its tolerable. Its in no way an action camera, just a nice dash cam, but.... battery life SUCKS big time. Its about an hour MOST.

Would love to have seen a higher quality camera. The video output looks grainy and very low detail, lacking in image sharpness. No digital or optical image stabilization either. Bummer. Would love to own a product like this with higher image quality and stabilization.
I am onto my second 10c Pro. The first one simply failed to charge/connect, so the store put in a warranty claim and was replaced. My only functional issue is that the sound above 30kmph has a high pitched squeal to it. Happens on both units, and I have tried both mics that were supplied and I wear a Shoei NXR. It is rock solid in connecting to my phone and playing music or receiving GPS queues from Google Maps. Sound is good, not great. Seems to operate the Radio with no issues, but haven't really used it on a ride. When receiving the new replacement device, there is no where in the setup guide that says you need to use the phone app to format the SD card. Thought the second device was dead on arrival as well. But turns out you need to use the phone app for some things. The PC app wouldn't update the firmware until you format the SD card. Without any image stabilisation, and the high pitched squeal once riding, I would give this device a 2.5 out of 5. If the sound was fixed, I would give it a 4, but in its current state, I can't use it for moto vloging as the sound is terrible.
When capturing audio from other Sena units has the quality improved? Because with the prism it was almost useless.
The 10C Pro does retain better quality of another headset. Also worth a mention, if the intercom is 1:1 it can use HD intercom, adding more riders will reduce quality a bit as there are more connections. -Alyssa
I bought one of these about 6 months ago now... Here are my thoughts.
*Pros:*
-Camera and footage quality IS decent (I have no clue how their footage in this video is THAT BAD... Even in 720p it shouldnt be that bad. I think either the editor doesnt know what he's doing, or maybe it lost fidelity uploading it to youtube? What probably happened was it was in fact recorded in 1440p, then when uploaded to the video editing software, wrong codec was chosen maybe? Theres actually a few things that could have happened... and I dont wanna blame the editor either, even for pros video editing software is crazy difficult to master. I dont know tho... I've also seen other youtube vids that have pretty horrible footage... but I promise, the stock/raw footage IS NOT BAD AT ALL)
-Video Stabilization is very good
-Build quality is for sure decent. I ride year around including in rain... Never had a Sena break down beause of water damage... Of course dont push it, but it is for sure reliant on being a little water resistant. All my Senas still work. All though I've taken good care of them all, They've all been exposed to the elements, and all mechanisms and electronics still work perfectly.
*Cons:*
-Incredibly overpriced at ~$350. Sena has kinda a monopoly in this very niche market kinda like GoPro does and their market so they can get away with overcharging a premium for it. (Now do I know that for sure? Am I a marketing guy and have I ever tried to put tech together myself and sell it on the market? No of course not. I could be absolutely wrong and it could actually cost them that much money, but I've certainly had ALOT of other similar tech like this over the years, and I just really feel 350 is way too much for what it is, and some of the short-comings)
-The software is very clunky. I've written programs before and I can tell that the software designer wrote this in probably an afternoon. I mean it works... but important features are missing like pretty much ALL types of camera settings aside from resolution settings, and if your wondering what I'm talking about just pick yo your cellphone and start exploring your camera settings... and thats what Im talking about. I suppose I can live without all that, I hate to just nag, because it is a decent product... but My biggest complaint is the bullet point below:
-The biggest downside of it all for me personally.... *You CANNOT use it to stream live video from your phone* like most GoPros can... When I first bought this, I assumed that it did because thats sorta industry standard these days and expected that feature because of the premium price I'm paying... That was VERY damn important to me. I wanted to stream motovlogs or something to my phone and maybe Twitch or UA-cam stream it or whatever, that stuff is just fun to do... I should have made sure you could do that as that would of 100% would of been a deal-breaker, and honestly have no idea why Sena hasnt incorporated this feature.
-The jog Wheel is very small and difficult to use in respect to the other Sena headsets. Its often very hard to grasp with gloves on. And the jog-wheel button itself is VERY easy to click so when your just trying to adjust the volume, you often can apply too much pressure and you accidentally click the button as well... but whatever, not that big a deal.
-I ride everyday, rain or shine and Its just kinda a nuisance to take off your helmet everytime vs the other headsets that just snap off.. not a deal breaker but I was customed to taking it off my helmet to charge it and stuff..
-The SOUND of the speakers themselves as per usual are junk. This is the 4th sena headset I've had, and the speakers are always hot garbage. They produce very little low frequencies... It is extremely hard to hear anything when your going highway speed... I've heard this complaint before too all over the internet particularly on the forrums that the speakers have just always kinda sucked. Again... for the price Im paying, I expect at least high-mid tier speakers.
-Battery life is not good when recording. But I dont think thats fair to put it as a Con though because thats just how it is with all devices that do video, but its still at least worth mentioning. It would of been VERY nice to have a bay where you can change the battery like on 90% of literally evert other camera on earth. Hell Sena could of made them proprietary and charged a little extra for spare batteries. Right now, I have a power cord going from the headset down inside my jacket and plugged into a portable charger thats in my pocket... its pretty hoopty but thats what I have to do on long trips.
agreed on everything. Has it ever started music playback out of nowhere? Mine one does occasionally on voice prompts from navigator or whatever.

