  • Extreme weather systems usually lower water visibility along our shorelines. And that becomes a hindrance to fluke fishing out front. I fished this day for fluke (summer flounder) out front after a major blow. Despite the conditions, I was able to cull in a limit along with a 22" fluke. 1/4 oz jig tipped with a 6" gulp jerkshad is all you need. Will discuss water visibility and how it impacts fluke fishing in this video.

Quick tip for the viewers: always try different jigging speeds. I usually start off doing slower rod jig movements for first 30 minutes and if nothing is hitting pick up the pace on the jigging action 👍 tight lines

How long is the rod you used? Did you try your cousins 9 foot rod?

It was a Daiwa Cronos 701MLFS (7') spinning rod. I haven't tried the new Labrax but have been using a new custy built by my friend.
