Fried Chicken | Cooking with Holly

- I probably haven’t made fried chicken in ten years but Graham was begging me to do this, so we’ll see how this goes! Maybe not the healthiest meal, but sometimes you just need some southern comfort food :). See below for the recipe we followed and watch all the way to the end for my thoughts on the results!
Fried Chicken Recipe:
1) Soak chicken in buttermilk for a couple hours.
2) Remove from buttermilk and pat dry.
3) Mix some salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder into your flour.
4) Roll the chicken in the flour.
5) Fill up 1/3 of the skillet with oil, put lid on it (or use a cookie sheet) and wait until hot (medium high).
6) Place chicken in skillet for 4-5 minutes on first side and 2-3 minutes on second side.
7) Remove then put in paper bag.
8) Salt, shake and enjoy!.
*Note: Add oil and reheat between each batch of chicken if needed.

@@hollyfurtick please pray for my 15 year old son, in the past 3 years, he had to experience the tragic losses of his maternal grandfather, and then on Christmas Day, 2019, his father (my husband of nearly 20 years ) unexpectedly passed away from a seizure. He has so much hurt and anger, and I am now faced with the take of raising him as a single mom. Please pray for both of us. Thank you and God bless you and your beautiful family!

Thank you, Holly for being so transparent and genuine. I’m blessed by your willingness to allow us into your life and home. We love fried chicken at our house and I’m gluten free. It is a lot of work and messy every time. I haven’t tried almond flour, yet but now I want to. We use a combo of rice based flour blend and garbanzo bean flour blend. The texture is great! We also use Nature’s Seasons, which has great flavor for the chicken and breading!

I love this! We make Fried chicken in the Air fryer also and sometimes make it by actually frying it. My daughter has Crohn’s and the Almond flour one is an awesome option and by the way it does taste better. These videos are great! Keep them coming Mrs. Holly❤️

I actually made buttermilk fried chicken a week before I saw this video. mine turned out great. I seasoned (with fajita seasoning) the buttermilk, egg mixture and flour but this was fun to watch.

LOVE how REAL you are. Also love how you include the kiddos! It took me 2 weeks but finally make the spaghetti squash carbnara! Of coarse where I live I needed to substitute some things...did you know in small town Kansas NO one knows what pancetta is! Even in the salon asking ALL week,, okay it was a week long hunt with no success LOL!!! Hope you appreciate my determination 🤣❤