I like the stabilization the go pro offers; and other cameras; but, I think I'll give up stabilization for the all inclusive Bluetooth Headset & Camera Sena 10c Pro provides.
Is there any reason why the Sena 10C Pro doesn't record phone calls?
I've got mine and called a friend to let him know about it but the conversation was not recorded

Sena I see. Usually what is done in these cases is that you can choose your country in the settings app and the device enables/disables features according to local regulations.

occasionally starts music player or radio on ANY voice comm from navigator, anti-camera app or anything. Sometimes started playback CANNOT be stopped without restart.
NICE! Can this unit record video while being plugged in to the bikes electrical system via. USB cord like the old 10c did? (for virtually endless recording) This camera will be my next purchase.

My 10c Pro lasted all of 2 weeks. I had no audio unless I wiggled the harness at the unit. I know it wasn’t a faulty harness because I had the issue on both of my helmets. Now I’m out a unit untill Sena decides to send me a replacement
If I just bought a Sena unit for my Neotec 2 .....would this the right camera for me?
First and only question is it waterproof?
While I can pair my brand new 10c pro with my phone, I cannot connect the camera. On my phone settings>wifi, the camera never appears (my router does, so the phone wifi is functioning). The sena support site is down as usual, so I can't find any further information as to why that might be.
Edit: I found the solution. The wifi will not work while the device is connected to a the computer via USB. That's probably fine, the only reason why I was trying to preview the image while the device was connected to the PC was because I just bought it, I was charging it, setting it up etc, and wanted to make sure it worked. Normally you obvously wouldn't be previewing the image unless the camera is fitted to the helmet, not a PC! Still, it was quite annoying that my specific "see if it works" test seemed to suggest it didn't work. Maybe add a note to the manual about that.
Also, pretty useless documentation. What do all the different LED status lights mean? It's not documented anywhere. There should be a list of "when the status light is doing X, it means the camera is doing Y", but such a list simply does not exist. Maybe when the sena support site is back up I will find it (will the support site ever be back up?).
On the positive side, the audio quality is really excellent, which makes sense for something which is a comms system as well as a camera. The camera picture is pretty meh compared to a go-pro, but I think it's fine. Comparable to a contour roam or prism tube, maybe a little better. I wouldn't expect a device with all the functionality of the 10c Pro (which cost me ~$500 AUD) to have anywhere near the video quality of a $600 (AUD) device which is just a pure camera.
It's a good compromise for all in one but the video quality suffers with choppy image and lakoff Optical image stabilization. I would personally prefer a stand-alone camera.
Problem is the bulk and shit of yet another device on your head. Would love to buy this if it had a solid battery life, but they say it's about 1 hour? That's a no-no...

