You really should watch the Dragon Prince, especially considering how Avatar elevated this channel. It's from the same makers and it shows, it has the same spirit to it.
@@junior523 I'm not expert but I saw something like this "In medicine, cyanide can be found in the widely used antihypertensive sodium nitroprusside, each molecule of which contains 5 ions of cyanide."
Jinx's tattoos are not only stunning, but they are also the exact same color as the flare she used in this episode. Jinx has been calling out to Vi this entire time.
Also: In the final scene of Episode 3, the blue smoke rising up to the clouds when the hextech crystal explodes, and the birth of Jinx. The opening scene for Jinx. Key scene for Jinx. She may have had a tattoo to symbolize this. Below is Spoiler Information. !!!! Below is spoiler information. !!!! It's also a tattoo associated with Jinx constantly telling Violet that Powder is dead, accept me, accept Jinx.
Idk if this was mentioned yet but VI’s tattoos are also about powder, they’re gears and mechanic symbols - all things you would expect to see on Powder
The cloud tattoos are about the night she killed her family. They're the same color as the explosion. We know this because her final design features tattoos of pink bullets, representing a later tragedy she causes.
That’s why I’m wondering if she’ll get her bullet tattoos for Silco. As the blue smoke tattoo is for Vi, I think she’ll get her bullet tattoos from the game.
The "Are you real" gets me so hard, because it is the first indication that the distance between them is so much greater then Vi thinks. Vie hears "Are you real" and thinks it means "I have been waitng so long, I can't believe this is really happening, am I dreaming" But that isn't what jinx means. She is literally asking "Are you REAL, or are you just another one of my Hallucinations. I cannot tell reality and my own Hallucinations apart."
The thing about Jayce kicking Heimerdinger out of the Council is that Jayce is absolutely right about everything he said. Heimerdinger has been a huge presence and has massive influence over the Council and Piltover, and it's been that way for years, and yet, he never tried to help the Undercity. We never see him discuss how to help its citizens before this episode or offer any solutions, and when the situation escalated to this point, he didn't realize just how much he could've helped if he just *wanted* to. His fatal flaw is that he's been alive for so long that he can't truly empathize with people. While Jayce didn't kick Heimerdinger out for the right reasons and Heimerdinger truly had no bad intentions, I think reminding him of just how responsible for the situation he is was needed.
Yeah but most of the People "Look at him his a sweet puppy how can you do that to him" and the hating on Jayce while I defenitly agree that kicking him out was harsh I still think that Jayce made some good points about him
@@toamszkozak8822 Jayce's points were valid, but he made them just as Heimerdinger was making a speech that seemed to indicate that he's come to that understanding himself - holding people to account - i.e. the other councilors who weren't acting in the people's best interests. Jayce actually wanted Heimerdinger off the council for a completely separate reason - so that they could continue to investigate hextech in order to cure Viktor. It's a tangled web.
He clearly does empathize with people, he's sad that Viktor is terminally ill, and in episode 4 he talks about Stanwick Padidly quite emotionally "A dear friend". But I think it's true that he may actively try not to empathize as well - he's seen civilizations destroyed, he's lived long enough for scores, if not hundreds of friends to have lived and died - that's going to have an effect on him. As is typical for Arcane, there is a lot of nuance.
People who react to this show tend to favor those from Piltover because they live like those from Piltover. You are completely right about how they neglect Zaun, and yet people feel sad for Heimerdinger?! Poor Heimerdinger loses his council seat, boo hoo. Scores of Zaunites die because of Heimerdinger's indifference, "eh..."
@@azeTrom17 Actually, contrary to popular belief her true name Powder was first said by Ekko in "Legends of Runeterra" when the show was still in development hell in 2014 as a result of the pandemic.
@@azeTrom17 ua-cam.com/video/cvOZLYyqkhg/v-deo.html 0:48 is where Ekko calls Jinx Powder. Whenever he talks to Jinx, you can tell the usually cool-headed Ekko is really broken-up about how crazed and corrupted his childhood friend and crush has become, poor dude.
@@azeTrom17 Pretty much every major plot point in Jinx's story was already in mind when her champion was created lol. Retcons or not, Jinx and Vi were created with the full story in mind, as was Ekko.
Montana nailed it with the shimmer. You can use small amounts of it medicinally but whenever you're using large amounts to hulk out it can mess your body up. Which is actually a pretty good metaphor for drugs in real life. Opioids are commonly used as painkillers, but there's also a huge problem with dependency and abuse
And silco is using it to keep is infection to a minimum. Based on the fact that he used it before even the rat trail I assume the healing function was known before the body alteration it can produce. In addition to that it can work as a from of energy directly as well, as seen on sevika.
@@SuperUltimateLP the way sevika uses it is actually really confusing. It's unclear if it's powering her arm or if it's giving her a physical boost to match her arm. Spoiler warning incoming. And then there's the whole thing with her sword and the energy waves, like there's no way shimmer is doing that and if they have that kind of technology then what's the point of hextech anyway. I guess she could have had the gemstone in her arm at that point, Jinx had cracked hextech by then and she could have just took it back out before the tea party but if that's the case it was done really confusingly
@@noremac7216 I think the difference in shimmer and hextech is that shimmer damages you and requires the suffering of rio. In terms of how sevika fits in to that picture ? I don't have a good in universe explaination... Hextech on the other hand (in game lore spoiler!!!) Uses Crystals that are actually the souls of a bygone species/race and you can actually see a hint of that in episode one. The face that reflects in the Crystal powder is analysing isn't hears!!!
