- It’s been 12 months since our first trip to the Philippines paradise of Palawan. And the off-grid adventure we shared in those Poalyn houseboats off Coron island was honestly one of our favorite family experiences so far. The lack of luxury amenities was the perfect contrast to our previous trips through through countless metropolitan areas around the world. Pumping your own toilets can be surprisingly fun when this is the backdrop. But there’s an even more famous spot in this province and there’s no way we can go another year without seeing for ourselves how it compares. So let’s get to it… in El Nido.

What I love in the Philippines is the tropical and maritime climate. As foreigners first time living in philippines you will notice your skin is becoming radiantly beautiful and I can see it with you guys a big transformation. Your mom and dad is now looking -10 years younger. ❤

About the changing weather, unfortunately it's still rainy season. It's best to hit the beaches here from about January to the summer months. However, the upside to going at this time is that it's off-season, so you avoid the crowds. Even in Boracay, there's hardly anyone there now (as i saw in another's vlog). Plus it's also off algae-season, so the waters there are clear of algae right now. :)
We love traveling in the off season. I’d rather be surprised by hood weather in the off season than hitting bad weather in peak season.

Actually. glamping is a nice change from the usual hotel resort type accommodation. Just a nice change of pace, to wake up in that beach atmosphere. Sort of wilderness type, but with the extra comfort 😊.

I’ve found that if you get the early morning local flights in the Philippines, there will be less chance of delays. Most routes use one or two planes during the day so any delays due to weather or technical issues get compounded as the day goes on.