After the WiFi Charging Station video, which said nothing useful, this video is informative and back to where Sena videos should be. Snaps for missing the road trash. Sympathy for the drop - BTDT.
Non-video critique:
The 10C Pro appears to be a "20S with camera", which is not a problem. Using a phone as a view finder is IMHO better than peering into a camera screen, putting on a helmet, and hoping the camera is pointed in the right direction. The 135° is IMHO a mixed feature. According to the video, the lens can be set to avoid capturing the helmet's chin bar. The somewhat narrower field of view has less "fisheye" than a wider FOV. OTOH, the wider the FOV, the greater the "you are there" feel.
But... the camera specs are far behind most action cams. The camera now shoots 1080p @ 60fps - the Prisim only shots at 30 fps. The camera doesn't deliver 4K (I'm not a fan of 4K from bikes - for me, the point is moot). 2K is limited to 30 fps. Given its increased resolution, 2K's motion smearing is harder to ignore. Based on the short clips (what res? 2K? 1080p?), it appears the 10C Pro GPU does a better job than the Prism or 10C "notPro". However, there is little, if any, image stabilization. Finally, limiting SD's to 64Gb is hard to understand. With other action cams, 128 Gb is common, and I know of cameras supporting 256 Gb. The location of the camera/20S is limited. Slide the mount too far forward and the video features the right side of the rider's FOV. Too far back means the left side of the rider's FOV. A camera on a movable mount avoids that.
I have an SMH-10, I use a 20S, I have (but gave up on) a Prism. Strictly speaking, I've drunken the Sena Kool-Aide; I'm not trolling. The 10C Pro has some very good points (examples include voice integration, capturing intercom comms) NTL, while the 10C Pro is a clear improvement of the 10C, and integrating with a 20S is a very good idea... NTL the camera portion is simply outdated. As I've found out before, Sena just doesn't follow the marketplace, and does not hear what I believe much of the user base wants.
I use a 10c for a good 15months so far. The quality ain't a GoPro ofc, but it's enough for insurance purpose.
I get to listen to music, connect with riders pretty easy.
The camera may be outdated for sure comparing to other action cams, but this is not a action cam per se, it's a bluetooth com with camera. I don't expect the camera quality to be on par with GoPro for example. It's just a easy to use tool for beginners imo. While a GoPro is better at camera, newer versions lack a good micro connection (srsly, you need a adapter), and then you don't even have a bluetooth com yet.
This is a simple option for those who just want to keep it simple.
Don't get me wrong, i got 3 helmets.
- on one i have the sena 10c
- on the 2nd i got a sena fm type of com
- on the third i got a go pro (but no bluetooth intercom whatsoever).
I am getting the 10c pro either way, to replace my current sena 10c :p
@@Sclaus89 I like both your points. I've had quite a few problems with my 10c. So far I've been waiting to see if sena made a better 10c before i get rid of it and just go 20s with a gopro like my friends. I think sena will get to the quality of gopro eventually. But why rush, when you can gradually charge customers 400 bucks for a new product every year, that's slightly better than last years?
@@Sclaus89 I agree with most of your assessment. However why spend the money involved on a camera that produces flawed imagery and has limited storage? I think that many features in action cams exist as much for marketing as anything. Lots of features or not, any camera is about imagery. If the camera is limited in that direction, why bother?
True, but like i said before, if you look at the size of a go pro, and compare it to a sena 10c, i mean. Why hasen't GoPro released a 'vlog' friendly type of action cam with everything you need (like the 10c has so far, even though it has less quality in camera).
The view radius (135° angle for the pro, 125° angle for the normal - a 2 year old piece of hardware mind you) will always be limited because of the mount place. Whats the point of having a 165° angle if all you'll see on the right side is your own helmet? :p
Unlike GoPro, Sena does not release a updated version every year, even though many asked for it.
They had a Sena 10c Evo planned that never came through (for 2 years).
The Sena 10c came out end of 2016. So this upgrade (while small) has better hardware then the original which i like.
The pro version will not satisfy everyone ofc, i realize that. But for some people its a real gamechanger compared to purchase a GoPro and a intercom. For those who buy the newer GoPro version and want to have their voice recorded on the GoPro, they need an additional adapter and mic.
This device does all that with one device, is cheaper and easy to use. But i do know the camera is low quality, but for some that's ok :).
Indeed, you don't capture everything. But does the GoPro or any other action cam that does not support a 360° view?
However limited a camera view may be, i see this device only effective for: easy setup and instant communication between other sena owners with camera recording ability (not for action cam purpose or real motovlogging like those pro's - like walteriffic - have), but only for own safety and proof how an accident may have happend for insurance purpose.
Like i stated: i have a helmet with a GoPro mounted on it, but i don't use it all the time. When i'm riding to work i prefer the Sena 10c, so i can answer calls, listen to gps or music and have the device recording all the time.
The limited storage is not a problem for me, because i have it set that once the card is full it auto overwrites the oldest file on the card. I don't save all rides (whats the point of that) :p.
You have to view this as i do to understand my opinion. This device is best for normal day-night rides that don't involve long trips planned with mates, but simple rides to and from work or quick shopping rides. Nothing more.
If i go on a long trip, with roads i've never explored before, i take the GoPro ofc (and some battery packs because i ride longer then 2hrs..). But having all that footage means you have to re-watch it.
With the Sena 10c the camera is mostly on, but it never records with me. I press the button to save the '60sec prior-current 60sec-future 60sec' if something happend or i saw something awesome. :p
Either way, i like both setups. It's just a matter of personal opinion and usage of devices i guess.
No real point in discussing this to the deepest pro's and con's between opinions, everyone has their own choice ;).
When I check the memory card, it is blank? The device says "camera on" but it is not recording any thing? Any ideas
No mention in the Video if you can access Google Assistant via Bluetooth. I currently have 3 Sena 10C's, will the 10C Pro fit on the existing fittings?

