Hi! No, you don't bake it until its fixed to the bead base, or whatever else you use it for, it didnt distort in the video because its Cernit, Cernit holds its shape really well and remains firm... A little tip for you if you find your clay too soft when slicing - pop it in the fridge for 15 or 20 mins... Or if its too soft when you are rolling it out - roll it onto a sheet of paper and leave it for an hour, this will draw some of the plasticiser out and firm it up a bit for you :-)
Fantastic. Thank you so much for putting this vid on here for us all. I am a crafter and love making jewellery plus always wanted to get back to using Fimo. You gave me some really good ideas, Thank you once again.xx
This is an older video with great teaching on canes but I cannot believe no one mentioned the smoke/fire alarm that kept going off in the background. :) Thanks for the video!
Great tutorial. Like your style of videoing where we can clearly see what you’re doing and also see yourself. Your explain everything very well. Thank you. 🌲🌝☘️
Best cane tutorial i have seen simple instructions no Unnecessary chit chat perfect ! i am truly inspired now to create my canes .😀 Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much your clay canes are wonderful and easy to follow - but sorry, I'm new to making things with clay - so after making the bead and buttons, do they then have to be baked in an oven and for how long? Also, could I use airdry clay? Would be lovely if you would reply to me.
Can I ask what thickness they should be rolled to, I don't currently have a pasta machine as don't want to get one till I'm amlittle more experienced etc, and can I use anything knife like to cut them and a normal rolling pin, or does it need to be glass or acrylic? Thanks Clare x
I'm looking to make a custom set of poker chips and I was wondering if this would be the best technique or if there is a better method to make the disks.
I think a cool idea would to make the waste ends into beads. Sell em or uses em as "wonkey buttons". Or maybe just slice the up and have the most wonkey in the center and place the others around it and then press it into maybe a bowl or something like that
Hi, is it possible for a tutorial showing how to make a cane that has a word or letter displayed once it is cut or is this too complicated...love your tutorials but am quite new to using polymer clay
yea ...made this and had a few problems ... it was my first time though so im aloud a few mistakes! came out with really pretty colors though! gonna have to try again when i get a better blade (was using an exacto blade ....) xD also had a few bubbles through out ....really gotta remake this though!
You'd have to find an oven big enough for a walking stick... :P Also I don't think it would be wise making a walking stick out of polymer clay- it isn't the most resistant/strongest of materials so would be a poor choice of material for something that a person would be putting a fair bit of weight/pressure on :)
Well you'd still have to find an oven big enough and it would still break incredibly easily... not to mention the whole point of a cane is for the pattern in the cross-section (which you can only see at the ends, which would both be hidden)
You could use this technique with eraser clay, yes, but I'm pretty sure the clay she is using is regular oven bake polymer clay (I assume made by Cernit, seeing as she plugged them at the beginning).
hello! I'm from India. could you please tell me how to bake premo polymer clay in convection microwave oven? In my convection oven i have 100*C and 140*C but there is no option for 130*C. I am very scared to bake it for 20-30min. Please help me :'(
I just read all these comments, and you guys must be even more bored than I am to obsess over a silly misspoken word about a color, some of her other canes in the front do have pink in them and she said pink when she was doing the next one. Like I said You may be bored, but I am the idiot that still read all the comments!!HAHA!
Ty so much. This is, by far, the easiest cane video tutorial I have seen yet! 👌🏼💕😁

How amazing would it be to work for a polymer clay manufacturer! I’d be in clay heaven!
Thank you. You are really good at teaching. Your tutorial was just great. Thank you for teaching me.
Great tutorial! I love that you gave us a couple of examples of how to use the canes.
Fantastic. Thank you so much for putting this vid on here for us all. I am a crafter and love making jewellery plus always wanted to get back to using Fimo. You gave me some really good ideas, Thank you once again.xx
Great video. I'm a newbie and this is the best teaching demo so far. Thanks.
Thank you! It's perfect for me, I am a beginner!
I wish I were as skillful as you. It is a pleasure to watch you work -- but then my clumsy fingers try to imitate -- and, uh oh!
This is an older video with great teaching on canes but I cannot believe no one mentioned the smoke/fire alarm that kept going off in the background. :) Thanks for the video!
I think it was a pedestrian crossing outside.

Do you have any tutorials for making things with bought canes? (already finished)?
Can I ask what thickness they should be rolled to, I don't currently have a pasta machine as don't want to get one till I'm amlittle more experienced etc, and can I use anything knife like to cut them and a normal rolling pin, or does it need to be glass or acrylic? Thanks Clare x
Love these tutorials! Can't wait to get started! :D
Very nice video quality. simple and informative. thank you.
Thank you! Great job, where did I get polimer clay?
I'm looking to make a custom set of poker chips and I was wondering if this would be the best technique or if there is a better method to make the disks.

