@@marionsworld24 it’s just unbelievable. My 90 year old mother says she wants to move to another country. I’m just not sure that the grass is any greener…as they say.
I am fortunate to have a beautiful cutwork tablecloth and set of napkins that my grandmother made for me. She stitched the same for all of her granddaughters. I never knew how it was done. So interesting.
Beginning of something so beautiful Marion. The last time I did cutwork embroidery was the last year of high school. (Close to 50 years ago).A beautiful floral centre of a linen tablecloth . I must bring it out and enjoy it again on special occasions. 👏♥️🇦🇺
This is very exciting, thank you for sharing your design with us. I love watching your videos Marion, your gentle nature and clear explanations are a joy to watch.
I have some pieces of cut work that my mother did before she was married so in the late 40’/early 1950’s. Her needlework was incredible, I could never reach her standards mainly because I don’t have an eye to detail. I’m so pleased you’re doing this because I’m definitely going to try it! Thank you so much 😊
Thank you so much for showing us all this sort of needlework, Marion. I’ve seen doilies made with this sort of look, but I always just assumed that it was some kind of lace-work. It’s surprising to see that it can be made with needle, thread, scissors, running stitch & blanket stitch. I think I’m going to have to have a try. Again - thank you! 💐🌻🐞🍄🦋🪴🍁🌸
I agree with you Marion, this is not difficult to do. A friend of mine asked me if I would finish an embroidery for an elderly friend of hers and when I saw it was Cutwork I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it but I persevered and when it was finished I could not tell the difference between the existing work and the sections that I did. I was pleased with it and the lady was thrilled as she could no longer do the work herself.
Hi Marion, this type of work is not too much. It is simple and straight forward, especially since you explain it so thoroughly. Thank you for that and all the time you spend on making the videos for us "hungry"😂 stitchers. I have never seen this done and I am glad you show us how to do it. 😊 Love from Jutta/USA P.S.
