    Thank you for the inspiration. I just turned one from Maple and used glass marbles for the ball.

    I have been thinking about making some rattles. Now I have a procedure to work on. That was a great idea. Thanks.

    Excellent video Erik, and a great walk through the process, the rattle ended up just right too. Thanks for showing the problems you had, so that we are aware of the pitfalls with the pressure from the tail stock. Good job again mate.
    Take care
    Mike

    Thanks Mike, I like to share the problems as it is the most important part of any project. All project have problems and it is how you fix them that determines your ability to adjust and make changes as necessary. Perfection is an insult to the gods and therefore I strive for beautiful imperfection.
    Peace Mike!
    Erik

    I always use regular wood glue and for some reason I used epoxy on this due to my haste and impatience, and yes I agree with you. I had just tried to do this with regular glue three times before and once again my impatience caused failures and I had problems shooting the videos and all kinds of stuff so I resorted to epoxy for a quick setting option and it is true what you said and thank you for watching and paying attention and commenting with foresight. I am glad you watched and enjoyed.

    What did you use for the finish? And it looks really good

  • @KAESowicz
    @KAESowicz 6 років тому +1

    It would be easier, and I think better, to make a "cage" for marble by drilling rattle from the top and milling slots on sides.