After you have reduced the cane are you suppose to bake it, and then slice it when you want it?
I have a question: Don't the canes become hard after a while? The unbaked unused ones.
How much clay are u using for each pioece also, what type of clay?
Her: and now we are going to use tthe pink,
Me: uhh wait there now hun , Its PURPLE!!!
LOL
What do u do with a cane after u make them ?
Hi, is it possible for a tutorial showing how to make a cane that has a word or letter displayed once it is cut or is this too complicated...love your tutorials but am quite new to using polymer clay
the air will expand during the baking process, this can cause distortion or delamination of the layers.....best try to avoid it!
Great informative video! Thank you!
¿Dónde puedo comprar sus productos en MÉXICO?
What is that block that you are using? Granite?
sure can..... we are just doing christmas themed tutorials for now, but watch this space for some fruit cane magic!
Great tutorial!
Great video. I got so much from it.Thank you.
Love it great technique!
nice tutorials.. thx for sharing..
I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to make these beads ALOT smaller I'm assuming its the same way but with smaller canes right?
eres toda una artista te admiramos mucho un abrazi
I love this so awesome I need to try this!
Can you do fruit canes ?? If so can you do a tutorial please !
The video is really good but how on earth is that pink?
Light may make the colors look different. Or she could have just said the wrong word.
i think it might be purple but anyway you are so awsome at making clay canes
GREAT VIDEO CONGRATULATIONS
how do you store your clay and canes, that you didnt use?
Helpful thanks

Amazing 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
didnt you know? - purple is the new pink...:-) sorry... was having one of those days!
If the lighting made the pink one look purple in the first video how come the white looked white and the green was green?
ɱɑyɓɛ itร ɑ ɗɑʀkɛʀ รɦɑɗɛ ѳԲ piɳk ?
Tell me, is it possible to store such billets and, if so, how
super !!! merci
Mary Poppins Ascent!!!!!!!!!!! lol
I want to do this with fondant so that I can actually eat it. It looks like candy X3
Thank you x
Will this work with a longer size cane eg. walking stick?
You'd have to find an oven big enough for a walking stick... :P Also I don't think it would be wise making a walking stick out of polymer clay- it isn't the most resistant/strongest of materials so would be a poor choice of material for something that a person would be putting a fair bit of weight/pressure on :)
its for drama class
Well you'd still have to find an oven big enough and it would still break incredibly easily... not to mention the whole point of a cane is for the pattern in the cross-section (which you can only see at the ends, which would both be hidden)
what kind of clay do you use?
She plugged/advertised for Cernit at the beginning, so I can only assume she is using Cernit's range of oven bake polymer clay
I'm late to the party, but thank you anyway!
What happens if there are air bubbles?
superrrrrrrr
what kind of clay did you use
Michael Zantow Polymer clay is what she used
You guys, she must have just said pink instead of purple..people make mistakes, all the time :)
Thxs so much
Is it used to make rubbers
You could use this technique with eraser clay, yes, but I'm pretty sure the clay she is using is regular oven bake polymer clay (I assume made by Cernit, seeing as she plugged them at the beginning).
how to handle with the excess clay that cut off? o.o
❤

do the lower temp for a slightly longer time, keep an eye on it the whole time
You can google the temps to cook polymer clay depending on which make of clay you're using
Make sure you use a separate oven for baking clay in , you cannot use an oven that is used for food .
por favor cuàl es la receta d esta masa?
mirala como porcelana fria hay diferentes opciones personalmente creo que la que le agrega suavitel es la mejor formula de porcelana fria
I like your voice. :)
Cant we just use a eyepin not poking and making a hole
What is the cane used for?
A cane can be used on jewellery or as decorations on anything the ideas are endless
+Rosie Bird Couldn't of said it any better!
+kyia1414 umm.. did you not watch the rest of the video?
OceanSwimmer101 um... it's a valid question because all she showed how to make was a bead and a button...
we know!..poor karen she is colourblind!
Ahh yummy Twinkie
is my computers graphix card messed up, because that is purple.....not pink.....right???
The colour is purple not pink but they are well mint

You know it's not pink it's purple
It’s purple not pink
Did she mean purple lol
that aint pink!
lol :-)
Sorry thats purple not pink
You slice it before you bake it.
No, you don't actually. That would be extremely dumb, as it would crush rather than slice
That's purple not pink lol :-)
