I just ordered the new & improved Shark Steam & Scrub with the removable water tank & power steam trigger. Tip: Use distilled water in the mop. I used tap water in my first mop & it got horribly clogged with mineral deposits. Also, I spray a little all-purpose cleaner on the floor as I mop. Works great!
Just a word of caution, if you use steam on laminate (and also hardwood) floor you are basically destroying it over time. It also voids your warranty. Wood doesn’t deal well with high pressure steam.
Im pretty sure they say this works best on laminate and some kinda wood floors on the website or something somewhere... are u sure? I was thinking about using tis on laminate...
@@SirMarkofthe509 If i were to get one of these are u saying the light setting wont damage anything? I used to have a steam thing for wood floors that was amazing but too expensive.
@papuzka0 There are sealed and unsealed hardwood floors. You can't put them all in the same category. SEALED hardwood floors can withstand the moisture and heat from a steam mop, and that's what it also says on the box. "Designed for all sealed hard floors"

I love your reviews! I want one of these so bad. I already have a steam mop, bissell crosswave, spin mop, and a bona mop. My husband wants to know if I need a storage building for all my mops 🤣

I really appreciate this video I can't express how much I appreciate it, I appreciate a straight forward video with no bull, I appreciate a honest review to, I appreciate it a lot thank you.
I’m sooo torn on this mop or the spin wave(cordless of course). I have the cross wave but I’ve been having problems with and I’m over having something with a dirty tank. I like the idea of just taking the pads off an washing. Thanks for this review.
Well then I might wait until you review that one too. Steam mops are awesome but I’ve been spoiled by my cordless machines. I was lucky and waited for the cordless cross wave to come out.
Does it work? If you want to clean a tile floor, it does well on the tile, just not on the grout. The surface of the grout is lower than the tile's surface, and the spinning pad can not scrub into the grout line. Just did 400 or 500 square feet of floor in a kitchen/dining and foyer. The grout lines were dark in some areas, and I had to get on my hands and knees + use a heavy-duty grout-cleaning liquid product to get a good result along with the Shark S7000/1. Like seemingly all steam mops, it's just not robust enough for cleaning the grout on a tile floor. The amount of steam that comes out of this product is modest. What is needed is a spinning brush rather than a spinning pad product. But I suppose the mechanism required to spin brushes and the brushes themselves are likely to be considerably more expensive. I don't see a product on the market for home use that has good consumer ratings. If you have found one, let us know. The floor being cleaned in this video is just too easy. The floor is smooth, waterproof and the same color as dirt.
Cool video. I noticed on IG you asked for some tips but then blocked me when I gave advice. Please remember constructive criticism isn’t a bad thing, it’s to help you out since that’s what you were asking for.

I have the original bissell crosswave you had back at the old house. I’ve loved it but adding the steam feature seems like it would be even better. Plus the crosswave is harder to clean up after use than this looks

Tip for the steam mop to heat the water faster. Imhave a shark steam mop and mine used to take as long as this one to heat up untill I said to myself why am I using cold water when I could be using hot tap water instead. It startedheating up so much faster doing it this way instead of just starting with cold water. Anyway I loved your review of it. The dirt that you go from the cleaner is normal if the pads get too dirty. Mine does the same thing. Imwould change the pads sooner to avoid getting any dirt left behind. 🙂❤️💜🧩🍒🦋
It took a while, like 10 minutes of messing with it before it actually steamed. I do not know why. I recommend trying to make sure the pads are attached well before starting it. Keep trying. I was about to return it when suddenly it started steaming. I had to restart it like 10 times because it shuts off after 30 seconds. I think it took a while for the water to move down the tube or something. It is not as good as one of my other steam mops on the porcelain tile floors even on the normal setting but it polished my wood floor beautifully on low. I have the blue one that only has the light and normal setting. I wish I had gotten the other one with all three settings. Mine is not pouring water like some other report but it used the water pretty fast.

Thanks for such a thorough review. I have an old Shark steam mop & have been wanting to replace it for years but it still works so I haven't pulled the trigger lol. I had seen a few with spinning pads & I think I'm staying with Shark, but am undecided between this one & the S7201/Steam & Scrub with Blaster Technology (silly to add technology to the name, can just as easily say steam blast or spray lol). Anyhow, I was wondering if you have tried it since you mentioned having to press down more & take more passes over the area of your hardwood floor that had the grease stain. When I have a tough stain with my current steam mop, I just pump a little extra steam & let the mop head sit on it for a few seconds then mop over it. If it needs a little more attention, I do areas near to let it cool & repeat...but I don't want to do this anymore. I'd rather have a mop that does it for me, HA! Seriously though, do you know if the S7201 is better for removing the occasional stain than the S7001? Thanks & I look forward to checking out your other videos.
I haven’t seen that one! I’ll have to keep my eye out for it to see if it’s something I would want to try but I’m very happy with this over a year later!
No for this I would not add anything to the water. The steam does an awesome job of cleaning and because of the heat you have the added benefit of sanitation.
I'm undecided between this one or the spinwave. My biggest concern is not being able to use cleaning product to use it in certain floors as opposed to the spin wave.
There is no beater bar and it’s not a vacuum it’s a steam mop. It’s two spinning mop pads. They are soft and made for hard flooring. The whole point of the mop is so that it spins and scrubs for you so no there is no option to turn them off. They do not do any damage whatsoever to hard flooring. It’s the same as if you were scrubbing but without the elbow grease if you will.
@Jessie Christine - I’m debating between this Shark Steam & Scrub vs Bissell Powerfresh for my first steam mop. How’s the reliability on the shark? I’m afraid of the spinner dying over time.
Nice video. Thank you. One question: when you have to unplug and replug the unit (such as moving into another room), is there a wait time for the unit to start steaming before you can use it again? Im asking because my current unit take about 1 minute to work after replugging it (even if I just used a second ago). Thanks
@@KeepCalmAndClean good to know. Appreciate the quick reply One more question if you dont mind, do you feel the velcro/sticky parts of the pad still grip well to the machine after being laundered multiple times?

