Are there any papers that looked at the amount of cartilage degradation over a large time period of runners?

I'm runner and I'm suffering from knee pain. Minor Meniscus tear and cartilage injury. No swelling, no locking
    It's happened 8 months ago.
On days when I do more activities, I feel a little pain till evening.
    Should I continue running???

I ran competative track (400m dash) for 10 years and the number of people who said they felt bad for how bad my knees would be when I was old always confused me. I've never had knee pain. I did worry that I'd need to switch to low impact exercises someday, but one of my old coaches still runs in his 70s which amazes me. I assumed that maybe there was some balance between the kind and frequency of running where knees wouldn't wear out. Glad to hear that there isn't much merit to the claims at all.
Have chatted with quite a few people with personal stories of knee pain from running, but I wondered if they were actually runners who worked up to running safely, or if they just gave themselves injuries and used that anecdotal experience to decide that running wore their knees out

it's cuz your coach has good genetics and never had any pre existing knee problems when he started to run. if you have prior knee problems. running a lot will make it worse.

Curious if non-bone injury is a factor in arthritis.
Can a joint be "thrown out of alignment" due to surrounding soft tissue injury, accelerating wear?
    Example:
My need for a shoulder replacement was due to grade 3 to 4 chondromalacia/exposure of most of the bone due to deteriorated cartilage.
Could it have been due to an untreated labral tear, and thereby, the cumulative impact of 10 years of "misalignment"?
    Due to genetics? Perhaps.
But imaging showed destroyed Left glenohumeral and AC joints, yet almost perfect joints on right.
Despite being a Righty, using my right arm and shoulder more than left, for daily tasks.

Looks like an incorrect example for comparison with "runner's osteoarthritis". These video and articles in it represent the fear of overloading and overweighting of the knee joint only during the high function activity. The shoulder joint doesn't have theese basical criterias.

this is such BS lol if you run 5x a week, more likely than not you are gonna put some strain on something which will lead to injury. i think the important thing is to do exercises that have low impact but also keeps you active.
