obviously, the raid must've had massive changes that changed our man's mind (there were not)
He hates it now because he thinks the skill ceiling is too low. But its nearly impossible for jagex to predict the skill ceiling of new content. TOB had such a high ceiling on accident.

Still the best designed raid in terms of interface and approachability for sure.
Normal mode cox is relatively easy to get into but like gnome said it has a lot of jank to it. Ui/interface wise as well as the whole reloading for specific layouts crap. Plus there's just so much shit in the raid that can be ignored in most ppls runs which just makes it cluttered and less streamlined for learners.
TOB is good but also like Gnome said, much higher barrier for entry.
Most of what he said holds up imo.

I’ve had luck camping mage gear then swapping main weapon, and spamming blood barrage as necessary

@@AImighty_Loaf it's boring and after 350 you don't add any mechanic, you just give it more hp and hits harder, either that or you are forced to break the mechanic (red x) warden insanity is a big disappointment and other rooms are harder then end room boss self doesn't seems right
@@osrs_young You do solo or with another player? I learned them solo but I haven't done a solo in months, too fun to do with a friend. Sorry you don't feel the same, it's still challenging and we only done 305. Will learn 350 once he gets his jewel of the sun.

@@osrs_youngthis doesnt really make cox or toa better so the main point of toa being the best by far is still true even if you want 350-500 to be harder. I do normals for apl 3 raids occasionally crank up to 305 or so but its not worth the effort for me

@@TS-jd9qs it’s the best you can be at the raid. For example, cox and tob have much higher skill ceilings since there’s so much you can learn. Toa is kind of bland once you hit the ceiling

Ive done around 400 toa raids including 500 invo raids. And about 15 cox raids, never tried tob but i can say toa is a very good raid until like 350-400 so its a good raid.
Ofc adter that invo lvl it does suck
It is truly a great raid experience. You can do this raid at base 50s if you want. And honestly, it really helps you do TOB and COX, which were just out of the blue, stupid difficult and have a really high price tag when it comes to gear.
TOA gives you a great item for the raid from the quest. Don't underestimate the power of the partisan as is. It's a great stab weapon and it has a buff for scarabs. Alongside a DDS you're totally fine.
For the noobs, you can do this raid for as little as 800k effectively.
But within reason noobs shouldn't be doing raids
Especially not so low of a cmb level and minimal gear..
You should have to be over 100cmb and need a minimum of 100m gear so that you still progress into a raid and don't start off with it.
The only issue is unless you plan on running 300 + you might as well just go do God wars or something the gp per hr under 300 is complete crap like 2m a Hr

I had never raised, average pvmer and I’m doing 200 solos currently. Lots of fun, give it a go!
I beg to differ - For someone who's colourblind the first part of Warden is always a guaranteed death, and also the puzzle room to Ba-Ba I'm near practically useless for the team since the monkeys look the same

There are runelite plugins/options that would allow you to highlight different seemingly-identical npc so drastically different you should not have an issue. You could highlight one to just be a purple blob with 100% opacity, then have another be like orange with 50% opacity, and then have a neutral one or something. I havent dont the raid yet so dont know how many differences there are, but you get the idea.
I dont do it this extensively often, but if i remember correctly, ,you'd shift-right click on a npc, then some options pop up such as "change hull" and "change hull color".
With these differences added on top im sure you could easily tell them apart.

The only thing I dislike about the raid is how the drops are rewarded. Firstly, the regular drop table is ass. It has a few items that are worth a fair bit (ranarrs, dragon dart tips) and majority items worthless. Completely messes up the higher tier raids because the common loot can easily be garbage if you roll on the crap stuff, which is quite often.
The uniques should never have been available from entry mode. Normal mode should have been 200+ where as you go higher, you unlock more items, thus encouraging players to push their raid level higher. E.g. fang/ring 200 raid level, ward/masori 250 raid level, staff 300 raid level.
The raid brings new players to PVM really nicely, it would've been better if they actually encouraged people to get better to be eligible for better uniques so the overall playerbase actually looks to improve their skills.
Cringe basement dweller elitists have really shown themselves since this raid came out

I know it’s like apparently super rare to get most of the non tertiary items on entry, but it’s apparently common enough that it’s happened at least 50+ times to get the shadow/Masori. I’m completely down with making the raid easier for understanding the mechanics, but it should have been like TOB with entry mode, where the main items are left out of the drop table for entry. I think the Thread and the Jewels are more than enough of a reward for entry mode on their own.
@@Forged4War206 yh its probably super rare but it doesnt matter if total completions are really high, if we assume a purple in entry is 1/500 (~250 hours per purple) and to get shadow its 1/19 purples (same as scythe), that's every 9500 entry mode completions a shadow enters the game, which would equate to on average 16 shadows that have already entered the game through entry mode
A good designed raid isn’t something that anyone can get into, it’s meant to be the endgame content for a reason, you’re supposed to get better yourself until you are able to reach it, tob is the best designed raid, it’s hard and punishing but not too hard that feels impossible, toa isn’t deaigned properly because you can’t even put every invocation on and finish it in solo or teams, which lets you know they just put all these invocations just to put them
I agree, people shouldn't be doing a raid at low levels and minimal gear
It should be somewhat hard to do, an aspiration to one day do raids.

I agree with this video. The game is good but I've stopped playing because my account was hacked and the game seemed to be progressing to just harder and harder mechanics. I think they are starting to realize they can come up with new mechanics to make things challenging but still keep it within reason. You don't want too much content where 95% of the population will never reach. Or just never want to reach due to difficulty. Let's be real guys we all know 80% of players can't do inferno/buy their inferno capes
I agree with your agreement. I'm a pretty casual but very long-time player, just now actually dipping my toes into late-game content, and ToA looks both very fun, and manageable at my level of player skill. A great place to begin finally experiencing raids.
The other raids have always looked _way_ too hard to break into for someone like me.

Have you tried the raid since the update? Legit feels no harder outside of p2 warden. Baba's easier, the room before him is shorter, zebaks was too easy already. Even with the buffs to his HP they made jugs easier. People blowing it out of proportion imo. I was finishing the raid with multiple ambrosias left.. still brews left that I originally brought in. Normal was way too easy.

And mind you I'm not some tick perfect super max gear cracked player.. i do have decent gear, but that being said I'm not some dude with thousands of KC in everything that thinks everything is too easy. That being said as fun as it was pre update, it was still way too forgiving for a raid imo. After the update it's still fun, but also feels a bit more like a raid now. But again, just my opinion, I've seen several people agreeing with your side of things so there's gotta be something there. Just basing it off of how challenging raids 1 and 2 we're, doing 150s on toa is by far easier than doing Cox or tob on normal was. Not even close imo. And that's not even taking in the fact you can customize the raid with invos so that mechanics that give you trouble can be avoided

Cox is difficult if its the last raid you do, just having the farming mechanic is annoying as hell, and then the randomly placed boss rooms makes it inconsistent to grind... COX is my least favorite raid of the game
