- Incredible what AMG done with the record with the AMG one!
But let's see here an interesting comparison....
i took the video of one qualifying lap of my dear friend Kuba Giermaziak last year into the AMG GT3 and transposed it with the AMG one lap of Maro Engel, both start from the Sabine Schmidt cure (ex T13) and finished on the kerb before the connection to the GP track.
The result is very very close as you can see!
Both driver are in the pro Gold classification FIA (up of this classification is Platinum which is basically F1 driver)
Kuba won the overal NLS endurance Nurburgring championship this year and Maro Engel has also a great palmarès with nurburgring 24HRS win etc...
So two WORLDCLASS PRO DRIVER here!
Few facts:
The AMG one had a tricky lap due to some wet spots on the track who made him loosed around 5 secs at my opinion
Kuba had a perfect condition lap but with some traffic who made him loose around 3/4secs.
The AMG GT3 of Kuba had a BOP (balance of performance) who is quiet rude for endurance racing, so the car had only 490HP vs 580hp with out restriction....
The AMG ONE is 3M€
The AMG GT3 is 500K€
In nls the record on qualify is around 6 secs quicker so if you do a perfect qualy lap with no BOP we can expect around 10secs quicker than this lap for the AMG GT3
Conclusion, both car on a perfect conditions super qualify lap, with no restriction, no wet spot etc
AMG ONE: 6.29MIN FULL LAP

It's insane that we can drive street cars as fast as Gt3s now ! And on a GP Track it would be even more insane with the AMG One which is better suited for that.
But basically you need to spend 3M€ for being same fast as a GT3 car of 2022
Buying a gt2 rs MR 450k€ and be same fast as a GT3 of year 2010 makes more sense for me 😅
@@sebastianvittel74 Only on the Nordschleife, i think when you go to a track like Spa its a different story. It was clear from the beginning that the AMG One is overpriced as f..., but experiencign a f1 hybrid engine in a roadlegal car is insane 😄

Amazing what the AMG One can do with street legal tyres. It is almost as fast as a GT3 Racecar on Slicks.
I wonder what the One would do on slicks.
@Sebastian do you have an estimate, how many seconds the One would gain with slicks, based on your experience with fast Cars?

I heard the "One" was in "Sport +" mode. The "Quali" mode is a little faster but doesn't work well for the long lap at the Ring.
Yes, i think the Quali mode is more optimal for laps that take around 2min
Wow I never realised how fast GT3 cars are. Sub 600hp, not particularly light and they still dunk on 3mil 1000hp hypercars while keeping up that pace for 24 hours.
Crazy right? That's why i love endurance race

And the weight of the gt3 is around 400kgs lighter

ONE just faster on straights it seems
but also not that much slower in the corners
Too be fair if the gt3 had the same power of the one would bee way faster
The gt3 has slicks though which gives it a huge advantage
90 hp less than the AMG One, but 4 seconds faster per lap. How ?
Slicks and downforce
Considering the price of the one and power advantage it should be a lot faster IMO.
One got barely any restrictions and uses slicks the other is a road legal car with road tires.
