We know in life that which is hidden is much greater than even that which is revealed.
Sometimes God seems to be nowhere. Sometimes He's openly revealed and His glory is openly there.
The greater revelation sometimes is the Ayin which is greater than the Yesh.
That which is hidden, that which is not apparent or visible is really sometimes a greater form of revelation.
This Shabbat Moshe Rabeinu’s name is not mentioned in the parsha. In the holiday of Purim we know in the Megillah, God's name is explicitly not mentioned at all.
But sometimes this is the greatest compliment to Moshe Rabeinu.
After the sin of the golden calf, Moshe Rabeinu went up to bat for the Jewish people.
And he says, Master of the World, I don't care for any promise to make me great, if I am not with my people, if I am not with my nation, wipe me out from the book. Either you forgive them or else take me out.
As a result of this, Moshe wasn’t punished, but he was rewarded.
And now My relationship to you will be beyond name. A relationship that goes deeper than a name, that goes deeper than that which is open and revealed.
In Jewish leadership sometimes when things go right, every politician wants to take credit, but when things go wrong, they say , “I didn't know about it” or “I wasn't aware of what was going on.”
And on this Shabbat Moshe teaches us the greatest level is when I don't want credit. I don't want fame. I'm willing to wipe myself out as long as the light of the Jewish people is shining strong.
And this is the first commandment God gives Moshe: “VeAta Tetzaveh.” Light the menorah. You may not be the one who is going to light it, but in a hidden way, it's going to be your light. Because you were willing to wipe yourself out.
It’s going to be that light of the menorah that's going to shine forever and ever.
We should have selfless leaders. Leaders who will want just to see the light of every soldier shining, the light of Hatifum coming back home and the light of the Jewish people, the light of miracles, the light that will burn for ever and ever.
    Shabbat shalom.
