The best part of this years competition was the higlights from previous years
F
So true
😆
Ha, no doubt! I did get a good laugh out of hearing the announcers trying to hype up people basically dropping in and riding down though.
Thanks you just saved me 3 ½ hours give or take!
How the guy with the 540 wall ride didnt win last year still blows my mind. Huge creativity and such finesse to fit those massive balls between the walls for corbets.
Underrated comment lol
38:25 sick little jump there
FUCK YEAHH!!! I am so glad they were able to pull through this year, the couloir was straight ice two days before the event. It got maybe 5-6in of sluff over 2 nights thankfully. Props to anyone able to drop into Corbet's in those conditions!!! Such skilled athletes!
People expect quadruple mcnasty corks into it and dont have a clue how gnarly it is even when it's perfect let alone quasi-sketchy conditions like this
Hanz ' wall-ride double bonk off the rocks is still the best. F the judges last year. Hanz Rules !!
Dude, this event is rider's judged...
Yeah DC!!!!!!! Great commentary!!! Much respect for the whole crew for being out in the elements!
They should run this like a big wave event, wait until the conditions are optimum for big air and safe landings. So much more interesting and fun to watch when there's consistent powder. I realize that isn't practical for competitors and organizers, but it's so much better for viewing.
They choose a week to do it and pick the day a day before - the prior 3 weeks didn't have any snow and it got 6 inches in the two days before, but not enough to settle completely. Can't really keep the athletes for more than a week with not a ton of $ prize
@@randy_dev Ya I realize that, it's just so much better when these athletes can really send it.
I understand the conditions were shitty but this year was a disappointment. Also, Hans wall ride still the best trick thrown off Corbets hands down
You are such an inspiration. By far my favourite youtube drop. Thank you
Gnar-Kill this year!! interesting to see a difficult entry year as opposed to super soft landings.
fire! such a gnarly drop in
Piper with the FULL SENDY Back flip !!
I hate the drink, but I love the brand!!! Goooooooo Red Bull!!!
This was super rad
Danke für den Tip. Direkt ausprobieren 👍
Very beautiful skiing
sick auto-tune hit at 15:56 I'm jammin'
I would also probably recommend against using the DJI FPV for filming extreme sports, it is definitely not meant for film-making. Single axis gimbal, the drone itself is kind of heavy compared to custom drones, which maybe is good in this wind who knows. Unfortunately with this specific drone the rotors are in the frame, camera also isn't great compared to something you could make custom. In any case it's probably best to use a custom made drone, DJI FPV might be good for beginners / recreation but not for a professional event like this.
Impressive, given the conditions. Locally in Whistler, risk aversion has closed many high alpine steeps due to hard-packed snow. Self-arresting would be impossible unless equipped with an ice axe & proper training/practice.
Like they just haven't had enough snowfall?
@@Joeyfingis cumulative snow is 7.4 metres (no complaints there!), but the base has consolidated to 2.3 metres after the mid January top to bottom rain event, with not much since. Late December to mid January was a total powder hounds dream.
bruh I get the poor snow conditions but did they spend less than $100 filming this? I could have done better with 2 phones
Iwas commenting asking why the blue screen so when I tried it had me CREATE ACCOUNT. BAM!!! No more blue screen. ALSO. How cool was that quadriplegic? If that is what he is. Hats off to you my brother!!!! Balsy!!!
Hanz will always be known as the king of corbets he was robbed, still no one touched how beastly that was
too bad the conditions were so shitty this year, but these athletes still went nuts!
Tough day from the athlete's perspective. Icy conditions, with bystanders crowding out the run top, middle, and bottom.
People managed to put together some highlight reel runs in spite of the conditions, which is super impressive.
Typical run: ignore the loud ass drone buzzing around your head, avoid people with cameras sitting on the drop-in, send a cliff into an ice chute (gnarly!), get under 60 in time for the next big jump. You're obligated to hit the "crowd-pleaser" at the bottom; clear the cameramen sitting in the middle of the jump and stop before crashing into a blow-up advertisement and a bunch of fences. Look stoked.
Rad...I want to get out there and try this out.
Nobody understands how much wind affects your ability in the park. That crowd pleaser jump was pretty much useless because of how strong the wind was.
Corbet’s is gnarly even in peak conditions. If production or ‘skill level’ has ya jimmies rustled, No need to rag on these guys- check out the Olympics, ya know? Stoked for these riders
Til switch powder turns is a trick LOL
Does it make sense to have this event anymore after Hans' performance last year?
Awesome comp! Jeff Moran on the announcing... not so much!
The competition also sucked, go home poser
I love that they have a man jump and little girl jump at the bottom. Im all about equal opportunity.
lool, ok there was wind for the first girl but yuki didn't notice it 2 mins later..
Throwing shit dowwwwn!!!
I get the conditions, but they didn't draw a competition of "the world’s top skiers and snowboarders" either. Was fun to watch, but I was expecting pretty much all of the men to have runs like the top runs - entering switch, 360 drop ins, 2 back flips or big airs on the couloir and doubles on the crowd pleaser. The crowd pleaser also needed prep work it had a bunch of blown in snow and no reference lines so I think that played into not nearly enough big air. A couple guys even cased the landings.
I will make with
Redbull should have spent some extra money on some surface to air missles to take out the drone before they filmed anymore. So much for hiring drone operators off Craigslist... just can't find the same talent on there as you used to... 🤮. 2:15:05 "look at those turns!" huh?
The crew that does natural selection has the live drone dialed. This was outrageous, shaky af and really weird angles
guys anyone knows the song in the start ? hyped me up
POV you wish you could do this
Why do they take so damn long in between runs? Great riding but it should not take three hours.
whoever flew that drone sucks at navigating it....
Great video but may I suggest showing commercials in between runs instead of during the run? Not trying to be a jerk but man......
Very bad filming quality :(

Fkn boilerplate dudes
not the best event. tried too hard.
Most of the riders they invited were inexperienced and just made the whole competition look like a doozie. Constantly falling, boring drop ins, and lousy. On top of that the camera work was sub par and literally felt like a low grade UA-cam video with zero cinematography. Enjoyed the competition and congrats to the riders, but I hope next year they set things up a little better.
Dropping into Corbett’s in not for the inexperienced. These are all expert riders just of different skill sets wanting to have some fun :) The camera was trash tho XD
I'd like to see you huck it off Corbet's and do better, bud
@@Goulstem_ lmao just watch the other years they do it 10x better. The riders they got this year are really good don’t get me wrong, but just no where near as good as the other years.
@@moso8979 completely agree
😢😭😫 is 90% of the comments. Want some cheese with your freaking whine.
Such a bad comp
wait y lol
badass comp. I fixed the typo.
he's right since nobody was sending in in they just wanted to ski in
@@shanebritt8222 super icy
Ya it definitely wasn’t as good as last year but I do think it was the conditions
Yioo9
Hard to believe JH safety people sigh off on an even with exposed rocks. I've had 20 + friends die snowboarding/skiing. I've had enough. It's all fun until someone dies.
Have you watched a free skiing competition before???
Corbets always has exposed rocks.
