Rhino is iconic in Spider-Man
big fat liar!!
SIDEWAYS
Paul Giamatti was incredible in The Holdovers. It’s among my favorite films of the year.
Agree!
This is great, I need Paul in Knives Out 3 ASAP.
Right?!
fr
He’d be incredible in knives out
Swear to god josh may be the best interviewer ever, the guests always seem so comfortable and enjoying being interviewed
Very kind!! Thanks!
I loved The Holdovers. We rewatched Sideways when The Holdovers was released. Both movies are a delight.
Win Win, Sideways and Holdovers are my top three. Paul is an incredible actor
This is easily the best movie interview podcast out there, and Paul is incredible! Thanks Josh!
Woo! Appreciate that!
Paul Giammati is one of best actors out there… love him!!
Great interview with an absolute icon. Hopefully the Academy get it right and nominate him this time.
Thanks Sean!
His greatest roll, by far, John Adam's, wow, what a talent
An absolute national treasure as an actor and your connection with him made it feel as if I were eavesdropping on a private conversation. Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When I was younger I watched Lady in the Water over and over. Everyone else hated it but I was in love with it. And after that, I made sure to watch every Paul Giamatti movie I could get my hands on. This dude is awesome
Yes he is!
I’m glad to find another fan of Lady in the Water out there!!
Loved Paul in The Holdovers! I had a teacher very like him in High School….Paul nailed the type of
Great interview. Always a pleasure when the guest is thrilled to be there and chat
Glad you dug it!
Paul is deserving of a lifetime achievement award. Everytime he is cast in a movie, he is the standout. And whay he did in HBO John Adams with Laura was beyond 101 acting school.
Paul and Laura are in the iconic status. The only other peeps that are with them are Del Toro, Streep, Diane Keaton, Jackson, Matthew, D Day, Chaplin, Keaton, Pheonix, Bale, D Niro, Devito, Pesci, and a list that is not your pick of the week.
Paul gave us characters for decades. Lets give some appreciation back to a guy humbly having us enjoy characters no good looking crap actor would.
On that note. Paul Giamatti is gorgeous. And he is lucky to have a great family that has nothing to do with the Kardashians.
I agree, Paul’s my celebrity crush, lol❤️
What he did in John Adams was incredible I agree probably my favorite mini-series of all time😊
Rhino is my favorite spider man villain from the movies. He may not have a lot of time in the film but Paul Giamatti had so much fun with what he got and I feel that energy whenever I rewatch that film. I also really wanted Paul to return for a spider man movie and see him fight Andrew again.
Agree
Paul Giamatti has been looking so happy, healthy, and handsome these last few years. I'm so happy for him that he can immensely enjoy his profession. I know he's an atheist, but I feel like he was meant to be an actor for some reason. I really think his upbeat, charming, sweet and likable nature is why he still remains very popular to this day. He was incredible in "American Splendor" and "The Illusionist" movies. 💘
Actually, if you listen to his podcast, Chinwag , he just said he was not an atheist. A surprise to me, I read that he was too!
I loved him as Rhino in Spider-Man
Me too
This is a superb interview. Josh and Paul have great rapport, and it makes the interview engaging and deep!
I love Paul's performance in Sideways so much, I named my son after his character in Sideways.
Great interview as always Josh, thank you 😀
I absolutely loved Paul in The Holdovers, but my fav performance of his still remains 'Pigvomit' in Private Parts.
paul Giamatti is one of the greatest actors of all time literally so fantastic I could watch him do anything
Yes!
Completely agree!
What a genuinely nice guy. Glad to see.
Paul is the Brock Purdy of cinema. We are so happy to have both of them win or lose.
Paul Giamatti is a gift from the Spirit ❤️🙏🏻
Phenomenal interview. Thank you for this!
another great one is win win paul never fails on tv and film such a great actor
Excellent interview! So cool you touched upon Philip K. Dick adaptations. Paul is right, A SCANNER DARKLY is the best one so far.
The Holdovers is the best movie since A Christmas Story, Home Alone, Elf and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
If anything, it might be the best of them all. The ending nails a sincerity and distance. It felt real because it happens. Christmas is a stressful time and we do some irrational things. But as this story shows, we can grow better from the adversity.
I love this movie 10 out of 10
He is such a great actor from his small supporting roles to his main roles that is difficult to single them out. On his supporting roles, Joe Gould in Cinderella Man, Pig Vomit in Private Parts, and Ralph in Saving Mr Banks stand out. His first big lead in Sideways was so good. He makes everything he is in better.
He also guested on Downton Abbey and was great on it.
I didn't know Paul Giamatti was going to be interviewed by you Josh but last night I randomly chose ( as I do every night) a BD from my shelves and this time I chose Cinderella Man , such a treat of a movie , Paul Giamatti is probably one of the best actors , if not the best actor, in the world! Thank you Josh , you did it again !
It was meant to be!
@@JoshHorowitz Thank you Josh, keep it up !
HAD TO HOP ONTO THE VID FOR THIS 1!
PAUL A LEGEND
That he is!
I'm always shocked no one asks him about "American Splendor," which was a major indie hit of 2003 and put PG out front - and came out the year before "Sideways"! But it was fun, here, to hear him talk about his love for the orangutang makeup in Planet of the Apes. Great podcast, boatloads of fun all the way through.
Josh - you are a fantastic interviewer, and I say this as a former journalist. Your questions are a mix of both insightful and fun.
Means a lot. Thank you!!
the hell...that was an EXCELLENT interview, completely out of left field..but yeah, Paul is always a selling point for me personally, and oh man, The Holdovers was such a beautiful surprise of a movie. Loved the setting, the entire filmmaking of it, and how devoid of moronic cliches it was, hugely recommend it.
Thanks for watching!!
Instasubscribe! Came for the Giamatti, staying for the whole ass back catalog. Wonderful show!

Paul is a national treasure.
As equal in time With Daniel Day, Paul and Daniel gave us legendary history.
Dan and Paul have done the near impossible.

We have time cast Paul for any Star Trek project yesterday!
Paul Giamatti loves Barbarian so now I love Paul Giamatti
In addition, he was the all-time best actor on Laverne and Shirley!!!!!!!!!!
I remember way back when I saw him on Donnie Brasco he had a 2 min scene but just his interactions with Johnny depp you knew he was going places
His dad was great MLB commissioner
Giamatti and Randolph will be nominated for Oscars. Holdovers will be nominated for script and picture .
It is so awesome that Paul Giamatti like the barbarian I loved the barbarian that would be amazing to see a Zach, Cregger Paul Giamatti movie
Marty Wolf!!!!!
Awww no talk of 30 Coins!?
Love him in many movies big fat liar may be my favorite tho
Love him in Saving Private Ryan - 'how the hell should I know? Would you just go find him? Thank you, you moron!'
PG is the MF GOAT!

LODGE 49 RULES!!!
Green Book, The Artist, Life is Beautiful, Hidden Figures, Appollo 13, Dance with Wolves, Downfall, John Adams, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Das Boot, 42, Chaplin, American Graffiti, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the legend of Buscemi in Boardwalk empire, Trainspotting, everything Star Trek seeing 40 years beyond conspiracies and flat earthers.
Dont ask Paul about conspiracies. He deserves respect. He has worked and lived a real life. Bless his soul and ensure he and his family live a good life away from us numbskulls.
Giamatti saying he doesn't drink wine and is completely ignorant of it is spinning my head.
paul giamatti is better than lebron james
Yes, but only at basketball.
Guy been visiting a plastic surgeon 😅
