    totally agree! worked after my bachelors, from that job i realized where exactly i wanted to go career wise. I sometimes find myself in the same roles as others who have masters degrees. sometimes a masters can help you get your foot in the door easier than a bachelors. but imo a masters is only really worth it if you know where you want to be and you want to move up higher in your roles. but overall i find work experience to be king these days (not to say that higher degrees arent important or valuable)

    Reason I am gerring my Master:
    > I know there I want to specialise in
    > My Master broaderns my knowlege in the field and provides new skills which my bachelor was lacking
    > It is free (I am from EU)
    > Master studies acts as medium for quicker and easier networking, interships and possibility for my future career.
    > Lastly but silly - I want to be a student again

    I’m gonna be completely honest I agree with some of the things that you are saying but I want to get my masters degree in business because it is a huge personal goal for me since I was a little kid and i feel like it can gain you trust with company’s right off the bat to show that you are someone committed and hardworking enough to pursue a masters after undergraduate school.

    I was able to get my masters because my employer was paying for it upfront. I had to do my masters classes after work. Then when I got it, I was promoted 🥰. I ended up leaving that employer to be closer to my family and I was able to find easily thanks to my masters and work experience.

      Is there a rule that says you can't have both? I don't understand your binary thinking. Why can't you do both!! Certifications have to be maintained, otherwise, they lapse. A degree is done once and lasts for life. Also, the social capital from a master's is priceless.

    I have a masters in healthcare administration, it’s a complete joke. I knew what I wanted, I wanted to work in Healthcare Administration management. I can’t even get in the door. Instead I’m working to a low wage job, and none of the employers take me seriously when I send out my resume, I’ve revised it several times, I’ve even networked and asked someone in the field on LinkedIn for some help and she totally ignored me. It was my dream and that’s all it will be. I have over 8-10 years in healthcare work experience and besides my masters I have a computer degree, sent that out years ago. The job market isn’t as easy as one thinks. I have a job and I’m miserable, absolutely hate it, and it’s so hard to get out of this. We were lied to by educators saying to get your education etc it’s awful

    • @KJJ782

      @@94D33Mnope they don’t hire me, like I’ve said before the system is rigged. I’ve even networked with people on social media and friends were like email them, even tried that and the lady flat out ignored me, I didn’t even ask her for a job, I just asked her for some tips. What it’s really about is many current leaders are very jealous of my skills and background with my masters degree and they are doing everything to prevent me from getting ahead. I worked at this one job years ago, everyone in my training class was getting promoted and were at a job less than a year, when I confronted management about it, they were like you have to be here for a year, when I questioned about other workers being at the place less than a year, I was dismissed. I’m telling you something is screwy with the job market here in the USA. I’ve come to the conclusion colleges degrees don’t matter unless your a doctor or a lawyer. Additionally, all those stem courses these fools talk about people taking, I’ve taken all those course like computer programming, such as python, I’ve even replaced hard drives on my own time. I’ve done the same math doctors do such as trigonometry, algebra, and business management with excel courses, I’ve also plotted items and made charts in excel for healthcare trends, these people don’t care about others trying to get ahead except themselves. I’m sick of being offered 18 an hour when my skills, experience and education all says otherwise… These employers don’t care anymore, they will have AI (Artificial Intelligence take over by 2030) many support positions are gone, so out of a workforce of 162 million, half will be done to AI and I’ve done the research. The real problem in this country is politicians and the media lying to the public and saying oh it’s easy to get a STEM job or easy to get a healthcare job, it’s the biggest lie if I’ve ever heard of one. And I don’t want a job or career where my salary is 18 an hr. I want at least 50,000 to 60,000 a year because of inflation if you can’t pay it I’m not interested. I’m done with recruiter and hiring managers games… If you want talent you must pay a good salary and employers stop complaining you can’t find anyone when I myself have the skills, education and experience and you overlook my resume. Why don’t you people go on the news and say gee we have overlooked resumes that might be good in the workplace. I’m done with these lies, degrees and experience don’t matter I’m living proof, the job system in this country is not fair for some people

    So last year I got my Associates Degree in nursing. Next year I will be going back for my bachelors. Tbh, there’s nothing that I want to do in my nursing career that requires me to have a masters degree but I still want to get one. I’m doing it for the knowledge and it’s a goal of mine. I like learning and want to do as much of it as I can… but honestly, for career advancement, it’s not something I will need unless I choose a different route. Then in that case, I’ll already be set.

    I have two bachelor degrees one in human development and one in psychology. I got into a masters of public health program and heard you say you got a masters of public health😭 that was speaking to me lol would you say it s worth it since I’m trying to go into a different field? Or should I just try to branch and get job experience in something that’s not necessarily related to my degrees?

    • @KJJ782
      @KJJ782 Рік тому +5

      I have my degree in public health like your degree.. I’ve applied to government jobs, private sector jobs, they basically hire who they want, they don’t consider experience or education. I’ve sat with engineers at my low paying job, now you would think gee an engineer they have all kinds of jobs in that field, nope they also work at low paying jobs. The real issue in this county is the over abundance of talent and less opportunities. The politicians and the media lie about this all the time, they pretend it’s easy to find something. I’ve done everything they told me to do, for my degree, got experience, networked, stayed positive, and still nothing. This country always talks about how China has propaganda, what do you think our political leaders are doing about jobs reports for the economy? The bottom line is our economy is doing awful and programs like social security and Medicare are going broke, the government is 32 trillion in debt, backed by high inflated securities, yet the federal reserve keeps printing money like water. The dollar to worth ratio has been going down for years. It should have stayed backed by gold

    Hey! I watch all your videos and i am currently looking for an online MPH program. I have one school that i already signed up for that i can acquire my degree and a graduate certificate in a specific area in public health. My question is, I am truly interested in all areas of Public Health. I love the diversity and all the possible fields i can get into. Would i be hurting myself by taking a straight MPH and not having a "concentration" or a graduate certificate? I am mainly interested in Epidemiology and community health education, but i do not necessarily want to only work in those two aspects. Will i still be employable without a specific focus or should i pick a concentration/ certificate to have better options?
