Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your workflows. Even if everything isn't exactly relevant to my business, I get ideas and tips that help me improve my own workflows.
Precisely why I do so! I am highly aware that no one is going to do things exactly like I do - no other operator is exactly like me. We all have to piece together what's best for ourselves out of what we can learn from others. That's why I'm trying really hard not to tell anyone what to do, or what's best to do, but mostly just what I'm doing. I'm not concerned that some competitor is going to reverse engineer my secret sauce, because it surely won't work for them like it does for me. And I'm very happy to know that there are hundreds of people that have picked up pieces of what I'm doing and adapted it to make their own lives and businesses better, simply because I decided to share it with you all
Great video thank you bro. Been wondering about scanners for a long time because it takes me so long to photo and list my pokemon cards onto ebay. Thanks again for your channel
Great video! How easy is it to sync your ebay listings with Card Dealer Pro? Also, I'm curious why you run your cards horizontally instead of vertical? Does the scanner take the card better that way?
It's been a pretty easy and seamless process, honestly, the interface between CDP and Ebay. I run them horizontally because the placement of the rollers is such that it would only grab the edges of the cards were I to run them vertically. Allows more slipping because less surface area of the roller is in contact with the card, while also putting more pressure on the cards to flex inside the scanner. Just seems like a better idea
@TCGBulkKings that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I really enjoy these videos you're putting out with your process and the scanner. I'm going to be returning my Epson and gonna get a Fujitsu scansnap iX1600. I really appreciate you sharing the knowledge about the backend of tcgplayer and how they were developing quicklist with these older Fujitsu scanners. Thanks for the great content as always! 👑 🚀
How has my card post been treating you? I was considering doing a trial run on there for selling, not sure if i should go with pro right away if i plan on selling a lot
I've only been on it a couple days, been a lot of views but no purchases yet. Understandable, considering the long-tail stock I have. But there really aren't a lot of competing sellers on there. Right now my 476 listings puts me at the 16th most listings among all sellers on the platform =]
A very interesting question. Traditionally I've defaulted to TCGplayer for everything, and occasionally trying out things on Ebay that I either can't list on TCGplayer (misprints, autographs, weird oddities like 4th ed Alternate), or non-NM cards. Lately I've been trying to add some TCG product alongside the TCGplayer product, to test it out. I am in the middle of changing a lot of this around now, which I will be publishing a big video about soon, so keep your eyes peeled
Also wondering if your scanner is leaving roller marks or scratches as well? i was using the fi-8170 for a year and it just kept getting worse. had to go back to photos.
It definitely did, but I've mostly worked that out with some sandpaper and scotch tape. Check the previous video about working through the frustrations with this thing lol
They are like semi-tracked. I do use them, just because they are so cost effective. They get a bit of extra peace of mind to the customer, and you get guarantees against lost or damaged packages. You buy the postage through the order page, and I print the label directly onto the envelope. You can do a label printer too, just easier that way for me. They aren't scanned in the same way as full-on parcel post, the "Delivered" scan is done when it reaches the last facility before being given to the carrier to actually deliver it. So sometimes it will show delivered a day or two before it actually makes it into the customer's hands. Overall, while it's not perfect, I like it a lot. I really wish TCGplayer would adopt something like it, been expecting them to for a year now
so for flipping the cards the right way, it should be fairly easy to write a python script that will automatically do that for you. i know the newer software will do it automatically but probably doesnt work with tcgplayer/older printer.
@@TCGBulkKings I will see what I can come up with. I’m no amazing coder but I ordered the same scanner you are using so I will have to do the same thing. If I figure something out, I’ll let you know.
I think it does for cards that have separate database entries in other languages, e.g., Italian Legends, but not generally. Also there aren't separate listings for foil treatments yet either
Arguably better with the newer Fujitsu scanners, as CDP was designed for these newer scanners. But it will work with any means you have for generating the images of the cards, even just camera phone images that you send to your computer. I'm using this older scanner because I also want to use it with TCGplayer's QuickList software, which hasn't supported anything past the Fujitus ix series
It definitely was, but I expected that and found I've been able to minimize them by sanding or taping the surfaces inside the machine that were causing the scratches
@@rpvaneyk ahhh I see, yeah there is definitely some fiddling with settings needed to get the entire card and not much else in the scan, but it's a solvable problem. It varies from scanner to scanner it seems on how gently they treat the cards. The scanner in using currently needed no sanding or modification to keep it from damaging cards, but definitely test on cards you don't mind messing up and try to mitigate the potential for scratches
I only post NM cards to TCGplayer, so a lot of better TCG cards that are lower than NM condition go to Ebay or my website. Also sometimes I just get an intuition that something will sell better on Ebay
Yeah I eventually figured out it's because the rounded corners didn't play well with the autocropping. We get better scans now with a perfect fit sleeve on those we need to scan with rounded corners
I'm not sure why UK sellers couldn't use Card Dealer Pro. May need some extra steps in generating the csv files to upload, but I would think it could be done. I suggest reaching out to the folks at CDP to see if they can help you out, they are really nice and accomodating

Yeah, this is definitely reducing frictions for listing on ebay. Unlocking some pent up potential for sure
Hey TcgBK... good news. Just acquired 5k modern pokemon bulk and 5k vintage mtg!!!! Super excited lots of 4th 5th edition
Awesome, I know you'll have fun digging through them all
Man this is awesome! I’d definitely like to use this for tcgplayer
Stay tuned for my next video, on Thursday, about how I'm using it with TCGplayer Quicklist
Just bought the snapscan s1500! Considering I have about 10 thousand cards to scan, this thing will pay for itself in no time

You bet, Greedo!
Long live the card scanner! 😂
It needs a name.... hmm....

Hey, Chase! Quick question for you, how do you determine what cards to list on ebay vs tcgplayer?

@@TCGBulkKings and that is why you're the king. Appreciate it. I will check it out.
I have never sold singles on ebay, do you use the tracked envelopes? If so, how do they work?
They are like semi-tracked. I do use them, just because they are so cost effective. They get a bit of extra peace of mind to the customer, and you get guarantees against lost or damaged packages. Take longer for me to learn Python than to just spend a few minutes and flip the images. Maybe sometime to invest in in the future