Why does the 10c pro record a 7 minute video in different parts, I have 18 small vids on my sd card, togheter they re 7 minutes long. I have 10 videos from 3 seconds then some vids in 16 seconds and a few of 1 minute. Also sometimes he stops recording without asking or without pressing the stop button on the intercom

@@senatechnologies I use a 64gb sd card, class 10. My settings are normal. But if i connect my phone and 10c pro with wifi, i get a message that there may be a bad wifi connection, but the cam app works fine.
@@senatechnologies Well, i did send my device to Sena and they tested it, they did notice the same probems. They did send me a new one, which is great. The new device has the same problems... Well I 've tested a different brand of sd card, from a friend. And it works fine with that sd card. So the 10c pro doesn't support all brands of sd cards. Maybe in the future an update will fix thes issue, they say.
I have a problem with my sena 10c pro, I don't know if you can help me.
When I record videos, the sound is captured from the internal microphone of the sena device. What do I have to do so that the sound is captured from the helmet microphone? I don't understand what is happening, I changed the helmet and put new wiring in it and since then it only captures the sound from the internal microphone. I have tried to restart it with factory settings, changed settings, updated the firmware and nothing, it remains the same... I have even downgraded to older versions and nothing.
However, when I make a phone call or use the Google voice assistant, if the sound is captured by the helmet microphone, why isn't it like that when I record videos?
I appreciate your help to see if anyone knows how to fix it. Thank you so much.

Hello, I enter from the sena camera application and I have the sound recording of the speakers activated and it continues to pick up the sound from the internal microphone of the device instead of the helmet microphone, I do not understand why or what is happening, any other possible solution?

I hope the battery is better then the 10c, in the beginning you can record a vid from 80 minutes. Now, after a year, the battery can only record 50 minutes... that's sad.

Can someone explain to me what happened to the 10c Evo? This 10c Pro seems like a downgrade from the Evo stats. Although, a minor upgrade from the original. Not worth the price if you already own the original 10c. I sure hope another company comes out with something better.
ricefisherman who knows about the evo but the 10c pro with WiFi is actually a major plus. Not sure how better the camera quality will be over the 10c since @sena can’t seem to release a product on time or even close to on time

Why is it that you guys can't seem to communicate ANYTHING remotely accurate to your customers?

The trick to using this is to go for 1080p at 60fps, assuming you're not watching you're vlogs on a 4k tv there's no need in 4k. UA-cam will also compress any 4k file upload attempt, guess what UA-cam likes...1080p...guess what looks best on phones...1080p hehehe
Frames are a bit more important for 'action' scenes, you know when you're vision goes blurry at high speeds it's the same for a video chip and more frames means it'll pick everything clearer, I'm not even interested in what this pro looks like in 2k because 30fps is useless for capturing the road
So what the hell happened to the 10cEvo and why is this camera still so subpar! Market standard is 4k60 with some kind of stabilisation tech whether it is optical or digital by now. At barebones minimum 2k60 may be acceptable as just a dash cam. I'm outraged how long I've waited for an upgrade and just like the original 10c, this new one doesn't have the stats to compete in its own market. You need to get rid of your CEO and CTO. This is an appalling attempt at an update.

Please fix the Sena Bletooth Device Manager, it seriously will not work on my computer. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, Gigabyte Aorus gaming 7 wifi X470 motherboard with Windows 10 Pro, all current updates. Have not even had the device long enough to use it and already regretting the decision to purchase this instead of a GoPro. I will give it a bit more time and see how things change after use and hopefully and updated device manager will arrive SOON!
I have to use an older computer for the device manager to recognize the device. If I did not have the older computer I wouldn't have been able to use this application at all, extremely frustrating!
There is no reason this kind of thing should be happening in this day and age, not like its windows XP which is what the application reminds me of when opening it.

Vasya Pupkin the only upgrade I see is 2k at 30 and 1080 at 60 and WiFi. It’s basically the 10c with the Prism tube WiFi internals

See, these are the spec sheet numbers. I am looking at the footage, and it looks suspiciously like the old 10C. We'll have to wait and see private reviews, but this whole thing smells fishy.

The reason i wont buy this is because you will always have your helmet in the video... the video quality is ok but not good enough for doing youtube videos or similar. Everything else is a really good idea but if you wont fix it a lot less people will buy it.
I use the Sena 10c to do my Vlogs and I think my Videos look pretty Good. There not the best, but I've seen a whole lot worse, a whole... lot worse.

Another one of Senas dreams that will probably never be released just like the 10c EVO that never happened, turning in to a load of promises that will never happen.
