I just bought 100 cards for like ¥300. I have no idea how to play, can't read them, but it was cool digging through the pile and going "hey! I know this person!"
I love the fact it shows you titles that are very hard to come by nowadays without costing an arm and a leg to an average teen/young adult to afford XD
I got a free starter deck at the Anime Fiesta 2023 but I have literally no idea how to play the game! I’m delighted there’s an English guide for it. I had assume there was only Japanese version to it.
It looks complicated at first glance, but if you focus on how the system works, then it's not that bad. Basically, when the clock area fills up, that player's level goes up by 1. And the GOAL is to get your opponent to level 4 in order to win. They showed in their demonstration how cards end up being sent into the clock area. So if you really pay attention, it's not that complicated if you understand each part individually, then put them all together after you get the general idea. Just learn it piece by piece, don't try to memorize everything all at once. There are multiple parts to this game, but it's not as convoluted as it looks. Learn it slowly and you'll eventually get it.
Although this is a good starting point, there are a few things skipped and also one thing wrong. Firstly, you miss the Clock Phase on player one's turn (which in my opinion is imperative in order to build a decent hand of cards) and also, it's not mentioned that your clock or level area's cards colour is important as it determines which colour cards you can play from level 1 or above. Also, it's important to differentiate Encore ability and Encore Step. The Encore Step can only be performed during the active player's turn; not the apponent being attacked. If their character has an Encore ability that is a different thing. Not to mention countering and Climax trigger effects not being mentioned
this has given me hope that a funny gimick deck may actually be viable >:3 i didn't know you could do that, only thought encore was usable when something was sent the the waiting room during the encore step/battle step. Didn't know Encore just brought it back when ever it would be sent away. that's just funny, and i love it.
Hey can you explain better encore ability and encore step? (New to the game) Also there is a "savage" option to return some characters from the waiting room? I don't know what bond is too xD Too many things
@@DeejTiuz An encore 'ability' is a specific ability stated on the card that will be triggered when that card is 'encored' (i.e. brough back into play from the waiting room). The Encore Step is performed after your cards are sent to the waiting room, provided the cost is paid. Bear in mind that EVERY card has the unwritten Encore ability which allows it to be returned to the stage by paying 3 cards. Though some cards may be different if specified. Bond refers to when a card is played alongside another with the BOND keyword. If those characters with the 'bond' are on the stage together, it would trigger a new effect or ability.
Honestly, the main thing this game has going for it is the licensing of different properties. Mechanically, what this game is going for is done much more efficiently and simply by the Final Fantasy trading card game.
Looks like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it seems their more interesting IP's tend to be excessively expensive and hard to come by for the average player.
They print each set only once. The only "exception" is when they decide to print a different set for the new season of a show/IP (for example; Attack on Titan is about to get a third set for the show's final season). Since each set only prints once, the older sets tend to be VERY expensive and the trial decks become almost impossible to find. Like the other person said, you really gotta keep up with set releases & pre-order what you want.

It's pretty easy to understand how the gameplay is but if there something I don't like is that u has to be luck on getting Level 0 card when draw a card, because we can't use Level 1-3 card to attack and as backstage support at the beginning of the game. That mean we have to be carefull setting our own deck. We can't just randomly put any card we like in the deck. Inconclusion, it isn't surprising if u can't even attack on the first turn.