@@noremac7216 I think she's using some kind of shimmer/chemtech hybrid. We've seen chemtech power a variety of things. Also, Sevika appears to have some secondary effects from being hit by the hextech crystal explosion in ep3 - glowing blue scars. I wonder if she has some of that infused in her as well.
Silco thought Vi was dead too. Marcus locked her away and told Silco that she'd been killed to save her life. This is why he was so shocked and said "... from the dead" when Sevika told him that Vi was back. Also when he was talking to Ren (Marcus's daughter) he said that "Her daddy (Vander) went on a long trip and your daddy assured me that she went with him". Of course, Silco has since found out that Vi is alive and back and kept that from Jinx and she now knows it. There's no way that Sevika would know and Silco not.
Not only was it a sweet moment but i read somewhere that caitlyn was checking vi’s eyes to see how much the shimmer is taking effect (checking how purple vi’s eyes are and if they’re staying that way)
Every time you see Milo, it's because she is hearing his voice and responds to him. She's traumatised by how much he put her down. Even after his death she hallucinates him saying awful things to her.
The scene with kid Victor running after the boat that he created and falling is an example of how his body is too weak to keep up with the technology that he creates, It's really sad but also explains why he's so eager to know more and to do more, because the time he has isn't enough
The scene of Jinx lighting up the flare, and slowly rotating revealing the Ghosts of her siblings haunting her. Absolute masterpiece! I still get chills.
Fun little tidbit...when you see Mel mixing the paints, she is using egg yolks, which was used as a binding agent that helped it stick to surfaces. This was used from the dark ages up through the renaissance, so it's technologically accurate for their world. Just thought that was a nice touch.
i love how this episode shows us how loving caitlyn is, giving her gun aka her only form of defence away just to help this girl she just met heal and hugging someone she doesn’t know but knowing they need it.
I think there was a little foreshadowing for this. Back in the scene where Caitlyn is talking to Grayson after the shooting competition "For me, knowing how to handle this weapon means being able to protect people." ... "Begs the question, young Kirammen, what are you shooting for?" It alludes to the idea that a gun is a tool, which, in her eyes, is for protecting people - so she trades it to protect Vi.
also we see both cait giving up her gun (a symbol of her upbringing and life so far) in order to help vi, and vi destroying her old home (similar symbolism) in order to escape with cait - love how you can find duality in so many scenes in arcane
@@d3gvsdo I hadn't made that connection - nice! It's also the first time they truly co-operate - Caitlyn starts pushing on the support, Vi glances back and realises she needs to cooperate.
I'm glad they left in the: "Are you real?" scene when she meets Vi. A lot of reactors strangely cut that out. It's one of the best lines in the show in my opinion, at least as far as pulling on the heartstrings. How Vi interprets that line differs as to how Jinx means it. Equivalent to a "Are you really here, wow" take ... while Jinx means it literally, she can't tell what is real or not anymore. And that adds in an extra dose of sadness to the entire meetup. Voice actress did a great job delivering that line as well.
Schnee said it best when talking about the tattoos on both our main girls, Jinx has blue clouds alluding to the flare that to her represented Vi and the connection they shared, and Vi has a mechanical bone structure on her back representing her sister's talents as well as her desire to return to Powder. Both got tattoos that showcased the other and solidifies that after their separation they still mean a lot to each other, whether subconscious or not.
I'm not sure this can possibly be correct. Jinx has had those tattoos in game since her introduction, which is years and years before Arcane was ever written. If anything, it could be argued that the flare was made to be blue as a way to sell the story, but that's about it.
@@RvrStyxRasputinits half true. Yeah the banner art came out way before arcane however just like how her gun's name is Pow-pow waayyy before the concept of her name being powder was a thing, its just a detail that ties it all together. The fact that it ties it to Vi and Vi has one connecting it to Jinx aswell is just good character symmetry
If no one has said it yet the scene with young Victor and the girl. The girl is young Sky. The other person calls out to her. So it’s cool to see that she’s always had an interest in Victor and what he’s been making
The entire episode after Jinx lights the flare is some of the best and most emotional Arcane has to offer. The song and visuals when Jinx is calling out to her sister with Claggor and Mylo still haunting her is so devastating, and Vi stopping in her tracks as soon as she sees the signal and running to Jinx just shows how desperately she wanted her sister back. Their reunion made me bawl my eyes out, and Vi getting kidnapped before they could clear anything was just heartbreaking. Time and time again this show plays out in a way that is just so tragic, because circumstances just keep breaking Vi and Jinx apart.
