Hi all, thank you so much for dropping in on my review of the new Nissan Micra. If you have any questions, fire them away and I will answer them as best I can. If you're looking for a particular part of the review then this may help: Design and Styling: 0:32 Equipment: 2:24 Space and Comfort: 3:28 What's it like to drive? 5:45 Fuel Economy: 11:16 Final Thoughts: 12:21 Also, just a bit of housekeeping - those of you that have watched my Micra videos back-to-back may realise that my views/feedback has changed in that time. In the original video I mentioned that I found the gearchange a bit loose, but on reflection I think that I had been spoilt by the Civic Type R that I had driven just before the Micra in my 'First Drive' video. I also mentioned that the ride was compliant, but that was I was travelling on faster roads, therefore I barely experienced the low speed firmness I have mentioned in this video. And lastly... in my first drive video I mentioned there was a fair bit of tyre noise, whereas in this video I say it's pretty good. The roads on my first drive video were a bit more coarse, therefore throwing up more tyre noise as a result. And....breathe! 😅Hope you enjoy the video.
Great review! This helped me make the dive and I bought myself a micra Tekna petrol turbo and I love it! The amount of people that can't believe it's a micra. A great drive and great fuel economy as well!
Got the Nissan Micra 0.9 IG-T 90 mid range model a year ago for €14k, same color scheme as you have in the vid. Feels good, drives good, looks good. There have been problems though. My windshield washer pump died on me for no apparent reason, and one of the back seat occupation sensors got somehow disconnected (is this common?). Haven't heard anyone else having these problems so I guess I just got unlucky. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong. Overall I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. Time will tell if it remains so.
I've got a 2018, black N-Connecta, 0.9 turbo. Fantastic car. Love the way it reads the road signs so I know exactly what the speed limit is. Just wish it had Android Auto. That's my only complaint.
Thank you! Two weeks ago my old Micra 1.0 (1999) with 1st engine (210,000 km) didn`t pass the TÜV (MOT?) any more becouse of rusty rear axle. Sad, sad, would Mr. Trump say. It was a wonderful little masterpiece, never made any problems. All parts are still still original. Okay. Last but ot least your tests and the words between the lines caused it: this week I ordered a new Tekna IG-T 100 xtronic with every extra they offer. Delivery time (Germany): 4 months! Now we`ll see... :-P
It's definitely the best looking of the generation of Micra in my opinion, but that style has come at the expense of rear interior space and front visibility compared to its predecessors. And those wind up windows,🤔 look like a last minute cheap after thought... Well done for the review..
@@CarObsession it just feels safer and more stable on the road. Front end of the fiesta felt skittish like I wasn’t fully in control. I’ve had fun cars before (had mgf trophy) but I just never felt confident in the fiesta.
@@britnyalfonzetti I get where you're coming from. I reckon the Micra is heavier (it felt heavier to drive) and the steering rack in the Fiesta is probably faster (I.E. more direct). which could explain why it felt a bit more skittish.
Getting the 2020 auto n-tec this weekend test drove it and fell in love with it very peppy little car and even though its not up there yet with the fiesta or the ibiza it does give them a run for their money P.S I honestly belive if Nissan give it a slightly bigger engine and a bit more power it could be one of the best small hatches out there. But will just have to wait and see
I don't know why, but when I look at the Micra and C-HR, I feel they could be confused with being Hondas. The latter even has a Honda-esque model name.
I really like the look of the C-HR, I think it's one of few cars that look like a concept car before the accountants get too heavily involved LOL. Thanks for watching Stephan.
Yep infact I love the Micra and Chr looks. Unfortunately chr costs too much so by now I will buy a tekna used one full optional and next years who knows.
@@CarObsession they still sell this model in 2020 as a new one And the one you are showing in the video has never reached us in Asia/Canada I mean this old one www.carsguide.com.au/nissan/micra/price/2016
It's certainly an improvement. It should be for £17k! I don't know about you, but I'd also like rear electric windows from mid-range upwards as well. Typical French (derived) car - flatters to deceive.
Yeah, it is a bit too much for what it is, especially when you have to wind down the windows yourself in the back! The new car is definitely an improvement, but its competition is simply too strong. Nissan is moving in the right direction though, maybe when it's time for it to be facelifted the brand can look to close the gap. Thanks for watching Nodge X.
Absolutely, Aaron. I follow your helpful sitting in the back seats bits, because I'm slowly getting around to replacing my ancient car, and at 5'10" I know that if you fit, I'll fit!
Nodge X Haha, someone actually said to me the other that they were glad that I'm of a normal size lol. Ok, I know most of the time you'll have children in the back of cars like this, but like you say, if I fit then most people will.
LOL I have a mate who's 6'5" and he has a nightmare on the trains and planes, so I sympathise, but watching your recent Suzuki Ignis and Celerio reviews, it just shows what they can do with diddy cars if they make they with a higher roof and squarer back - no, it's not cool, but neither is backache!
I know 'coolness' is subjective, but when was the Micra cool before this model? I'm not trying to call you out or anything; I'm genuinely interested to hear your thoughts as I wouldn't say any Micra before this model is or ever was cool. That's only my opinion of course. Thanks for watching, Naveen.
@@CarObsession I've always found the previous Micra to be one of the coolest cars around because of small, light, cheap and affordable it was. Now its lost all of that. If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch Straight Pipe's video on it.
Yeah, but it wasn't much of a looker, was it? 😉I know, I know, that's subjective, and all that jazz, but if you asked a group of people whether the last Micra was cool, I'm sure the majority would say "No, it's not".

I had a test drive today and I fell in love with this beauty! I'm getting it this summer.
I bought the Nissan Micra 0.9 I-GT Bose Personal Edition from 2019. Only 5 more days till it's mine. CAN'T WAIT 😍
Glad to hear you're excited - thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video! Just bought one and this has really helped
Love it well done mirca best looking supermini in my book

I’m buying Tekna next year. My third in six years first was Accenta then N-Connecta
Best looking micra to date i have seen one in the same colour as this the orange .
Yeah, the Energy Orange looks really good if you ask me. Thanks for watching Paul.
Good review & good car.

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching kofib3!
Just bought a 2019 nsport. Good review although I have to say I much prefer this to the Ford Fiesta eco I just got rid of!
Hiya Britny, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. What's the reason you prefer the Micra?

Most beautiful small car. Is it available in India. Deffinetly create surprise in sales. Good luck.
Hes a very good reviewer
Thank you very much Stmu31! Thanks for watching.
Anyone have any ignition starter issues after the car has been used on a short journey or similar?
2022 1 litre turbo N.
I do love this but I’d rather have a mk1 they are purely beautiful 😍 great review as always
Oscar, when was the last time you had an eye test? 😂I think I'll have to agree to disagree with you on that one. Thanks for watching pal!
Car Obsession a few years back 😂😂 but in all seriousness I do love them and will own one!
I don't even know what to say to that LOL.

why do they still sell the old body styling model micra !! and not this body!
