief".

Tragic.
Ain’t Denzel turn out to be a machine or something?
…Whose bright idea was it to make a computer composite of 183 serial killers? I’m no genius but even I know that I know that’s a bad idea.
I'm watching this now because it pop up randomly on hulu
Disney presents ... MARVEL's: Age of Virtuosity
John Nash finally lost it 😂 😂 😂
What a badass movie. My co worker Chris looks like the hairy beard dude in the sweater that tried to bring Shelly out the computer cuz he was a perv.
Yeees 🔥
Now this should be a remake.
David Washington as parker barnes
Austin butler as sid
what's the name of the song playing in the trailer.
❤ 90's trailers
When Russell Crowe wasn't fat & beard? How old was he?
Late 20's I think
Late 20s, around 30 max.
Well he was born in 1964 so in 1995 he was 31-32 years old
브렛 레너드, 대체 정체가 뭔가..
Gladiator vs. Gladiator II
Cool
If you only knew the half...