Also please count this as my first vote for you guys to watch The Owl House. I think you would really like it! It's a lot like Shera in that it has a slower start and a lot a wholesome friendship moments that then evolve into a bigger story with complexity for its characters.
just now realized i think vi saw a glimpse of her mother and powder from way back as Caitlin was trying to wake her up. It looks like their mother looks/acts similar to caitlyn, maybe a small part of why vi took a liking to caitlyn 22:25
I believe the thing about Zaun's poisonous air, is that of survival of the fittest. You either adapt to it, or you get unhealthily sick from like Viktor. Jinx and Vi have grew up in the Undercity for so long, like from birth so they have a poison resistance to it. However, Viktor was unlucky in the lottery to actually be damaged by it instead of build an immunity. I have a theory that it was made worse by the fact that he didn't stay in the Undercity, and went to Piltover which has clean air but since his body didn't grow up on that, it's rejecting it in a way. Like, when you eat nothing but junk food all your life and the one time you drink water or something healthy, your body might have to change to fit that for better or worse. I'm not a doctor and I can't explain things that well, but that's my take on why Viktor is sick. It was just a unlucky draw of not building up an immunity fast enough or just not at all
Another thing to think about on the viktor/hex core topic: Viktor and Jayce pushed the boundaries of knowledge in Act 1 with the magic crystal and it paid off big time (hex gates, refined hex crystals, etc.). They are a little blinded by their previous successes when it comes to "pushing progress without caution" Oh also! Act 2 opened with Jayce saying "I could never replace you professor" and then literally does that by the end of Act 2. So great.
Something i just thought of that could be relating. It could be a small reference to Zac and urgot. Zac being a creation in Zaun (not yet in Arcane though) and Urgot who is a Noxian but cybernetically altered in zaun to have crablike features
As much as it hurts seeing Heimerdinger get voted off the council, I can't help but agree with Jayce. Heimerdinger's a good person, just not a good leader Edit: Also, since you seem to have missed it, Caitlin was knocked out and kidnapped by the Firelights along with Vi.
It's kinda WORSE, actually. Not only is Heimerdinger "not a good leader", he's the HEAD of the council. Likely has been for 200 years... and the traits he shows himself to have as a RULER are not just "not good", they're criminal. Zaun is a toxic waste dump that the people of Piltover wear breathing masks just to visit. The people there are starving and dying, being poisoned. This has been going on for so long that Powder, at the age of four to six somewhere, sings a nursery rhyme about how the people of the Undercity are poor and no threat and won't you rich people give us a coin and have mercy on us... a song that she has heard A LOT at that point in her life, since she knows it well enough to sing it while walking and shielding her eyes. What Heimerdinger, then, is the ruler in charge of, is nothing short of a GENOCIDE. Jayce enumerates merely the LEAST of Heimerdinger's crimes in his nonetheless well-founded and fair tirade against him. In fact, Jayce's tirade is deceitful, because he has known most or all of what he accuses Heimerdinger of, for years... but it only became a PROBLEM when Heimerdinger wants to forbid the best chance his sworn brother has of recovery and survival, when time is growing short. This is understandable, but it is nonetheless utterly dishonest of Jayce to have him kicked off the council for his failure to deal with the Undercity. In fact, for Piltover, Heimerdinger's tenure as head of council has clearly been a rousing success; Piltover exists in a state of affluence and safety that borders on utopia, and it's pretty clear that FOR PILTOVER, removing him will be a disaster. However... how many starved children, how many cancer-ridden adults, how many crippled miners is Heimerdinger responsible for? Removing him from power was just, correct and necessary.
@@th3voice And now seriously, where did they show that the head of the council has at least some power? He couldn't even defend Jace in court. And the orders of the enforsers were given all the time without him…
@@JohnSmithVGA The POTUS doesn't generally order police officers around, either, nor can they do whatever they want without consulting the parliaments. Nevertheless, he is responsible for the actions of the body he governs, and if his incompetence prevents him from governing appropriately, he is culpable for that.
There's good indications that Silco doesn't take shimmer with that eye needle. The best indication hasn't been shown yet, but remember, he used that eye needle thing in episode 1... but he wasn't willing to let the stuff be tested on humans until Deckard "volunteered" and took it in episode 2. While Silco is willing to take risks, that's not something he'd do. My theory, which I think I have fairly good indications for, is that Silco's eye was transplanted by Singed (the doctor/scientist who created shimmer) from the creatures shimmer is extracted from, and it PRODUCES shimmer internally. The needle is used to drain it out of the eye, preventing it from mutating, overwhelming Silco's body completely, bursting, or something else unpleasant. One indication is that whenever anyone gets shimmer into them from any source - ingested, injected, whatever - their eyes turn purple. Happened with Vi when she took a SINGLE DROP in this episode. When Silco pokes that eye, however, ONLY THAT EYE glows purple. I think that's basically because it's a separate organism, a symbiotic parasite that lets Silco see. While it could be that the thing is an injector, I don't think that fits with what we observe, and the creators of the show are too meticulous in their details to put inconsistencies that glaring in there.
