    It's crazy how this has so much transparency in the best way possible. It's the first compressor that I've heard that not only compresses the sound but also amplifies the character of the instrument.

    Really appreciate how methodically Ian demos each setting with slightly different gear to really show a good sampling of how each setting can affect the tone in tandem with the gear

    I just bought the new v2 of this today, and this video makes me even more excited to get my hands on it. Ian has so much articulation and expressiveness in his hands that it really showcases what the compressor can do.

    Bookmarking this for when I get my hands on one of these. I love what compression does for bass, but don't understand it well enough to come up with my own settings. Maybe playing around with these will help me get it.

    It's not actually a "Compressor" pedal or a "preamp" pedal. It's a "Better" pedal.

      Ah, well hidden finger hehe! Fun fact, been teaching my self bass since September 2023, and have now had 5 hours with a teacher mainly learning about modes, and music theory about modes and alot of music theory which has been like as if the teacher just hands out keys to these little boxes in my head and they open i go "aaaaaah" hehe.
      Also everything ive learned on bass.. i parked my el guitar for 10 years, but this year i bought one cheap guitar from gear4music and one month after a fender strat.
      And everything i learn on bass and all the music theory that this teacher ive spent 7 hours with in total till now this semester, has opened new doors and given me a fuller understanding, and i can't believe how i just leveled up in guitar i mean i REALLY leveled up just watch my older guitar content and you can see i didn't know that much compared to everything that has fallen in place for me the past months, so the bass reunited me with guitar and im on a mission! I have spent 7 hours with a teacher, but 1000-1020 hours ish somewhere alone practicing. My first day with bass, i fingered the D on the A string and the A on the E string for 16 hours straight just to train endurance in fingering and muting. I had to because how else am i gonna beat Joe Dart one day? :)
      The two last videos i uploaded shows how far i am on guitar now, and there is another video posted pretty close after i just got the Stratocaster and i can even tell im better now and its not that long ago lol, and i have not really practiced guitar as hard as bass just transferred the skills and extended them. and the music theory helps a lot though.
      So i see i traced off a little, my mission is and you can laugh if you like, but I do dedicate the rest of my life ever since i bought the bass to join the league of the best bassists in the world! I don't really care what anyone says, im 39 next month and i might have 30 years left maybe even 40, thats a lot of hours to become one of the best in the world, and the drive, the focus and the dedication i have now, i have never had in my life before to this extent. That's why i can sit 8 hours 12 hours 16 hours and even after a 12h long practice, it's still a little hard to put the bass away haha! So i want to be faster than Joe Dart with more or the same endurance and i want to be like Jaco , a genius behind the wheel, unfortunate he had to die the way he did.
      Anyways, i guess i have some pulls and slaps to work on, because i have not actually sat don and focused hardcore 16 hours slap and pull session, and i know that, well i dont HAVE to do 16 hours straight but i know that after a 16h straight session focused only on slap and pulls.. the next day after a session like that, and slap start feeling easier, at least this is how it is with everything else that i practice, the more hours i put in, the better the payout ( skills is the payload not money obviously )
      Alright thanks for your time, sorry my comment got so long, but im happy to share my experience with bass so far! And yes i love bass LOVE IT!!!

    What flats do you have on that mustang? Sounds fantastic. I've been using Thomastik-Infelds, but I'm starting to think they might be just a tad too low tension for my taste.

    • @OriginEffectsUK

      This has been redesigned quite significantly. So there meter are size are some big changes, the sidechain of the unit has also been changed to be more similar to the large-format models.

    • @OriginEffectsUK
      @OriginEffectsUK  Місяць тому

      Unfortionately, that is the result of it being quite complicated and produced to high-spec in the UK.

      It's the easiest way to demonstrate a compressor. Only the first sample is slapped.
