The best video so far on the net! Your voice is so easy to listen to and take in the info that i needed to get the rythm and stitch length. The patterns that you did are good practise, and , leaving the loop at the ends of rows,Thank-you for helping and educating us.
I am new to Sashiko but not new to mindful, conscious living. I love the practicality, the simplicity and the practice of presence and attention. I love your videos. Thank you
Yep, that's what I need to do, a grid for making my sashiko stitches, which I love. Yet, my stitches without lines go all over the place...❤😅😊. Thank you for the tutorial.
What I like best is how the simplest stich of all looks so amazing on a pair of pants. If you just need to mend, you could learn just that basic stich to keep your clothes going. A basic set of sashiko mending supplies for a beginner is available for twenty dollars on Etsy and instead of tossing costly clothing and destroying the planet, you could make a work of art.
You just got a new new subscriber 😂!! I just loved your work can't wait to try hands on this technique. Your teaching is very helpful and easy to get. Just having one double, how to remove the pen marks that we made for our reference. Thank you in advance 🙏
Hi, thank you so much! The pens I use are heat-erasable. You can find the link in the description under the video. You can get rid of them by applying heat on it. :)
Excelente forma de mostrar como se trabaja esta técnica de bordado, me encanta. Siempre me habían costado las labores manuales porque terminaba aburriéndome, sin embargo sashiko me relaja un montón.
I have noted that hold the needle different from what I am used to, so if I try this technique I will have to create the needle support in your palm, all very interesting 😊
@@XiaoxiaoYarn I actually started playing around with making a little 9x9 goban earlier on some scrap cloth I had around! When I finish it I’ll be sure to share!!
Hi Susan, it's a sashiko palm thimble, very helpful when you do sashiko stitches. Here is a video on how you make it: ua-cam.com/video/rW96lpXKAgA/v-deo.html and this one explains how you use it: ua-cam.com/video/M-5RXN6Tk4M/v-deo.html
@@XiaoxiaoYarnI have the same question. Sorry, but in this video you only repeat your words 'create a loop so that the fabric doesn't get stuck '. Could you, please, explain this point: stuck how? Stuck in what? Thank you beforehand.

Hi, embroidery thread may give you another look. You can use any thread, although cotton and sashiko threads are recommended because they are soft and easy to absorb water and moist, and also environmentally friendly. :)

Its a wonderful idea 🥰🥰🥰😅😅
When you "leave a tail" does the tail ever get snagged or caught and pull your stitches? I really enjoy your videos thank you for sharing them!
Hmmm… I’ve never noticed that… but I imagine it can happen, that’s why you want smooth out your fabric after you pull your needle. :)
This needs to explore the new “Sewing Box”... not your grandmother or grandfathers sewing kits... WELCOME!
Lindo demais!
Obrigada!
Que encanto

What do you use your 'ring' for. Never seen anything like this.

How do you tie the knot with the needle? I’m not understanding how you did that

I don't have volume, so I don't know if you've mentioned what type of pen you use for the marking. 😊
They mentioned that its heat erasable in another video. Something like a pilot friction.
Hi, you can checkout the description for the supply list. :)
what pen are you using to draw the patterns?
Hi, you can find the link to the heat-erasable pen in the description. :)
Do you always use you fabric single or do you use it double.
When I did the knot wrapping the needle around it, I end up with two pieces of thread not one, it’s no longer a single thread.

do you need two pieces of fabric?
Hi Erin, it depends, if you are using thin and loosely woven fabric, you can make it two layers. Hope it helps. :)
Hello Xiao Xiao
Hello Filomena
Does anyone happen to know what the piece playing in the background is?
It sounds to be Reminiscence by Johannes Bornlof. Check if purchasing tho but I hope that it helps.

The last pattern confused me😮
"you can learn anything on youtube"
The music is not pleasant for my ears. I would prefer no music at all
Lower the volume
The hardest part about this is drawing grids, I cannot ever seem to make an even set of lines to save my life. 🥲
Try attach the fabric to a cutting mat with grid and then draw lines according to the grid may help. :)
I feel you. I started printing a grid on a fusable water soluble fleece that worked super well for my repairs.
Thanks!