Agree... although I hesitated to bring this up due to the better evidence being shown later. But if I recall correctly, we do see his eye sort of leaking shimmer after he gets jabbed with it in ep. 4. So that is a bit more evidence that it's draining his eye, rather than injecting it. As for an eyeball transplant... maybe? I mean perhaps lore people know more details about how shimmer is made, but we are never really given exact details here, just sort of hints. Rio... or more likely what is fed to Rio? It's certainly not a Rio eye transplant, as then Silco would look a bit.. well, fat-eyed... and probably require a new skull too. Also want to comment on the reactor thinking Silco is taking shimmer and slowly going mad because of this ... nah. That's just a side of Silco we typically don't see... he's normally cool and in control... that's his out of control, rampage mode.
@@Mi_Z There's a short blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing in... ep 3 I think, that seems to show a creature (not Rio) hooked up to an apparatus out of which shimmer flows, I think? I remember seeing it but I don't feel ready to stop-motion through the episodes to find it at the moment :P (I have NO CLUE about the lore of LoL beyond what Arcane has shown us and having seen a list of champions and thus having some notions of who's a character in the game and who isn't)
@@th3voice I'll have to do a rewatch and find it ... well, one day, I tend to suspend netflix until they get enough for me to watch, and right now they are on pause. I don't recall that scene, but then again I wasn't looking for it either.
@@Mi_Z I'm not 100% sure, but if I saw what I think I saw, it was in some scene where stuff is moving around fast, and it's not the focus of attention really.
Owl House has my vote. Dragon Price is great and I love it but for the show I want to see the fastest, Owl House is definitely my choice. I love the way all the characters that, on the surface, seem shallow and are kinda basic are slowly developed and unraveled into being really deep and amazingly written. Plus there's only one season left with only a couple of episodes so there wouldn't be much waiting or none at all.
I didn't notice this on my first watch but @22:28 when Vi wakes she's disoriented and sees her mom and powder for a split second when Caitlyn calls her.
On top of the beam just being very unstable, Vi was also shimmered up when she punched the beam. Even a little bit of that stuff can be a big boost. I mean, it just healed a stab wound. The hug is one of my favorite Cait moments and it’s what sealed in my love of her character. She has such a big heart and just wants to help everyone. It’s such a sweet moment. It’s why her and Vi tie for my fav character. Gotta give props to Jinx’s VA. She goes from sweet and broken to deranged and angry very well. While Heimerdinger is kind of the only non-corrupt council member and can technically be considered a good person… he really was not a good leader. He’s allowed the Undercity to become what it is. He’s ignored them almost entirely and he really has lost touch with how short a human lifespan is. Viktor especially doesn’t have a decade to “perfect the research.” He’s literally listening to music without a care while the rest of the council makes shady deals in the box seats last episode. Also, it’s never said in the show but the scientist’s name is Singed.
You know a episode it's good when Montana forgets that she had the hiccups but never realizes it and the showgoes on, (unless in the uncut reaction she mentions it :P)
The flare scene was for me the most epic/emotional tvshow-scene in 2021. Loved all of it. Powder went through so much and still lighting the flare as a last call for rescue.... many tears went down on multiple replays....❤ (and the song is just brilliant)
One thing I will never get tired of while watching Arcane reactions: Every reactor going “Omgggg Rio I love her” 0.2 of a second before Singed says she’s dying. It’s like a whump speedrun.
Love the imagery of Cait trading away the symbol of her old life, the rifle she won awards with, to get medicine to save this important part of her new life; Vi.
I find it soooo funny that at some point while Caitlyn is carrying stabbed Vi away, Vi had to say "But you're so sweet! Like a cupcake 😏".... two minutes later ...."but seriously babe....I need us to turn around and go back for my jacket 😓"
Based on how Jinx was pranking "Chuck" in the beginning, I think Jinx generally has no problem when it comes to collateral damage, but she does need a reason to kill specific people.
Chuck is the kid from Deckard’s gang who chased Powder in episode 1; Powder’s bomb “mouser” just went off in a puff of smoke, and she had to throw the treasure-filled bag in the water to escape. Now, Chuck can’t escape Jinx. Jinx probably never lets him forget that time he chased Powder. The smoke bomb she pranks him with in this episode is a callback; for the audience, and for poor Chuck. Jinx knows he is terrified of her, and is deliberately provoking his fear to get information. Everything Jinx does has a purpose…
THANK you for including my favorite shot in this whole scene, that scene where Viktor stares at the butterfly and just mutters "...figments." It's probably one of the most emotionally evocative parts of the show IMO.
I actually had enormous chills when she lighted up the fire…i wasn’t expecting it lol like so soon already? And the soundtrack obviously did what needed to be done.
I hope you guys will react to The Owl House. Season one does have some flaws but the series gets better the more episodes in and season two is honestly in my opinion, a masterpiece. I wholeheartly recommend checking it out since it has a lot of greatly potrayed representation!
