Hey man, I just hit lvl 4 today after a month of working my butt off and Im so freaking excited. I just want to thank you for all of the videos you have provided to the community of sellers. I would love to have a conversation with you sometime to bounce a few of my ideas off of someone who clearly is a leader in this industry. I have a lot of respect for you bulk king. Thank you so much again.
Hey tcgbulkkings, i decided to try out using a scanner after watching your videos, picked up a fujitsu 6130Z for about $50 that im waiting for in the mail, will update you on it in case you decide to upgrade to an inexpensive higher end scanner! Did a lot of research before buying, seems like it gets the job done rather efficient
Yeah I've heard great things about the newer ones, I just wanted to make sure I had something that could do both CDP and QuickList, but I'm certainly interested in hearing how yours goes 🦾🦾🦾
Following this thread because I'd like to know too. Does the 6130Z work with Quicklist? If so, and if you can get the 6130Z scanning without any kind of consistent scratching, I'd really like to know how. I tried to follow the instructions on how Chase modified the S1500, but I think I ruined my device. I need to replace the pick roller cover, at the very least, haha.
@@FaryaWolyo_ as far as I've heard, the fi series doesn't work with QL, but I haven't had one to test with personally, and there's very little documentation or info about all of this out there
Thanks for sharing bro, I saw the card scanner vids a couple weeks ago but didn’t watch them and have just continued to scan stuff in from my trays. After seeing this, I appreciate your opinion - it definitely looks at least a hair faster overall, but absolutely far less mentally monotonous (still monotonous lol) then double / triple checking quantities, and sets, in the middle of scanning stuff in 😅 and as you mentioned, avoids user errors when listing, which end up being costly or embarrassing (having to fulfill or cancel orders 😢) on the back end, if there’s any errors listing manually. I’ll definitely consider one of these if I continue to ramp up my bulk in take
Yeah, it's definitely a little quicker, and very helpful with the consistency, which is harder to pin down the value added, but when you think of it as reducing the risk of problems on the back end, it becomes much clearer of a positive thing
@@TCGBulkKings absolutely a beautiful way of phrasing it - couldn’t have said it better. It’s a serious consideration for me if I continue pursuing bulk, tbh. Just the sheer ease of eliminating most back end problems, honestly seems worth it in most applications
Great video. Something I’ve wanted to do for a while with my scanner. How do you get quicklist to recognize the scanner since it’s not a camera. Thank you!
TCGplayer we're developing using scanners with QL in the past, apparently a particular series of Fujitsu ScanSnap machines are compatible. When you hook up the right kind of scanner, out will give you the option to switch to the scanner in the settings
Would you recommend this over using the pricing tab to list cards? I wanted to thank you for inspiring me to start my bulk business. I finally made it into TCG player direct and can’t wait for what’s to come next. Thank you!
Congrats on getting into Direct, that's a big milestone and level-up! Personally, I'm liking this over the Pricing tab, not because it's so much quicker, but because it's a significantly lower mental load, so the friction for me is lower, meaning I'm more likely to get around to doing it
Not really, tbh. Of course, any amount of savings I can get is good, but this shipping increase is and should be a relatively small hit compared to other costs
Do you have any input to have Quicklist recognize the desktop scanner? I have an Epson and I can’t get Quicklist to see anything but the integrated camera.
It's my understanding that QL doesn't support Epson scanners, rather only a select few Fujitsu scanners from up to a few years ago. This is because TCGplayer have ended trying to improve this feature for whatever reason, and this compatibility with these scanners is grandfathered in
Hey tcgbulkkings. I just recently picked up the S1500 and cant find the driver to install onto my computer. Do I need one or will tcg quicklist run without it?
It's less of a traditional driver. If you get the software called "ScanSnap Manager from the Ricoh website ( www.pfu.ricoh.com/global/scanners/scansnap/discontinued/s1500/s1500.html#idsoftware ) it will work for you and integrate with QuickList (at least, it did just fine for me)
@@mattthomas1758You got it to work without scratching? I'm stuck in a pickle trying to get my own to work. I'm trying to reproduce what Chase talks about; scanning it multiple times without scratches, but I can't even get 3-4 scans on the same card without lines of some kind, despite rigorous sanding... Do you have any info you could share?
@@FaryaWolyo_ I didn't do anything inside to the scanner. I did a 200 card test and all my cards had no lines or scratches. Might just be the scanner. Sorry I couldn't be of any help
Whoa, this is neat. I've been using quicklist with a document scanning camera, which worked alright... I'm really interested in trying this though. I imagine I'll have to do a lot of work to get the scanner in good shape to do this. Do you know what the part was for the roller that needed replacing in the 1500? Just in case I need to replace it, don't want to accidentally buy the wrong thing, haha.
@@OwenHall-ky3vv I wish I could help you, but it sounds like an issue in TCGplayer 's end. If clearing the cache in your browser or trying a different browser didn't work, then they will have to look into it for you. I'm so sorry that's happening for you, and I hope you get it figured out soon
Been using quicklist with a webcam but recently found a ScanSnap iX500 but haven’t inquired about purchasing it. Do you have any insight if it would work with quicklist just like Yours does or are there only certain ones that work best.
Some scanners leave scratches, this one did. Most of the time this can be stopped with some sandpaper. Newer scanners also work better at not damaging the cards
Hey thank you for the content. I just started selling some magic and Grand archive on player low in cards for the most part I was wondering if you can do something on shipping it says 99 cent but when you have somebody by like 40 25 cent cards shipping is more than 99 cent I'm a little confused do you have a video already or could you make one. I could really use the help.
Cheapest option is using an oversized envelope (flats), more expensive option is tracked. Both of them would eat into your margin, but you have to do it ....at least it's still profitable since you got around $8.50 for an order that large, and the most you have to pay is around 4.50
Thank you for the response. I'd like to ask you another question real quick. what do the folks that sell cards for $0.10 a piece do when somebody orders 40 10 cent cards that would put your shipping over the total cost of the cards wouldn't it.
It's pretty close to breakeven there, yeah. I just ship them. If I sold those cards 2 at a time, I'd still be breaking even, so it's really not that different. Basically, I'm still getting close to the same margin on larger orders as I am smaller ones, on a per card basis. Some of the mid-size orders are better margins - if I could sell 5 cards at a time every time, it would be better. I treat those orders as opportunities to earn lifetime customers by showing how well I package, how quickly I ship, and giving them the chance to shop with me again
@@TCGBulkKings did you get it secondhand or new? I need to get a scanner soon. I have over 300k in bulk I still need to list and manual isn’t working too well haha. Do overhead document scanners also work with Quicklist?
