    South Africa has to be super strict on travelers who are coming into the country with minors. Just in December a Zimbabwean couple who were travelling into SA by bus were arrested for trafficking 14 undocumented Zimbabwean children into SA. This is not the first time that foreigners are caught trafficking undocumented children into the country. Its a serious problem and South Africans have been demanding that the government protect children and put an end to this. SA is huge on protecting Children's Rights. Its actually in your children's best interest that our police are as strict as they are.

    Wow looks like we're on a similar journey. I'm from Ft. Lauderdale but in TZ right now and I was going to take the train to Lusaka in November. I still plan to visit one day but right now the plan is to go to South Africa next month. When you said you were leaving TZ my first thought was you seem to be a lot like me I think she's going to SA next..it's funny seeing I was right. I have daughters your girls ages as well. We never met in TZ but maybe we will in SA lol.

    I see you finally took my advice and came! You probably don't remember me but I once commented asking you to visit. Anyways welcome to South Africa! Sorry about the police,they probably couldn't believe you're American cause you came by bus,which is an unusual way for tourists from America to enter,most fly in,so I guess that's why they were suspicious but I'm really sorry tho,don't take it to heart,the majority of us here are very friendly,it was just those individuals. But anyways enjoy your stay and explore the city as much as you can,check out Sandton,Rosebank,Melrose Arch,Waterfall,Maboneng,Braamfontein etc,there's a lot to do and if you get the time also visit other cites like Pretoria,Durban and Cape Town🇿🇦❤

  • @durbansfinestbiker0312
    @durbansfinestbiker0312 Рік тому +4

    Sorry about your experience but authorities would not expect an American to be coming to South Africa in a bus. Not with how strong the dollar is to the rand. Infact it was dangerous mam i would not recommend you do that again.

      Safety issues? Is America safe?

    • @Joe_Ndlozi
      @Joe_Ndlozi Рік тому

      The US is also the dangerous country to live in the world. Mass church shootings, school shootings, mall shootings the list is endless. So It's absurd to warn people who came from a country that has crime about South Africa. South Africa is not even in the top 10 of the most dangerous countries in the world.

    • @Joe_Ndlozi
      @Joe_Ndlozi Рік тому +1

      America has safety issues too. If you come from the US don't even bring up the crime topic coz it's a mess in America when it comes to crime.

    • @_p45
      @_p45 Рік тому

      @@Joe_Ndlozi there’s different tiers of safety in case you didn’t know and yes of course safety is something you have to consider no matter where you are but in this case there is a reason why our government (USA) have put a travel caution alert for Americans travelling to SA..there’s intelligence behind it. I’m not just speaking air ..combine that with the fact people are living in darkness most of the time with SA embarrassing load shedding issue which has a direct correlation with the spike in crime makes that an extra concern to foreigners..also we know the police is useless out there in SA ..I seen it with my own eyes ..

    • @Joe_Ndlozi
      @Joe_Ndlozi Рік тому +1

      @@_p45 The U.S. is not a heaven, as portrayed. Black Americans migrate to South Africa, citing concerns about crimes against black people, including mass church shootings, school shootings, mall shootings, etc. The high cost of living, high food prices, etc. I'm not surprised that many black Americans are leaving that overrated country. The issues with the police in the U.S. are significant, with numerous innocent black people brutally killed. South African police don't have such barbaric behavior.

      @OagengNd Рік тому +7

      South Africa is not and will never be America. Your conflating being developed with being American. South Africa is African first. Modernity and tradition coexist beautifully here hence we still have our cultures and languages in tact.

    • @tyali84
      @tyali84 Рік тому +9

      The most ridiculous statement is saying any developed country in Africa equals to it feeling like America. One moment the whole world is undermining the continent for not progressing and the second we develop, that's also an issue. The parts of Africa that are not developed is due to corruption and not because they enjoy the esthetics of looking unkempt.