@@fellith4295 This is just my opinion and you can feel free to disagree, but I'd say that the show definitely has a couple of flaws. Some of the episodes of the first season, much like She-Ra, feel way too kid-show-ish, *especially* the first two episodes. And yes, I know it's a kids show, but the rest of the show deals with such mature themes that the episodes that feel out of place feel *extremely* out of place. The first two episodes also feel like a typical 'outcast find themselves in a magical world' show and Luz has so much 'I've always been different and an outcast' type of dialogue that it feels like a 'I'm not like the other girls' trope. She is also so much less interesting in the first season and she doesn't really show any character growth until the Grom episode where her conflict with her mom kicks in. Until then she only shows growth as a witch and doesn't really progress as a person and doesn't change her outlook on the world (but I don't find that to be too much of an issue because Luz after Grom and in season 2 has really good characterization and growth). It also feels like the show skipped the part where Lilith apologized to Eda for her actions and we never see them argue about what Lilith did in season 2 which I really dislike, even though I love Lilith. I also feel like the way the Day of Unity and Belos were dealt with was really unsatisfying because that was what we spent the two seasons building up to, and it was solved way too easily by another character we were pretty much just introduced to. It made me feel like our main antagonist wasn't a threat at all and makes rewatching the episodes where I found Belos to be really threatening earlier in the show feel way less impactful. I now want to say that even though it might not look that way, I really like this show and I started watching it right after season 1 aired, I just feel like these flaws make me enjoy the show a little bit less.
The Owl House is definitely one of my favourite shows ever, its so fast paced and interesting to analyse. plus season three is being released soon so you'll be right on time to start season 1 when everyone's interested in it!
The Guns for hire scene is my absolute favorite from the show. I've watched that part again and again. Enjoyed this episode!! Also, I'm super hyped for y'all to react to The Owl House, would be great if that was the next one. I haven't really watched the other two, but it'd also be very fun to react along with you!
i love how the character designs are all nods to their characters names. every since powder became jinx you can see X's hidden all over her body and outfit. Vi also has hidden V's all over her as well
The way i see it Heimerdinger essentially lived through Chernobyl or Hiroshima, and is now watching two brilliant youngsters try to recreate a nuke. Also the scene with Silco at Marcus's house was Silco being angry he was told Vi was dead. Marcus was probably keeping Vi as a bargaining chip to use when he needed, or just trying to keep his involvement of ep3 a secret somewhere only he knew
Really looking forward to watching you react to the Dragon Prince! (Regardless if it's the very next series or a bit later) Also, the "Get in the car, invalid!" followed by Viktors face on mustang gave me a good chuckle XD
there's a really good cinematic from the League youtube called "Call of Power, Ryze" that has some extra context to Heimerdinger's worries (besides being a REALLY good cinematic)
Hey .. great reaction as always. Just wanted to say that we just found out this episode that Silco didnt rly lie to Jinx about Vi .. Marcus lied about it . Cant wait to see how u react to Jinx/Silco relationship as episodes go by ;)
I guess I'll cast my vote...Dragon Prince! The show has more of a complex, almost Korra like story that connects each episode. (The story itself isn't like LoK, but the way each episode flows into each other is similar, while still being sperate episodes with plot) The Owl House is amazing though, so I wouldn't mind either, it feels more like a sitcom kind of episode structure if that makes sense
Young justice, young justice, young justi- ok but honestly its one of my favorite shows. So id really love to see you guys react to it. But I’d be happy with any of them
"she got stabbed by the right hand... person" nono, I'm fairly certain it was the left hand that stabbed her xD And yes, like a lot of medication, Shimmer seems relatively fine in very small doses. Silco has been taking shimmer in his eye for at least 7 years and he's not worse for wear. Sevika probably fights on the regular with it and she's in top shape, it's like morphine and heroine in real life. Shimmer would be an incredible advancement if it was used for health reasons instead of as a tool for war and drug trade.
@@Mi_Z I'm not sure what you mean. The needle is clearly shimmer related as there's the shimmer light effect and drops of shimmer shown on screen. Do you mean that he's draining Shimmer out of his eye? That seems unlikely. That would mean his body is literally producing the drug. If shimmer worked like that on humans, Silco would be using all the people abandoned near Vi's old house as shimmer factories. Human bodies can't produce shimmer therefore he's injecting shimmer, not draining it.
@@Arkayjiya There are a couple of hints early on it's not shimmer ... like Silco stabbing his eyeball before shimmer was even tested on Deckard. Silco would never be the first guinea pig. Eye color changes are another hint. --- SPOILERS --- Next episode there is further evidence. Jinx stabs him in the cheek multiple times with the injector... and nothing. No eye color change. No writhing in pain. Nothing. If it was shimmer, injecting it into one's cheeks would cause a reaction. Someone else here theorized his eye may be a transplant from a creature that produces shimmer.
@@Mi_Z "If it was shimmer, injecting it into one's cheeks would cause a reaction." Based on what? We've only seen shimmer injected through a mechanism or drunk. There's no evidence that injecting it randomly in the skin will do much, especially in small doses. You're reaching. They specifically use the shimmer visual effect, not just any random effect, it's shimmer. There's also no evidence that Silco wouldn't use a less potent variant of shimmer that has been tested but isn't strong enough to produce monsters or simply another medicine before shimmer was invented. The first time he goes to inject himself, he doesn't actually do it so we have no indication of what was in that seringue.
