I feel that Ends did a good job of showing us what happened in Haddonfield after Kills. It's pretty much an aftermath film showing what the town and people are like after a Myers rampage instead of jumping to the next bloody holiday and I love that. 2018 and Kills were the cause and Ends is the effect.

Indeed. No town or city will be the same after a rampage like Michael Myers.

@@herbzzz Its a bit choppy yeah, the way I see it is Micheal had destroyed her life and everybody else's in Haddonfields as worse as he possibly could before he vanished without a trace, leaving the town in constant fear and paranoia but after the few years time jump the fear and paranoia had turned to hate and anger and everyone got sour and rageful and I imagine for awhile Laurie was one of them, but after awhile and seeing all the damage Michael had caused everyone and all the horrible things that happened even after his disappearance, she decided she no longer wanted that dreadful legacy and definitely didnt want it for Allyison, the only thing she had left, so she sat aside her boogeyman and tried to be the best stereotypical grandmother she could be for Allyison, her only remaining family and she threw herself into that to hide the pain. Eventually she got told the idea of the memoirs and how they could help as well. She was the only one who tried moving past the town and Myers dark history whenever she had more reason than most to be angry and I love that. Allyison was extremely traumatized by the previous films as well and Laurie was extremely protective of her and wanted a better life for her and I think that motivated her a lot to be better than what the town was trying to make her. She had done so well that even when Myers showed back up, she got the best of him but instead of yelling and screaming and tormenting him, she simply and quietly bled him out and then held his hand for his last breaths because she had (for the most part) moved on past the boogeyman and his shadow.

I fucking love this movie, it's top 3 on my ranking, and I really don't care about the haters.
This scene of Laurie trying to heal and live her life, always makes me cry.
People didn't understand that Laurie was TRYING to heal (for Allyson, the one person she had left), she was not recovered and she was not happy, she was TRYING to embrace life and she went to therapy and detox. In the actual movie, we see how Laurie was still dealing with sadness, pain, grief and even the town's hate against her.
I'm the actual movie, Allyson said to Corey (in the restaurant scene) that she took Laurie to take teraphy and detox because she was completely broken and also was a huge mess after the events of "Halloween Kills", and in the official novelization says that she was still looking for Michael for an entire year after "Halloween Kills".
I love Laurie Strode in "Halloween Ends", it's my favorite version of the character, she was the perfect mix between 1978 & 2018 Laurie, she was such a beautiful soul in "Halloween Ends", I loved seeing her smiling and at the end, she actually killed her Boogeyman once and for all (and no, it wasn't easy for her, she almost died because Michael overpowered her three times during the fight and almost killed her until she outsmarted him trying to take the mask off), I also love the way how Jamie Lee Curtis did most of her stunt work during the fight sequence, she got hurt in real life, that's impressive.
I love how they finally gave Laurie Strode the ending she deserved, they gave her a hopeful ending, she final had peace after many years and after many sequels where she was killed off screen and on screen.
Laurie Strode is my favorite character of all time, not just my favorite Halloween franchise character, but my favorite fictional character of all time!

Ends gets a lot of hate and I get why, but it’s not as bad as people say in my opinion. It made them mad in the moment when they saw it because it wasn’t really what they expected or wanted. I felt the same way when I first watched it but then I rewatched and it’s not that bad. It’s better than some other Halloween sequels. I actually like it, it shows that Michael isn’t the only one who can hold that evil/darkness. I just wish they kept the original ending where it shows some of the evil inside of Laurie at the end.
This is just my opinion. You can still hold your opinion too.

So Michael killed a couple of your high school friends when u were 17 and that was enough trauma for u to cling on to for 40 years, but then he kills your daughter, and all of a sudden you decide to just let it go? Something’s not adding up. lazy screenwriting at its finest

Sometimes you have to just let go, or hate and pain will send you down a dark path. The writers knew how this affected Laurie, but this time she decided to let it go. It's the best thing to do.
