You that new UA-camr who I look forward to seeing more of. Having seen your previous videos with the A6700 I went and bought one. I’m still learning but it’s a fun camera to use and I prefer it to my pocket 4K

I have the viltrox 33m as my prime lens, It was my first lens and I really loved it. I bought it after your review, although the chromatic aberration was noticeable but for a lens that price it's a steal. I really love the work what viltrox is doing. Plus i also love the work you do!

Happy New Year Brother!!! 2024 seems exciting let's see what happens!! Practice is good with dehancer. Might do an updated color grading tutorial at some point. Still learning a few new tricks to really hone it in though!

I love viltrox. It's not easy to break in the lens market. Now making great lenses affordable is crazy. I'm rocking my 13mm everyday and cannot believe what a bargain it its. Another great one Victor.

Any camera with 10bit color depth will perform very similar to the A6700. Even the 2018 X-T3 will do, since it's dynamic range is better than Sony's FX30/A6700.

As stated on Viltrox' website, this lens 27 mm focal length equals a 40 mm for a 24 x 36 sensor size (strangely named "full frame", when IT's NOT). So, rather a 40 mm than the 35 mm you mention.
Then, when you engage some sort of "active" stabilization (or other name, depending on your brand of choice), it reaches an equivalent 44,55 mm for a 24 x 36 mm sensor size (based on a 10% reframing ratio, which is a decent average value for many current hybrid cameras).
Very tasty work for the opening video, your color grading brings a very unique and classy touch to your sequences. Bravo !

Hey Ryan! Zebras set at 100 and watch for highlight clipping or about 70-80 for skin tones! Get the exposure right first and then you can play around with looks and LUTs! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Hey Victor, I'm looking to start a career in videography and I think this camera makes the most sense for me. I think my biggest drawback is that the A6700 only has one card slot. Do you think this is a big enough reason to get something else? And if so what would you recommend? (I will need to buy lenses as well but I already have tripod, lighting, etc.) And if you could make a video on becoming a videographer that would be great thanks!
I think you'd be better off with the FX30! It's not too far from the price and you'll get professional video features! I did a video "gear I wish I bought when I started out" that should answer most of your questions!

Did focus breathing also improve after the firmware update? I guess it's not good for video manual focus.
Focus breathing was still the same.
Do you have any info on release date? I’ve been waiting for this lens since the Fuji version came out but I can’t seem to find it for sale.

That’s right! 40mm is a great focal length. But I think if used with FF and the clear image zoom at 1.3x we’re closer to 35mm !
Good to know! I always heard that FF -> APSC was a 1.5x multiplier
I tried it with the firmware 1.0.3 on the zv e10 for video and the auto focus is unfortunately meh. I’ll send it back and try the sigma 23mm 1.4

Is this lens out? I have been waiting for Viltrox to release it for Sony E-mount for a while seeing so many good reviews for Fuji. I check their website and I still can't find it.

@@VictorLaforteza Thanks!! I can't wait. I hope it is as great as many said. I already own Sigma 18-50mm and 56mm F1.4. I need a prime len for sharper image than the 18-50mm and at the same time wide r than the 56mm. Been wanting to buy Sigma prime 30mm...glad this one comes out.
@rsat9526 if you want something sharper than the Sigma 18-50mm (obviously lacking a bit in that field !), I'd suggest the Sony 16-55 mm f/2.8 G. This gem should be included in the Gmaster line, but they don't do it with super35 lens... pity, because this absolute masterpiece of optic engineering deserves it !
I was first skeptical, because you have to be with every zoom-lens. Then I saw it perform in portrait imagery, then for landscapes, then in product photography... still trying to find flaws. Just try it for a day or two, inside and outside, and you'll probably reconsider your Sigma and its softness.
I remember this test driven by the DP Review duo (they now work for Petapixel). They were not able to find any flaw in the images, even down to the 2.8 maximum aperture... so, see for yourself if you find any.
And those 2 mm at the wider side of the focal range make a whole lot of difference, they offer you a "safety margin" in case you want to crop, or stabilize, or just have some more image to work with. Just the extra gift, what it takes to have you fall for this lens.
@@gillesmatheronpro I watched a few review and test it at the local shop. I am impressed with it but honestly I really can't tell much of a difference side by side vs the Sigma 18-50mm apart from the extra range on both ends which should be very helpful and sharper corners which I is what I am looking for. Though, I ended up getting Viltrox 27mm F1.2 instead and this lens is very good and sharp from F1.2 which is unreal. Another important reasons I picked up Viltrox over Sony is price. I find the extra premiums does not really justify the slightly better quality in the corners as I already have Sigma 18-50mm so I went for a prime instead.
I might just ignore the a7cii and just grab the a6700 with all these lenses coming out.
One of the reasons why I haven’t pulled the trigger on the a7cii 😬😬