I do see how it helps take off some work from me because with my traditional steam mop I apply pressure where as with this I don’t feel the need to. What I’m really waiting for is a Crosswave with steam!
It says distilled water to use. Had you tried with distilled water or tap/Fridge Water ? Any idea if we use tap water then will it damage the mop or not ? How about using it on hardwood for a long time. I am asking this since its steam and water both so will it damage hardwood on long run ?
@@KeepCalmAndClean You may want to reconsider the use of tap water. Mineral deposits could be building inside your unit that could cause problems later on. Might also be harder to truly sanitize with tap water. Superb video though. You're a real pro. :)

Oh goodness. That’s exactly the suggestions I would have had for you. When you washed the pads did you use anything other than detergent? Could be that I suppose. Otherwise I truly don’t know. I hope you can find a solution tho. 😭
@@KeepCalmAndClean I haven't washed the pads yet. I just tried it straight out of the box. I'm hoping that its because my floors are just dusty. But I plan on washing them with my other microfiber towels wit only detergent and then give it a try again... Hopefully it'll be better! Thanks for getting back to me!!! 😁
I love mine however, I have been trying to fix the bottom (the velcro) because my mop heads come off and do not stick😔 I have tried looking for replacements and cleaning it but no luck😩 any advice or ideas are welcome😅😀
Oh no! Maybe contact their customer service? I’m sorry that has happened to you.
update: I contacted customer service and just paid shipping and handling for a new one!
How long does it take to dry the floor after steam cleaning with shark pls? Also are you still using it?
It dries almost immediately. I do still use it from time to time when I want to deep clean my floors. I still think it’s great!
@KeepCalmAndClean wow I did not expect the quick response. Respect. Thank you so much. This really helps
@@suni485You are welcome!
Can I use fabuloso cleaner with this?
No you can’t use any cleaners inside the machine. Only water.
Can you put any cleaner I with the water? Would you suggest that?
No I wouldn’t suggest putting anything in with it and there really isn’t any need because the steam cleans and sanitizes! ☺️
@@KeepCalmAndClean ok! Thanks so much!
So do you still like this after 9 mths? Do you still use it?
Yes it’s a very nice steam mop.
Is this your favorite steam mop ?
Yes it has quickly become my fav!
Do you have to press anything on the handle or does it steam on its own?
It steams on its own.
That sounds great for my hand. Thanks!
@@ilarraza13You are welcome!
What’s the cost of this one
$179.99 at Target
Thanks
you can add some pinesol or something????
No you aren’t supposed to add anything to the water tank. You can spray whatever you like on the floor tho.
@@KeepCalmAndClean thanks
Good morning Miss Jessi how are you doing
May I ask where you got your area rig in your living room ??
Lowe’s!
Oops Rug*. Do you have a link ?
Where does the dirty water go?
The same place it goes anytime you mop the floor I suppose?
Would love to see a side-by-side review of the YMop Twin-Turbo: ua-cam.com/video/Vk5Hh-jCqUE/v-deo.html
Can you use any solution?
No only water.
@@KeepCalmAndClean Thank you. I had the bissell cordless and it’s not working (spinning) so looking at the shark. Are you still happy with it? Never used shark products before. Thank you for replying to me so quickly as I’m still in target. 😆 making a decision
@@melissam294 yes I am happy with it! It’s a great steam mop and I love how it scrubs for me so I’m not breaking my back!
@@KeepCalmAndClean Thank You 😊
Hi are your floors engineered wood floors? Asking because mine are and I’m hesitant on whether or not it will damage them. There’s mixed reviews online. Thanks 🙏
Mine are hardwood. I’ve used this on my LVP flooring with no issues. We have that in the basement.
Nice review...just get rid of that horrible music that those automated TOP5 review channels use...Its so annoying!
Ok for sure. So I’ll leave you my Venmo so you can send me the money to pay for the music ok? Sounds like a good plan! Let me know when you are ready!
@@KeepCalmAndClean I didnt mean to replace it with anything. Silence is bliss between takes.
No its not safe for laminate. My neice ruined her floors with this steamer.
I ❤ shark and all of their products.... until this one. Save your money and if you have the regular shark steamer just stick with that. Exactly same machine other than this one has rotating heads. I'm very disappointed.
I really love this steam mop!
