I don’t know much about this breed, so correct if anything I say it’s wrong. I feel like these horses having their heads so high only inverts their spines and keeps them from using their hind end correctly. They have very developed, almost too developed muscles on the inside on their neck because of this. I understand this is signature for this breed, but it seems so counter productive
You’re incorrect. This is how you collect a saddlebred. This is the correct contact for them; as their balance and center of gravity is much different than say a warmblood or quarter horse.

We always finish our rail, we never want to stop in front of a judge, plus, they always ask multiple times so everyone in the audience knows what gait the riders are doing, and for the riders aswell. Sometimes when I’m doing a show it’s kind of hard to hear with all the trainers yelling at their riders instructing them.
The rack is a very comfortable gait to ride and is a favorite gait of many pleasure riders, however, these are SHOW horses. The job of the rider is to show off the horse lol 😂 the goal is to win not look comfy

@@pauljohnson-ih1xe Nonsense. ALL horses are 'very powerful' compared to humans, and there are _plenty_ of horses which are far more powerful than these fairly lightweight riding horses. Being able to move on a loose, or looser, rein, at least at one pace, for a certain number of strides, or for certain parts of a display or individual show is something that can be, usually is, and certainly should be, taught to ALL horses, regardless of breed or discipline.

If it’s the ladies five gained championship why are the saddles removed. Are they not just judging the rider and not the horse.
Why don't they follow the commands of the judges when asked to change gait or line up? Seems weird that he has to ask so many times...
Elena Horowitz they do do that in many many shows so everybody knows the gait they are to do. Also for enthusiasm.

Not one single horse can walk properly!!!???
its a prance thats what they do; even in the pasture

I would like to see these horses ridden in the ring on a _loose_ rein. It would be ... interesting.

they are very powerful; they would just run off with a loose rein, you have to ride them with a close rein or they will run away with u