League of Legends: Hey, players! Do you like eccentric action girls like Harley Quinn? Well, check out Jinx! She's got big guns, big explosives, and lots of comedic quips to go along with all the insane mayhem she creates! Don't you just love how wacky and adorable her antics are? Arcane: Hey, _League of Legends_ fans! Do you love Jinx? You know, the crazy action girl with all the comedic in-game battle quotes. She's a fan favorite. Well, we're gonna take that mental instability and infuse it with a backstory filled with childhood trauma. And you'll get to see the gut-wrenching impact of this character type when it isn't played up for laughs. Grab some tissues and get ready to have your heart broken as we portray the agonizing hell that is Jinx's mental state in excruciating detail.
Great commentary on Jinx. As for some of the other points of interest. Poverty isn't a binary system, with and off and on switch. If we say have an underclass of people, living in a polluted environment, not all will be affected the same. Think how poverty in real life applies to people as far as statistics, and disproportionately more risks, health issues, mental health resources, life expectancy, higher infant mortality, drug abuse, crime... a lot! Pollution/toxicity can relative as well. In many ways, that some of our favourite characters from the underground, don't seem as negatively affected as to not be suffering like Viktor... is a major issue, because it creates/apathy/complacency and if its only 5% of the population... its more insidious in some ways. Its also interesting, because Arcane is pretty well considered, and written. Like there is so much depth and potential, story beats, mirrors and parallels, some more subtle than others, little visual easter eggs, and more! Viktor and Jayce are close, Viktor literally saved Jayce's life remember? Also as someone from the Underground, Viktor is more aware of the gaps of the quality of life that some experience over others. This show is great for what ifs. What if Heimerdinger ventured into the Undercity more? What if Powder got therapy, or even in this episode, her and Vi actually got a low tension, safe, moment to actually talk to each other without being interrupted? What if Viktor lived in a fairer socioeconomic city, and as healthy as any other? Caitlyn may be my single fav character, but even in this episode, she had to confront the fact, she may be quite naive to issues that have arisen in her city and the harsh realities of others "Losing contact with sister? No parents?" so a lot that can be delved into.
40:00 I'm interested to know how did Caitlyn get back the magic ball being unconscious on the floor after a Firelight kicked her in the face and took the magic ball 🤣🤣🤣. People always forget about that haha but I get it, so many things happened in this episode and this is the easiest stuff to forget about among all of it.
Found your channel recently and I’m enjoying it so far. Love your guys reaction and I’m able to relive the greatest moments of these shows. As for what show I think would be great for you guys to watch next I have to say The Owl House. It is truly a phenomenal show with dark undertones. It also tells a great story with lovable characters. The first part of the last season will be coming out on Oct 15.
I think the shimmer from the first three episodes is different from the shimmer people use to drug in the bar, or the one Silco uses for his eye. In the next episode they talk about a new variant, so it is possible that the variant of shimmer that messes up the people from the pit is the first unstable variant, but still all variants should be dangerous at long term. Also, Silco was told by Marcus that Vi died, that's whys at the end of episode 5 he says "from the death?", And the whole point of Silco going to Marcus's place is to confront him about Vi being alive.
Whew.. Silco did NOT lie....... Marcus told him Vi is gone so he assumed she's dead. The only thing Silco did wrong to Jinx is not tell her that Vi is alive, ofc he won't because he knows Jinx will always prefer Vi over anyone else BUT he strongly believes Vi will just harm Jinx. Vi wants her sister, Powder, not Jinx. People get this wrong over and over and over again it's frustrating. I get it Silco = bad.. there are tons of reason to dislike the character but stop bringing things he did not do. EDIT: Quoting Jinx, “Stop talking to me like a child.” Most people kept blaming Silco for EVRYTHING who Jinx is as if she has no agency over herself. That's kind of insulting to Jinx given how she already shown us how CAPABLE she is.. I guess she will never be enough, eh?
Different take on why Silco is so dead set on Vi not resurfacing: A big part is definately that she will mess up the relationship between Jinx and Silco, revealing that Vander is responsible for the death that jinx was blamed for, and the reason Vi didn't come back. But also, Vi is Vanders Daughter, someone deeply respected, who organized the community.the And organized them specifically to prevent any revolution against Piltover. If she resurfaces, she might advocate for peace, and Silco never gets his nation of Zaun.

Montana with the Hiccups is adorable.💗😊
Ok, I know Dragon prince lost the poll. But it is absolutely the one you should watch next!
The best way to deal with hiccups is a glass of water.
You really should watch the Dragon Prince, especially considering how Avatar elevated this channel. It's from the same makers and it shows, it has the same spirit to it.
I couldn't take it seriously when Montana was having hiccups 🤣🤣🤣
"The difference between a good medicine and a poison is the dosage"
I'd be cool to see all the other Zaunite champions in season 2
Celebrimbor was likely speaking from experience.
Alternatively, everything kills you if you take too much of it.
What do you think the right dosage of cyanide is for it to be good medicine.
Omg I didn’t even think of that
Idk if this was mentioned yet but VI’s tattoos are also about powder, they’re gears and mechanic symbols - all things you would expect to see on Powder
Vie hears "Are you real" and thinks it means "I have been waitng so long, I can't believe this is really happening, am I dreaming"
But that isn't what jinx means.
