- The Pi 5 requires 5 Volts at 5 Amps to operate without throttling, I didn't have 5V 5A power supply but plenty of PD wall adapters, I used a DC to DC Buck converter and a 12 volt PD cable. the PD cable to trick the PD wall adapter to output 12 Volts at 3 Amps and used the DC to DC converter to output 5 Volts at 5 Amps.
Interesting video. Anyone can buy something new, but remodeling something you already own is brilliant.
Thanks
Good job! Any collab interest on Raspberry pi? (PCBWay zoey)
@@zoeyzhang9866 haven't reached out to them about it, could definitely build a little adapter for under $15,
@@zoeyzhang9866 raspberry OS utilise PD IC handshake protocol with a PD adapter, my little set-up doesn't use this protocol, so although it can deliver 27w pi OS will still see it as an under performing power supply, not the case when using ubuntu, in any case you can always turn off the pi OS load shedding function, just from my observation don't know for sure
@@handymandan4736 Are you interested in any expansion board?
