- Igor Koshkendey singing in the Oidupaa style. Video shot in Madison, NJ, October 2011.
I wrote a book about my three trips to Tuva. Lots of stories in there about Chirgilchin, Alash, and Huun Huur Tu. Take a look at it here 👇

I've been looking for this song for 2 days. It's the best song for my soul.
He is one of my favorites and is a very nice guy!
THIS IS THE BEST SONG THAT I HEARD IM YOUR FAN CHIRGILCHIN

I will! I got to spend some time with Aldar and his son last summer in Washington DC.
If you’re still a fan there’s a link in the description to the book I wrote about my three trips to Tuva.
👍🙏🙏🙏молодцы
I just discovered this band the other day. They are truly wonderful, bring you to tears beautiful. Thank you for uploading this for all to enjoy. I’m going to put these gentlemen at the top of my list.
Check also Huun Huur tu and Alash amongst others.
Lotario Vergamota I’ve been a HHT fan for years, Alash I discovered recently. I’ll be seeing Alash in concert this coming March.
I love this song
Игорь неповторим.
Correct. I shot and uploaded this video, although Igor IS a good friend of mine.
Кошкендей👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍
Thanks for this Michael!
My pleasure. I had the honor of driving the band around that night. It was my first time actually meeting them. Igor is a trip!!! And Aldar and I have become fast friends. Every time he's in the States I do my best to get to where ever he is. He is currently the Tuvan Minister of Culture.
I seriously love what you do!!! And I feel your pain. How do you even talk after that breathing exercise? I too want to master this talent, I am probably doing it wrong and destroying my vocal box! But I will continue to strive for the similar perfection you have achieved!!! Or I am forever muted!!!
Have you read my book, My Adventures in Tuva? There’s a link to it in this video’s description
fantastic!

It's a style of throat singing invented by Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun. Igor starts singing like that at about 2 minutes into this song. Vladimir was also the first (to my knowledge) to play the accordeon to accompany his throat singing, so the choice of instrument is also a nod to him.
It's actually a "bayan," a Russian accordion. It has buttons on both sides.
The bibibibi at the end says it all
@@ibeam23 I know this is 9 Years old...but a Bayan is not different because it is a Button Accordion, but because of it usually being of a different construction internally. Their Tonal Layout is usually deeper than that of a western accordion. Some say Bayans have trapezoidal Reeds as their defining feature. I believe Jupiter was THE Bayan Manufacturer. However a definitive Feature that makes a Bayan a Bayan is difficult to name.
@@janwintraken Thanks for the comment!
@@janwintraken Do you have an interest in Tuva? Have you read my book about my 3 trips to the center of Asia to spend time with its most famous throat singers? There's a link to the book in the description of this video.
good singing dude - keep it up. I hope to visit Tibet some day. Maybe we can share a drink or a meal and talk about art and music in the future.
Yeah. Someday I’ll try to go there when the pandemic is done.
Sorry for the ten years too late reply! Tuva and Tibet are two entirely different places. Years after I recorded this video, I traveled to Tuva 3 times and wrote all about it in MY ADVENTURES IN TUVA.

这是复合呼麦吗
Oidupaa style
这就是呼麦呀,我是图瓦人会讲中文的
This is not actually the uploader
What's exactly the odiupaa style?
I’m late but it’s a little higher Kargyraa style, and Kargyraa is the rumbling sound, the most famous and familiar type of throat singing
It’s kargyraa with your nasal port open