Your comment is exactly what needed to be pointed out
He clearly does empathize with people, he's sad that Viktor is terminally ill, and in episode 4 he talks about Stanwick Padidly quite emotionally "A dear friend".
29:18 Sad fact: In League of Legends, "Pow-Pow" is the name of Jinx's minigun. So she named her gun after her childhood nickname.
A SUPER creative addition to the show, especially since the minigun's name was created long before Jinx's childhood name was created for the show
@@azeTrom17 Actually, contrary to popular belief her true name Powder was first said by Ekko in "Legends of Runeterra" when the show was still in development hell in 2014 as a result of the pandemic.
@@aspieanarchist5439 Oh interesting, didn't know that
@@azeTrom17 ua-cam.com/video/cvOZLYyqkhg/v-deo.html 0:48 is where Ekko calls Jinx Powder.
There also seem to be various formulations of it, with different effects.
Hextech on the other hand (in game lore spoiler!!!)
Uses Crystals that are actually the souls of a bygone species/race and you can actually see a hint of that in episode one.
Something i didn't realize until rewatching, "Bet you wouldn't miss her" is Jinx talking to her minigun.
Took me a few rewatches to catch that too.
This is the first time I noticed it too
I thought she was talking to Vi, saying she wouldn’t miss her in return because of the person Powder became.
The scene of Vi and Caitlyn almost kissing is enough to proclaim Montana deceased.
Yeah, Elijah went back and rewatched that several times 😅
@@HaydrogenBomb yeah when she did that i couldn't stop laughing

Not only was it a sweet moment but i read somewhere that caitlyn was checking vi’s eyes to see how much the shimmer is taking effect (checking how purple vi’s eyes are and if they’re staying that way)
Every time you see Milo, it's because she is hearing his voice and responds to him. She's traumatised by how much he put her down. Even after his death she hallucinates him saying awful things to her.

OMG, you monster. LMAO!

Don't cry. You're perfect.
This is wrong. It represents the blue explosion that killed her family. She gets pink bullet tattoos later for a very similar reason.
Montana was so proud of her "Who!" joke. Delightful.
Also, imo, she completely nailed her description of Jinx's mental state.
Forreal. These two are hilarious 😂
Time and time again this show plays out in a way that is just so tragic, because circumstances just keep breaking Vi and Jinx apart.

just now realized i think vi saw a glimpse of her mother and powder from way back as Caitlin was trying to wake her up.
They are a little blinded by their previous successes when it comes to "pushing progress without caution"
Oh also! Act 2 opened with Jayce saying "I could never replace you professor" and then literally does that by the end of Act 2. So great.
Notice what Powder is drawing on the wall: A slug monster and a razor crab.
The attention to detail is amazing.
Heimerdinger's a good person, just not a good leader
Edit: Also, since you seem to have missed it, Caitlin was knocked out and kidnapped by the Firelights along with Vi.
The main thing is that those who stayed after him showed themselves immediately from the best side)
And the orders of the enforsers were given all the time without him…
@@th3voice Wow. That was a lot 👏👏👏

"Get in the car invalid."
WOAH, guys, Victor is DYING you know! lol
When Vi calls pow-pow gets me every time
There's good indications that Silco doesn't take shimmer with that eye needle.
Jayce used the same trick to Mel as she got her "supporter" with children toy guy, you can see his slight glance at Mel.
I just noticed that at 22:27 there is powder and there is someone else because that's not Caitlyn I'm pretty sure, maybe Vi's mother??
Owl House has my vote. Dragon Price is great and I love it but for the show I want to see the fastest, Owl House is definitely my choice. I love the way all the characters that, on the surface, seem shallow and are kinda basic are slowly developed and unraveled into being really deep and amazingly written. Plus there's only one season left with only a couple of episodes so there wouldn't be much waiting or none at all.
Yessss
same
I didn't notice this on my first watch but @22:28 when Vi wakes she's disoriented and sees her mom and powder for a split second when Caitlyn calls her.
You know a episode it's good when Montana forgets that she had the hiccups but never realizes it and the showgoes on, (unless in the uncut reaction she mentions it :P)
i love how optimistic they are for "powder"
The flare scene was for me the most epic/emotional tvshow-scene in 2021. Loved all of it. Powder went through so much and still lighting the flare as a last call for rescue.... many tears went down on multiple replays....❤ (and the song is just brilliant)
Another reason Silco doesn't want Vi to resurface is because she would likely be looked to as Vander's heir apparent
The amount of Vi and Cait moments in this one ✨
One thing I will never get tired of while watching Arcane reactions:
Every reactor going “Omgggg Rio I love her” 0.2 of a second before Singed says she’s dying. It’s like a whump speedrun.
Love the imagery of Cait trading away the symbol of her old life, the rifle she won awards with, to get medicine to save this important part of her new life; Vi.
It's Official! Montana Hiccup counter: 31 (oh and 7:35 ...I NEED TO SEE THE VIDEO!)
Lol her hickups are adorable, btw , a trick is that if you swollow air four or five times it can actually get rid of your hickups
11:44
"who are you playing with sweetie?"
"amanda"
"ah.. OH! who are you?!"
"i'm amanda. I'm six."
Oh? What flaws?
It’s a cute show. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece by any means.
Awwww Montanaaaa, dw I’m sure everyone who saw this episode got emotional, the scenes, the music, is just everythinggg😩
I can’t wait for the last 3 episode reactions. Loving them all so far
14:34 That was so uncalled for!! 🤣🤣🤣
HELP the "Get in the car, invalid" with Viktor's face SENT ME
The Owl House is definitely one of my favourite shows ever, its so fast paced and interesting to analyse. plus season three is being released soon so you'll be right on time to start season 1 when everyone's interested in it!
Can we just appreciate the length of these videos, y'all work harder than some people whove been around wayy longer👏👏
Montana's having hiccup while watching that creature which looks like hiccup's dragon
Ugh the soundtrack to this show is so good!!!
Really looking forward to watching you react to the Dragon Prince!
(Regardless if it's the very next series or a bit later)
Also, the "Get in the car, invalid!" followed by Viktors face on mustang gave me a good chuckle XD
"Lowkey...She did." In the intro line up SOOO perfectly with the music.
lmao Montana crying in the thumbnail is just perfect
I love how we get a different back story every episode in the beginning
there's a really good cinematic from the League youtube called "Call of Power, Ryze" that has some extra context to Heimerdinger's worries (besides being a REALLY good cinematic)
Hey .. great reaction as always. Just wanted to say that we just found out this episode that Silco didnt rly lie to Jinx about Vi .. Marcus lied about it .
Cant wait to see how u react to Jinx/Silco relationship as episodes go by ;)
This show is a masterpiece.
That reunion scene was both heartwarming & heartbreaking🥺
11:20 No it GOT to her. She just pretended to be faking it to not look vulnerable in front of her.
I guess I'll cast my vote...Dragon Prince! The show has more of a complex, almost Korra like story that connects each episode. (The story itself isn't like LoK, but the way each episode flows into each other is similar, while still being sperate episodes with plot) The Owl House is amazing though, so I wouldn't mind either, it feels more like a sitcom kind of episode structure if that makes sense
me too DP all the way
i agree!! i really want them to watch Dragon Prince, especially since the season 4 release is so close!
Dragon prince would be awesome, would love to see their reactions to a certain ex face stealer (least spoilery way I can describe them)
Young justice, young justice, young justi- ok but honestly its one of my favorite shows. So id really love to see you guys react to it. But I’d be happy with any of them
Nobody:
Vi: self preservation? Who’s she?
"she got stabbed by the right hand... person" nono, I'm fairly certain it was the left hand that stabbed her xD
And yes, like a lot of medication, Shimmer seems relatively fine in very small doses.
Unlikely Silco gets injected with it at all -- more likely that needle drains his eye.
--- SPOILERS ---
Next episode there is further evidence.
@@Mi_Z "If it was shimmer, injecting it into one's cheeks would cause a reaction."
Based on what? We've only seen shimmer injected through a mechanism or drunk. There's no evidence that injecting it randomly in the skin will do much, especially in small doses.
You're reaching. They specifically use the shimmer visual effect, not just any random effect, it's shimmer.
There's also no evidence that Silco wouldn't use a less potent variant of shimmer that has been tested but isn't strong enough to produce monsters or simply another medicine before shimmer was invented.
The first time he goes to inject himself, he doesn't actually do it so we have no indication of what was in that seringue.
@@Mi_Z ++
I often see this theory about Silco's eye and it makes more sense than other theories.
The "owl boy aka who" joke was so good and Kenny barely reacted to it 😭
Also please watch owl house next it's so good!
Jinx has Blue and Pink Nails.
The same as the sisters color schemes! O.o
1:05 Yeah right, you wanna see more because it will be "fun".
The "get in the car *invalid*" and the clips of FMA had me cracking up 🤣
You would love the dragon Prince sokka's voice actor is in it and it is written by the same people as avatar the last air bender.
keeping my fingers crossed for the dragon prince 🤞🏽🤞🏽
Editor: "Should I edit out the hiccups? Naw, hiccup counter."
Jinx Ultra Instinct Counter. With the music! 😂. Haha perfect
Yes, i cried in this episode
All episodes of arcane are great but the last 3 after this are absolute bangers every episode is a 10
Different take on why Silco is so dead set on Vi not resurfacing: A big part is definately that she will mess up the relationship between Jinx and Silco, revealing that Vander is responsible for the death that jinx was blamed for, and the reason Vi didn't come back. But also, Vi is Vanders Daughter, someone deeply respected, who organized the community.the And organized them specifically to prevent any revolution against Piltover. If she resurfaces, she might advocate for peace, and Silco never gets his nation of Zaun.
Great reaction! (Also a little tip, to stop hiccups I drink water with my head upside down)
23:10 In fact that's not a hangout. That's where they lived with their biological parents.
31:36 🤣🤣🤣 The Spider Sense
Interesting theory and discussion about Jinx's psyche... I'm not going to say whether you're right or wrong... Lovely reaction to the flare scene.
